Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work authorized by such permit is commenced within six months of issuance, or if work authorized by the permit is suspended or abandoned for 'a period of six months after the time the work is commenced. One 90 day extension of time may be allowed for the permit with fee charge of $15.00. The extension shall be requested in writing to the Building Official. An approved inspection must be logged during each six month period, or the project will be considered abandoned. In regards to uses, one is service oriented (salon) while the other is retail (sandwich shop). However, when you look at the real amount of "transportation impact" (as it relates to transportation impact fees) I think that a strong case can be made that they are about equal...mainly do to the fact that the sandwich shop is walk up only and not a drive thru (which would change the story here). So to answer your question, yes...1 do believe that they are a wash. I look forward to seeing you on the 27th at 5 pm...Steve and I talked today and we will be meeting a bit before the city council meeting to discuss the TIF and Fire and police impact fees.
