commenced prior to issuance of a permit and that all work will be performed to meet standards of all laws regulating
construction, County and City codes, zoning regulations, and land development regulations in the jurisdiction. I also
certify that I understand that the regulations of other government agencies may apply to the intended work, and that it is
my responsibility to identify what actions I must take to be in compliance. Such agencies include but are not limited to:
- Department of Environmental Protection -Cypress Bayheads, Wetland Areas and Environmentally Sensitive
Lands, Water/Wastewater Treatment.
- Southwest Florida Water Management District -Wells, Cypress Bayheads, Wetland Areas, Altering
Watercourses.
- Army Corps of Engineers -Seawalls, Docks, Navigable Waterways.

Septic Tanks.
- US Environmental Protection Agency -Asbestos abatement.
- Federal Aviation Authority -Runways.
I understand that the following restrictions apply to the use of fill:
- Use of fill is not allowed in Flood Zone W" unless expressly permitted.
- If the fill material is to be used in Flood Zone "A", it is understood that a drainage plan addressing a
"compensating volume" will be submitted at time of permitting which is prepared by a professional engineer
licensed by the State of Florida.
- If the fill material is to be used in Flood Zone "A" in connection with a permitted building using stem wall
construction, I certify that fill will be used only to fill the area within the stem wall.
- If fill material is to be used in any area, I certify that use of such fill will not adversely affect adjacent
properties. If use of fill is found to adversely affect adjacent properties, the owner may be cited for violating
the conditions of the building permit issued under the attached permit application, for lots less than one (1)
acre which are elevated by fill, an engineered drainage plan is required.
If I am the AGENT FOR THE OWNER, I promise in good faith to inform the owner of the permitting conditions set forth in
this affidavit prior to commencing construction. I understand that a separate permit may be required for electrical work,
plumbing, signs, wells, pools, air conditioning, gas, or other installations not specifically included in the application. A
permit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work and not as authority to violate, cancel, alter, or
set aside any provisions of the technical codes, nor shall issuance of a permit prevent the Building Official from thereafter
requiring a correction of errors in plans, construction or violations of any codes. Every permit issued shall become invalid
unless the work authorized by such permit is commenced within six months of permit issuance, or if work authorized by
the permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of six (6) months after the time the work is commenced. An extension

Standard and Quick Response, Standard Coverage
TYCO Series DS-C Dry Type Sprinklers,
5.6K Concealed Pendent, Standard (5
mm Bulb) and Quick Response (3 mm
Bulb) and Standard Coverage,
are dec-
orative sprinklers featuring a flat cover
plate designed to conceal the sprinkler.
This type of sprinkler is typically used
to provide a sprinkler drop from an
unheated attic into an area where aes-
thetics is a concern, such as nursing
homes, restaurants, and schools.
Each unit includes a Cover Plate
Assembly that conceals the sprinkler
operating components above the
ceiling. The separable two-piece design
of the Cover Plate and Support Cup
Assemblies allows installation of the
sprinklers and pressure testing of
the fire protection system prior to
installation of a suspended ceiling or
application of the finish coating to a
fixed ceiling. They also permit removal
of suspended ceiling panels for access
to building service equipment without
having to first shut down the fire pro-
tection system and remove sprinklers.
Also, the separable two-piece, design of
the Sprinkler provides for 1/2 inch (12,7
mm) of vertical adjustment.
Series DS-C Sprinklers are shipped with
a Disposable Protective Cap. The Pro-
tective Cap is temporarily removed for
installation, and then it can be replaced
to help protect the sprinkler while the
ceiling is installed or finished. The tip of

When TYCO Series DS-C Dry Type
Concealed Pendent Sprinklers is in
service, water is prevented from enter-
ing the assembly by the Plug with Gas-
keted Spring Plate Sea] (Ref. Figure 1)
in the Inlet of the Sprinkler.
When exposed to heat from a fire, the
Cover Plate, which is normally soldered
to the Retainer at three points, falls
away to expose the Sprinkler Assembly.
At this point the Deflector supported by
the Guide Pins drops down to its opera-
tional position.
The glass bulb contains a fluid that
expands when exposed to heat. When
the rated temperature is reached, the
fluid expands sufficiently to shatter
the glass bulb, and the Bulb Seat is
released.

only applicable for wet pipe systems
where the sprinkler fitting and water -
filled pipe above the sprinkler fitting are
not subject to freezing and where the
length of the Dry Type Sprinkler has the
minimum exposure length depicted in
Figure 7. Refer to the Exposure Length
For wet pipe system installations of

DS-C Dry Type Sprinklers directly
below the branch line. [thenwiea, use
the configuration shown in Figure to
assure complete water drainage from
above Series DS-CDry Sprinklers
and the branch line. Failure to do so
may result in pipe freezing and water
damage.
Do not install Series DS-CDry Type
Sprinklers into any other type fitting
without first consulting the Technical
Services Department. Failure to use the
appropriate fitting may result in one of
the following:
• failure ofthe sprinkler to operate
properly due to formation of ice over

Exposure Length
When using Dry Type Sprinklers in
wet pipe sprinkler systems to protect
areas subject to freezing temperatures,
use Table A to determine a sprinkler's
appropriate exposed barrel length to
prevent water from freezing in the con-
necting pipes due to conduction. The
exposed barrel length measurement
must be taken from the face of the
sprinkler fitting to the surface of the
structure orinsulation that iaexposed
oothe heated area. Refer toFigure 7for
an example.
For area temperatures
between those given above, the
minimum recommended length from
the face odthe fitting to the outside of

values.
Do not attempt to add additional insula-
tion around the barrel in the heated area

This will reduce the calculated "Expo-
sure Length".
Clearance Space
|naccordance with NFRu13.where dry
sprinklers are connected towet pipe
sprinkler i insulated
freezer structures, the clearance space
around the sprinkler barrel of Dry Type
Sprinklers must be sealed. Due to tem-
perature differences between two areas,
the potential for the formation of con-
densation in the sprinkler and subse-
quent ice build-up is increased. If this
condensation is not controlled, ice
build-up can occur that might damage
the dry type sprinkler and/or prevent
proper operation in a fire situation.
Use of the K8nd*| DGB-2 Dry Sprinkler
Boot, described intechnical data sheet

uses a steel electro-plated u-bolt to save
space and for easier installation in tight
places. The MT-30 is ideal for direct
connections with sprinkler heads and
drop nipples. The MT-90 is the BSPT
equivalent.

Size Range — 1/2" thru 8" pipe
Material — Carbon Steel, Mil. Galvanized to G90
specifications
Function — For fire sprinkler and other general piping
purposes. Knurled swivel nut design permits hanger
adjustment after installation.
Features —
• (1/2" thru 2") Flared edges ease installation for
all pipe types and protect CPVC plastic pipe from
abrasion. Captured design keeps adjusting nut
from separating with hanger. Hanger is easily
installed around pipe.
• (21/2" thru 8") Spring tension on nut holds it
securely in hanger before installation. Adjusting
nut is easily removed.
Approvals — Underwriters' Laboratories listed (1/2"
thru 8") in the USA (UL) and Canada (cUL) for steel
and CPVC plastic pipe and Factory Mutual Engineering
Approved (3/4" thru 8"). Conforms to Federal
Specifications WW-H-171 E, Type 10 and Manufacturers
Standardization Society SP-69, Type 10.
Maximum Temperature — 650'F
