Voice Evacuation
Control Panel
Overview
The DVS Series Voice Evacuation Control Panel (VECP) contains a state of the
art 25 or 50 watt high efficiency, digital power amplifier for use in
life-safety applications. The DVS-25 and the DVS-50 are packed with options to
enhance the voice evacuation package and to significantly increase the ease of
installation.
Features such as the supervised internal microphone, low current chaw, undistorted
25 or 50 Watt sine power, standard digital message unit and four speaker loop
outputs make the DVS-25 or the DVS-50 the ideal choice for critical life safety
applications. Sixty seconds of pre-recorded voice messages can be programmed
into the digital message unit. These messages can be activated by either 24 VDC
polarity reversing or dry-contact inputs.
A built-in auxiliary audio input allows the DVS to interf8ce to telephone paging
systems increasing the functionality of the system and adding to the
value offered to the end-user. Additional non-fire emergency messages can
be added to the system and used to alert building occupants of conditions
such as weather alerts, chemical spills and gas leaks. Custom
programmed messages and alert tones are also available.
Diagnostic meter bars, which indicate speaker load or signal levels on the audio
channels, plug in terminal connections and an installer's system test button make
the DVS one of the most installer friendly panels on the market. SigCom's intel-
ligent overload protection feature limits the output power to a maximum preset
level. This protects the panel without disconnecting the load and disabling the
evacuation system.

Description
The Radionics' 07045 Multiplex Fire Alarm Pull Station is a
single action, UL listed fire alarm initiating device. The 07045
has an easily identifiable pull down lever and contains an
integral break glass rod carrier.
The 07045 is compatible with the following accessory
devices:
. 0463 Oouble Action Lift Kit
. 0464 Red, Oeep Back Box
. 0465 Glass Break Tubes
The unit is a high quality manual fire alarm box constructed
entirely of non-toxic materials with a low profile and rounded
edges to fit most design applications. All components are
prepainted or have plated surfaces to inhibit corrosion. Non-
corroding screw terminals are provided for wire connections
to the 07045.
The 07045 is manufactured in conformance with the
standards set forth in the Americans with Oisabilities Act.
The 07045 has a white pull down lever in its center. Pulling
down the lever latches it into place. The 07045's normally
open contact switch is shorted causing an alarm on the fire
initiating loop. The pull down lever can not be reset unless
the correct key is inserted into the manual fire alarm box
lock and the unit is opened. The latching lever can then be
restored to its normal position.
When the 07045 is being reset and has a glass break rod
installed, all debris must be removed prior to installing another
rod to ensure the unit will dose and lock securely.
07045 Manual Fire Alarm Pull Station
Application
The 07045 Manual Fire Alarm Pull Station is an accessory
device for the Radionics 07024 FACP used in fire alarm
applications. Fire alarm boxes are generally installed near
building fire exits such as lobbies or stairways. Persons
evacuating the building during an emergency are able to
initiate an alarm by pulling down a lever. This alerts others
who may still be inside. Schools, factories, offices, and health
care facilities are typical applications.
The snap lock feature of the 07045 prevents the unit from
being reset without a key so the origin of the alarm can be
more easily determined.
Installation
The Radionics' 07045 Manual Fire Alarm Pull Station is a
UL listed fire alarm initiating device. The 07045 is installed
alone or with other approved mechanical devices on
Radionics 07024 FACP. Fire alarm boxes must be installed
according to codes set by the authority having jurisdiction.
The 07045 mounts to a standard flush or surface mounted
single gang switch box or plaster ring. Slotted screw holes
allow for correct positioning during installation.
Two corrosion resistant screw terminals are provided for wire
connections. All wiring and installation is subject to the
authority having jurisdiction.
Install, test and maintain this device according to the
Installation Guide, NFPA 72, Local Codes and the Authority
Having Jurisdiction. Failure to follow these procedures may
result in failure of the device to operate property. Radionics
is not responsible for devices that are improperty installed,

Heat Detectors
Section: Conventional Initiating Devices
GENERAL
The HD-GOO Heat Detector is attractive, durable, and fea-
tures combination rate-of-rise and fixed-temperature de-
tectors. Heat detectors are available in 1350F (570C) and
2000F (940C) temperature ratings.
Rate-of-rise elements detect heat by quickly responding to
rapid temperature increase. HD-600 detectors use the
same reliable pneumatic rate-of-rise element used in former
models, but offer added aesthetic appeal. The pneumatic
rate-of-rise element responds to a rapid rise in tempera-
ture, approximately 150F (80C) per minute, by expansion
of air within the sealed chamber faster than it can escape
through a calibrated vent The resultant increase in pres-
sure depresses the diaphragm, causing the electrical con-
tact to close the circuit HD-600 rate-of-rise units have a
wide spacing allowance of 50-foot (15.24-meter) centers.
See Specifications table (page 2) for details.
Fixed-temperature elements react to heat by responding
to a specific temperature setting. The fixed-temperature
element uses a fusible alloy. When activated, the external
heat collector drops away to provide quick visual confirma-
tion that the element has operated.
The units protrude only 1-3/8" (34.925 mm) from the ceil-
ing surface with a junction box mounting. They have pleas-
ing contours and an all-white finish that conforms to ceiling
aesthetics.
FEATURES
. Rate-of-rise and fixed-temperature.
. One- or two-circuit, normally open.
. Easy installation.
. Low-profile design.
. Visual indication.
. Operation testing.
INSTALLATION
Each detector includes a patented reversible mounting
plate. In one position, it easily attaches to a 3-1/4" (82.55
mm) octagonal box or 4" (101.60 mm) junction box.
In reverse, the plate can be used for open wiring without a
junction box. A 1/4" (6.35 mm) space between detector
and mounting surface allows for wire connections. All
mounting screws are concealed.
The detector attaches simply to the mounting plate with a
push and twist motion. No special tools are required.
The mounting plate is molded of white self-extinguishing
thermoplastic rated at 1050C. The plate is extremely strong,
yet adapts to uneven mounting surfaces.

Description
The D343 Air Duct Smoke Detector Housing is designed to
mount to the ducts of HVAC systems to monitor the presence
of smoke in the conditioned air. It is designed to work with the
Radionics D7024 24 VAC Fire Alarm Control/Communicator
with the D7039 Multiplexer Expansion Module installed.
The efficient housing design samples the air passing through
a duct and allows the detection of a potentially hazardous
condition. When smoke is detected, the detector sends an
alarm signal to the control panel and/or HVAC control
equipment which will initiate the necessary action to control
air handling systems.
Application
The D343 Air Duct Smoke Detector Housing is designed to
operate on a Multiplex Bus loop.
The D343 Air Duct Smoke Detector Housing is designed to be
used in air handling systems with ducts between 1 foot (30.5
em) and 10 ft. (3.05 m) wide having air velocities between 300
and 4000 ft. per minute (1.52 to 20.3 m/s).
System testing may be accomplished by placing an extemal
magnet on the detector housing or by switching a signal from
a remote test station.(Requires an extemal 24 V supply).
The system may be reset by pushing rest at the panel, if using
smoke power, or by power down, if using a listed external
supply.
