state and local regulations. If the contractor is not licensed as required by law, both the owner and contractor lay be

Old Sanctuary front porch overhang
Dear Mr. Smith:
After looking at the settling that has occured in the overhang on
the front of the old sanctuary at First Baptist Church,'I am of the
opinion that this settlement is due primarily to the deterioration of
the four existing wood support columns. The overhang can be restored
to a level position by simply replacing the support columns after
jacking the structure to it's original position. I have reviewed your
sketches for proposed/column replacement and it appears that your method
of repair is satisfactory. The proposed pipe-jack assemblies that will
be encapsulated in the new aluminum ornamental columns appear to be a
good solution.
Because the work proposed consists of replacing, existing support
columns, the work should not require engineering drawings or calculations.
