component parts of Aluminum Speciality Structures. The manual
Is applicable to any building code that has the same wind load
and/or dead load plus live load as the Standard Building Code
1994 edition. The fOllowing is the designers Interpretation of

Pinellas County require a specific wind velocity load of 102 MPH. this
designer has provided wind loads of 110 & 120 MPH for other areas of
the West coastal areas of the Tampa Bay area.
All tables furnished are for extrusions most common to this area and

suppliers and contractors should! specify when ordering Is shown in the
applicable tables.
Wind loads for screened surfaces are the same for all wind conditions.

FRAME CONSTRUCTION: All frame sections are comprised of
extruded poly vinyl chloride (P.V.C.) with a minimum wall
thickness of .070 inch. Sill sections have a wall thickness
of .080 inch. Sections are multi-chambered for additional
structural strength. The model #302 Double Hung has an
extruded aluminum horizontal stiffener rail with a wall
thickness of .050 inch which has an electrostatically applied
and baked on painted finish. It is fastened at the jamb
centers with two (2) #8 x 3/4 inch stainless steel screws.
The frame depth of each model is a minimum of 3 1/4 inches
thick, which does not include the integral screen channel.
Each frame corner is fastened with three (3) #8 x 1 1/2 inch
stainless steel screws. The sill-jamb joints are sealed with
a pre-formed gasket seal prior to assembly. The head-jamb
joints are sealed with small joint sealant after assembly.
The model #302 Double Hung has a hospital sill with a seven
(7) degree slope to the exterior for positive water drainage.
The model #322-#332 horizontal slider has a multi-chambered
internal weepage system to allow for positive water drainage.
SASH CONSTRUCTION: All sash sections are comprised of
extruded poly vinyl chloride (P.V.C.) with a wall thickness
of .070 inch. All model #302 Double Hung Horizontal sash
rails and model #322-#332 Horizontal Slider Vertical sash
rails are re-inforced by an extruded aluminum "I" beam, with
a wall thickness of .050 inch. All sash rails are notched,
coped, and fastened at each corner with one (1) # 8 x 1 1/2
inch stainless steel screw. All sash rails are double
weather stripped with .187 x .250 inch extruded dual fin seal
weather stripping. The model #322-#332 Horizontal Slider
meeting rails are weather stripped with .187 x .350 inch
extruded dual fin seal weather stripping. The model #302
Double Hung bottom sash horizontal rail is weather stripped
with an additional dual durameter bulb vinyl sweep. The
bottom horizontal sash rails of each model are weeped for
positive water drainage.

GLAZING: All sash and picture window frames are glazed with
7/8 inch thick hermetically sealed insulated glass utilizing
two (2) 1/8 inch glass Lites and a 5/8 inch aluminum air
spacer. Insulated glass units over eighteen (18) square feet
in area are comprised of 3/16 inch plate glass Lites. The
chambered aluminum air spacer is filled with desiccant, a
molecular sieve which absorbs any moisture which may be
present during the hermetical sealing process. An extruded
marine grade flexible vinyl is wrapped around the insulated
glass units prior to glazing of the sash rails. All sash
frames are squared diagonally with the sash rails
straightened during assembly.
HARDWARE: All sash caps, tilt latches, finger tabs,
ventilation locks, balance carrier shoes, roller housings,
balance caps, and bushings are internally mounted and
comprised of moulded lexan vinyl. Dual sash locks and
keepers are comprised of die cast zinc with a powder coat
painted finish. Model #302 Double Hung sash pivot bars and
balancer coil springs are comprised of roll form tempered
stainless steel. Model #322-#332 Horizontal Slider rollers,
four (4) per sash are comprised of brass and mounted in a
moulded lexan vinyl housing. Sash hardware is fastened with
stainless steel screws penetrating through the extruded
aluminum "I" beam sash re-inforcement.
SCREENS: All screen frames are comprised of extruded
aluminum with a wall thickness of .050 inch, which has an
electrically applied and baked painted finish. Screen mesh
is comprised of 18 x 16 fiberglass woven charcoal mesh which
is fastened into the screen rails with an extruded vinyl
screen spline. Screen rails are weather stripped with .187 x
.250 inch woolpile. Screen handles are comprised of roll
form painted aluminum.
