Job # 3485 Dear Randy: This letter is to confirm our telephone conversation regarding the contractor's desire to change the construction of the foundation piers and building anchoring on the above referenced project. It is my understanding that the contractor wishes to construct the support piers as follows: Install a 4" thick X 16" square concrete base pad, then "dry- stack" 8" X 16" block (cells running vertically). Place this pier configuration at each pier place shown on the "Foundation & Floor Framing Plan"; then anchor the addition by installing a helical type ground anchor next to each pier with a metal strap wrapped around the floor beam. This revised construction method is structurally acceptable. If you need any further assistance, with this matter, please give me a call.
