Communicator
The speed, reliability and value
of digital communications from
the company you can trust
As pioneers in digital fire technology, Silent Knight delivers superior systems at an outstanding value. Our 5104
Fire Control Communicator has become the industry standard by proving itself in years of field-tested operation.
This six-zone fire control communicator provides fast, reliable digital communication of fire and trouble
conditions. It transmits via ordinary phone lines - eliminating the need for expensive leased line arrangements.
Use it as a stand-alone, or incorporate it into your existing system Why spec any other digital communicator? Go
with the industry standard - the 5104 Fire Control Communicator from Silent Knight. For more information,
please call 1-800-446-6444, or in Minnesota, call (763) 493-6435.
Model 5104
Fire Control Communicator
The Silent Knight Model 5104 is a
six-zone fire control communicator
providing digital fire reporting over
ordinary telephone lines,
eliminating the need for costly
leased lines, It's UL 864 and NFPA
72 approved for monitoring local
evacuation controls.
As a stand-alone unit, it can be
used to monitor:
. Sprinkler systems for waterflow,
supervisory, and gate valve
tamper conditions.
. Automatic fire detection systems
for structures that are not
required to have a fire alarm
system but want property
protection (e.g. to call the fire
department after hours).
. Monitors dry contact alarms,
trouble and supervisory outputs,
then transmits a separate code
for each.
The Model 5104 is fully supervised.
Its microprocessor constantly runs
programs to monitor AC, standby
battery, zone inputs and telephone
line connections. If a fault condition
is detected, it sounds a local
trouble audible and reports the
condition to the central station. If
one of the telephone lines faults for
more than 60 seconds, it will
automatically switch to the other to
report the failure.
The communicator will signal
activation, restoration and trouble
conditions on any of six inputs. If
an application requires a different
input configuration, the individual
input styles may be changed by
using a Model 7181 Fire Zone
Converter Module. The 7181 also
allows use of two-wire type smoke
detectors, instead of the normal
four-wire contact type, for
automatic fire detection
applications,
Features
. UL 864 Listed for NFPA 72 Central
Station and Remote Supervising
Station Fire Alarm System Service.
. FM approved.
. Can be used as a stand-alone or as
a Slave DACT.
. Six fully supervised inputs: one
Class A (Style D) input, and five
Class B (Style A) inputs.
. Downloadable for remote
programming.
. Fuseless overload protection with
automatic reset circuitry and fault
indicators - eliminates the cause of
most field calls.
Mockt15104
. Dual phone line interface Automatic
self tests every 24 hours with report
sent to central station.
. Reports in SIA and most major
communications formats.
. 60 hours of standby power.
. Operates on loop start phone lines
ahead of the building PBX system.
. A single, programmable output is
provided for alarm or dialer failed
conditions (cannot be used for
evacuation purposes).

'Operating the horn in this mode at this vo~age will result in not meeting the minimum UL reverberant sound level required for public mode fire protection selVice. These set-
tings are acceptable only for private mode fire alarm use. Use the high dBA setting for public mode application (not applicable when using the chime tone, The chime tone is
always private mode).
Notes: The sound output for the temporal 3 tone is rated lower since the time the horn is off is averaged into the sound output rating. While the horn is producing a tone in
the temporal 3 mode its sound pressure is the same as the continuous mode,
To obtain the horn/strobe current draw, add the strobe current draw and the horn current draw.

Easy to I nstall and Operate
The PS-DAlPS-SA Pull Stations are non-coded manual pull stations which provide a Fire Alarm Control Panel
(FACP) with a single alarm initiating input signal. The PS-DAlPS-SA pull stations includes both single-action and
dual-action models equipped with key lock I reset.lt was designed to meet multiple applications with the installer
and end-user in mind. Its innovative design, durable construction, and multiple mounting options make the PS-
DA and PS-SA simple to install, maintain, and operate.
OperatIon
The single-action pull-station is
activated by a single pull-down of
the alarm handle. The dual-action
versions require pushing in the
handle, then pulling the handle
down for activation. The PS-
DAlPS-SA manual pull stations are
UL listed and meet the ADA
requirement of a 5-lbs. maximum
pull force to activate. Operating
instructions are molded into the
handle along with Braille text.

The i3 Sensitivity Reader
dramatically simplifies sensitivity
measurement. Using an infrared
signal, the reader measures i3
detectors in a matter of seconds,
and eliminates the need for
voltmeters, magnets and a physical
connection to the detector. The
reader displays sensitivity in terms
of percent per foot obscuration,
and provides a text status
indication.
(i;) Accessories
The i3 Loop Test/Maintenance
Module optimizes the capabilities
of the i3 series. The module
interprets the i3 remote
maintenance signal, provides a
visual indication when a two-wire
i3 detector requires cleaning and
transmits the maintenance signal
to the paneL The module offers
additional capabilities including
the EZ Walk loop test, a style D
initiating circuit and an interface
for two-wire detectors to be used
on a four-wire loop.
The i3 Removal Tool makes
servicing i3 detectors simple. The
removal tool attaches to a
standard extension pole or broom
handle, and its design is ideal for
high ceiling installations, to reduce
maintenance time to a minimum.
