MR-l00, 200 SERIES MULTI-VOLTAGE CONTROL RELAYS
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The MR Series Multivoltage Control Relays offer SPOT
or OPOT 10 amp resistive contacts which may be
operated by one of four input control voltages, A single
relay may be energized from a voltage source of 24
V.D,C" 24 V,AC., 115 V.AC., or 230 V.AC, by wiring
to appropriate input terminals.
Each relay position contains a red light emitting
diode (LED) which indicates the relay coil is ener-
gized. Relays may be "snapped apart" from a standard
4 module assembly and used independently.
These devices are ideal for applications where local
contacts are required for system status, remote
contacts for control of electrical loads and general
purpose switching. They are suitable for use with
H.V.A.C., Temperature Control, Fire Alarm, Security,
Energy Management, and Lighting Control Systems.

The ESL 449/448 Series self-diagnostic, four-wire
smoke detectors continually monitor their own
sensitivity and operational status, and provide a
visual trouble indication if they drift out of sensi-
tivity range or fail internal diagnostics, This
unique, patented technology meets NFPA 72 field
sensitivity testing requirements without the need
for external meters.
Additional diagnostic information is activated by
applying a magnet near the detector's integral
reed switch, This initiates a self-diagnostic
routine and provides visual indication of sensitivity
level, or if service is required,
This series is easily cleaned by simply replac-
ing ESL's proprietary field-replaceable optical
chamber. All models are designed to reduce false
alarms from dust, insects, RFI, and external light.
An integral combination rate-of-rise and fixed
1350F (570C), 50-foot rated, heat sensor is avail-
able with all "T" model detectors (see selection
guide), allowing latching of the alarm for either
smoke or heat. The 449CSRH includes an isolated
alarm output for heat and activates an internal
non-latching sounder (local alarm) for smoke,
making it ideal for motel/hotel and dormitory
rooms where smoking is permitted.

ESL 449 Series Smoke Detectors
Architectural and Engineering Specifications
The ESL 449 Series low-profile, self-diagnostic, four-wire smoke
detectors work on the light scattering principle, A pulsed infrared
light-emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high-speed
photodiode as the sensing element. When the amount of light
reflected onto the photodiode reaches the sensitivity setting, the
smoke sampling rate increases. Three (3) successive smoke
sensings above the sensitivity setting are required to sound an alarm.
This design has superior protection against false alarms caused by
dust, insects, RF and ambient-light.
A confirmed alarm causes the normally flashing power indicator LED
to light continuously and the alarm relay to operate. A trouble
indication is automatically displayed by flashing the LED every
second. This meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements,
An internal 85 dB horn (available in "S" models) emits a steady tone
when the detector alarms and a pulsed tone when power polarity is
reversed.

FAS-31XT replaces the RJ31Xjack with a protected version. Four screw termi-
nals are provided to wire the protector in the same manner as a standard RJ3IX
jack, The FAS-31XT can be used alone or as an accessory to the TS-500G or TS-
500F AC Power Surge Protector. The TS-500G and TS-500F provide a conve-
nient grounding point for the FAS-31XT I FAS- TEL ground wire"
The FAS-TEL is nearly identical to the FAS-31XT except without the shorting
bars, Two screw terminals are provided to connect Telco Line to protector,
Protected equipment such as modems are plugged into female modular jack
on the FAS- TEL.

Installation can be close-nipple up to a distribution panel/circuit or hard wired in
parallel up to power supply--input tenninal screws. Be sure to dress leads as short as
possible,
The EMC is a rugged, highly reliable panel surge protector for residential or com-
mercial standard l20/240V single or split phase applications.
The EMC features totally solid -state construction for reliability and quick response
to surges. Two advanced, metal oxide varistors (MOV) are the primary protective ele-
ments. These MOV s are each capable of 40,000 amps of surge current.
The protection components are designed to fail shorted and are fused. After a surge,
the suppressor automatically recovers and is ready for the next surge. In a rare
event of MOV failure, the fuse opens and the indicator LED extinguishes,

The ESL 449/448 Series self-diagnostic, four-wire
smoke detectors continually monitor their own
sensitivity and operational status, and provide a
visual trouble indication if they drift out of sensi-
tivity range or fail internal diagnostics, This
unique, patented technology meets NFPA 72 field
sensitivity testing requirements without the need
for external meters.
Additional diagnostic information is activated by
applying a magnet near the detector'sintegral
reed switch, This initiates a self-diagnostic
routine and provides visual indication of sensitivity
level, or if service is required,
This series is easily cleaned by simply replac-
ing ESL's proprietary field, replaceable optical
chamber. All models are designed to reduce false
alarms from dust, insects, RFI, and external light.
An integral combination rate-of-rise and fixed
1350F (570C), 50-foot rated, heat sensor is avail-
able with all "T" model detectors (see selection
guide), allowing latching of the alarm for either
smoke or heat. The 449CSRH includes an isolated
alarm output for heat and activates an internal
non-latching sounder (local alarm) for smoke,
making it ideal for motel/hotel and dormitory
rooms where smoking is permitted.

ESL 449 Series Smoke Detectors
Architectural and Engineering Specifications
The ESL 449 Series low-profile, self-diagnostic, four-wire smoke
detectors work on the light scattering principle. A pulsed infrared
light-emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high-speed
photodiode as the sensing element. When the amount of light
reflected onto the photodiode reaches the sensitivity setting, the
smoke sampling rate increases, Three (3) successive smoke
sensings above the sensitivity setting are required to sound an alarm.
This design has superior protection against false alarms caused by
dust, insects, RF and ambient-light.
A confirmed alarm causes the normally flashing power indicator LED
to light continuously and the alarm relay to operate, A trouble
indication is automatically displayed by flashing the LED every
second, This meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements.
An internal 85 dB horn (available in "S" models) emits a steady tone
when the detector alarms and a pulsed tone when power polarity is
reversed.

FAS- TEL and FAS-31XT
RJ~ I RJ31X TelephoneJrrotectio1 if t t -L, 1
The FAS- TEL and FAS-31XT are single pair Telephone or Data Line Protectors
that implement advanced two-stage hybrid design. These units address over volt-
age transients with silicon breakover devices, while sneak and fault currents are
mitigated with new PTC technology which consists of solid state resettable fuses,
FAS-31XT replaces the RJ31X jack with a protected version. Four screw tenni-
na1s are provided to wire the protector in the same manner as a standard RJ31X
jack, The FAS-31XT can be used alone or as an accessory to the TS-500G or TS-
500F AC Power Surge Protector. The TS-500G and TS-500F provide a conve-
nient grounding point for the FAS-31XT / FAS-TEL ground wire,
The FAS-TEL is nearly identical to the FAS-31XT except without the shorting
bars. Two screw terminals are provided to connect Telco Line to protector,
Protected equipment such as modems are plugged into female modular jack
on the FAS-TEL.

The EMC is a rugged, highly reliable panel surge protector for residential or com-
mercial standard l20/240V single or split phase applications.
The EMC features totally solid -state construction for reliability and quick response
to surges. Two advanced, metal oxide varistors (MOY) are the primary protective ele-
ments, These MOV s are each capable of 40,000 amps of surge current.
The protection components are designed to fail shorted and are fused. After a surge,
the suppressor automatically recovers and is ready for the next surge, In a rare
event of MOV failure, the fuse opens and the indicator LED extinguishes,

The ESL 449/448 Series self-diagnostic, four-wire
smoke detectors continually monitor their own
sensitivity and operational status, and provide a
visual trouble indication if they drift out of sensi-
tivity range or fail internal diagnostics, This
unique, patented technology meets NFPA 72 field
sensitivity testing requirements without the need
for external meters,
Additional diagnostic information is activated by
applying a magnet near the detector's. integral
reed switch, This initiates a self-diagnostic
routine and provides visual indication of sensitivity
level, or if service is required,
This series is easily cleaned by simply replac-
ing ESL's proprietary field-replaceable optical
chamber, All models are designed to reduce false
alarms from dust, insects, RFI, and external light.
An integral combination rate-of-rise and fixed
1350F (570C), 50-foot rated, heat sensor is avail-
able with all liT" model detectors (see selection
guide), allowing latching of the alarm for either
smoke or heat. The 449CSRH includes an isolated
alarm output for heat and activates an internal
non-latching sounder (local alarm) for smoke,
making it ideal for motel/hotel and dormitory
rooms where smoking is permitted.

ESL 449 Series Smoke Detectors
Architectural and Engineering Specifications
The ESL 449 Series low-profile, self-diagnostic, four-wire smoke
detectors work on the light scattering principle, A pulsed infrared
light-emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high-speed
photodiode as the sensing element. When the amount of light
reflected onto the photodiode reaches the sensitivity setting, the
smoke sampling rate increases. Three (3) successive smoke
sensings above the sensitivity setting are required to sound an alarm.
This design has superior protection against false alarms caused by
dust, insects, RF and ambient-light.
A confirmed alarm causes the normally flashing power indicator LED
to light continuously and the alarm relay to operate, A trouble
indication is automatically displayed by flashing the LED every
second. This meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements.
An internal 85 dB horn (available in "S" models) emits a steady tone
when the detector alarms and a pulsed tone when power polarity is
reversed.

The FAS-TEL and FAS-31XT are single pair Telephone or Data Line Protectors
that implement advanced two-stage hybrid design, These units address over volt-
age transients with silicon breakover devices, while sneak and fault currents are
mitigated with new PTC technology which consists of solid state resettable fuses,
.
FAS-31XT replaces the R131X jack with a protected version. Four screw termi-
nals are provided to wire the protector in the same manner as a standard RJ31X
jack. The FAS-31XT can be used alone or as an accessory to the TS-500G or TS-
500F AC Power Surge Protector. The TS-500G and TS-500F provide a conve-
nient grounding point for the FAS-31XT I FAS-TEL ground wire"
The FAS-TEL is nearly identical to the FAS-31XT except without the shorting
bars. Two screw terminals are provided to connect Telco Line to protector,
Protected equipment such as moderns are plugged into female modular jack
on the FAS-TEL.

Installation can be close-nipple up to a distribution pane1lcircuit or hardwired in
parallel up to power supply--input terminal screws. Be sure to dress leads as short as
possible.
The EMC is a rugged, highly reliable panel surge protector for residential or com-
mercial standard 120/240V single or split phase applications.
The EMC features totally solid -state construction for reliability and quick response
to surges. Two advanced. metal oxide varistors (MOY) are the primary protective ele-
ments. These MOVs are each capable of 40.000 amps of surge current.
The protection components are designed to fail shorted and are fused, After a surge.
the suppressor automatically recovers and is ready for the next surge. In a rare
event of MOV failure. the fuse opens and the indicator LED extinguishes.
