Dear Mr. Vickery:
On 7/19/99 your company purchased a permit to install a carport at the referenced address. At
your request our office performed footer, slab and driveway inspections on 7/21/99,
We found the footer and slab to be satisfactory and passed that part ofthe inspection, I wrote a
correction regarding the driveway. You requested another driveway inspection for 7/22/99 at
which time I also found this to be satisfactory and passed this inspection. You requested a final
inspection for 7/28/99 at which time I found that the carport in question was encroaching upon the
side setbacks. A correction was written and left at the job site.
On or about 7/30/99 I spoke with your son Jeff Vickery and explained to him what needed to be
done and he said he would relay the message. To date you have not requested a final re-inspection.
Pursuant to SBCCI Southern Building Code 104,6.1 a permit shall not be abandoned for a period
of more than six (6) months. You will be required to purchase another permit at today's prices,
should there be a difference. Also you must bring the carport up to code as it pertains to the
building setbacks,
You will have five (5) days from receipt of this letter to contact this office to set up a satisfactory
solution to this problem.
