Date: 2/15/94 Mr. Leheup: Per our conversation on this date, I am approving the plan as submitted, for the building of the 1 hour rated fire wall, seperating the east and west halves. In general there are three areas of concern in subdividing this building. First, the 1 hour rated fire wall. This item is addressed by permitting and const- ruction of the wall with UL U469 classification. This shall separate the east and west halves as well as separation between the office area and the storage area on the east side. Access to the bathrooms will be allowed provided you construct the proper 1 hour encl- osure and install a rated door and assembly. This wall must be completed prior to occupancy of tne east side. Secondly, I need current hydraulic calculations, from the sprinkler company, based on the fire load conditions of the new tenants storage contents. Verification of the sprinkler system, for this ordinary hazard condition, must be submitted prior to occupancy. The last area of concern is the building's fire alarm system/plans shall be submitted and approved for one fire alarm system for the entire building. This could be accomplished by utilizing the new system installed by Sears and expanding upon it. Each occup- ancy shall be appro~riataly zoned for smoke detectors, duct detectors, and pull boxes. The sprinkler system shall be independently zoned. Any general alarm in any zone shall send notification to all portions of the building.
