NOTICE OF DEED RESTRICTIONS: The undersigned understands that this permit may be subject to "deed" restrictions"
which may be more restrictive than County regulations. The undersigned assumes responsibility for compliance with any
applicable deed restrictions. .
UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS AND CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: If the owner has hired a contractor or
contractors to undertake work, they may be required to be licensed in accordance with state and local regulations. If the
contractor is not licensed as required by law, both the owner and contractor may be cited for a misdemeanor violation
under state law. If the owner or intended contractor are uncertain as to what licensing requirements may apply for the
intended work, they are advised to contact the Pasco County Building Inspection Division-Licensing Section at 727-847-
8009. Furthermore, if the owner has hired a contractor or contractors, he is advised to have the contractor(s) sign
portions of the "contractor Block" of this application for which they will be responsible. If you, as the owner sign as the
contractor, that may be an indication that he is not properly licensed and is not entitled to permitting privileges in Pasco
County.
TRANSPORTATION IMPACT/UTILITIES IMPACT AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FEES: The undersigned understands
that Transportation Impact Fees and Recourse Recovery Fees may apply to the construction of new buildings, change of
use in existing buildings, or expansion of existing buildings, as specified in Pasco County Ordinance number 89-07 and
90-07, as amended. The undersigned also understands, that such fees, as may be due, will be identified at the time of
permitting. It is further understood that Transportation Impact Fees and Resource Recovery Fees must be paid prior to
receiving a "certificate of occupancy" or final power release. If the project does not involve a certificate of occupancy or
final power release, the fees must be paid prior to permit issuance. Furthermore, if Pasco County Water/Sewer Impact
fees are due, they must be paid prior to permit issuance in accordance with applicable Pasco County ordinances.
CONSTRUCTION LIEN LAW (Chapter 713, Florida Statutes, as amended): If valuation of work is $2,500.00 or more, I
certify that I, the applicant, have been provided with a copy of the "Florida Construction Lien Law-Homeowner's
Protection Guide" prepared by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. If the applicant is someone
other than the "owner", I certify that I have obtained a copy of the above described document and promise in good faith to
deliver it to the "owner" prior to commencement.
CONTRACTOR'S/OWNER'S AFFIDAVIT: I certify that all the information in this application is accurate and that all work
will be done in compliance with all applicable laws regulating construction, zoning and land development. Application is
hereby made to obtain a permit to do work and installation as indicated. I certify that no work or installation has
commenced prior to issuance of a permit and that all work will be performed to meet standards of all laws regulating
construction, County and City codes, zoning regulations, and land development regulations in the jurisdiction. I also
certify that I understand that the regulations of other government agencies may apply to the intended work, and that it is
my responsibility to identify what actions I must take to be in compliance. Such agencies include but are not limited to:
Department of Environmental Protection-Cypress Bayheads, Wetland Areas and Environmentally Sensitive
Lands, Water/Wastewater Treatment.
Southwest Florida Water Management District-Wells, Cypress Bayheads, Wetland Areas, Altering
Watercourses.
Army Corps of Engineers-Seawalls, Docks, Navigable Waterways.
Department of Health & Rehabilitative Services/Environmental Health Unit-Wells, Wastewater Treatment,
Septic Tanks.
US Environmental Protection Agency-Asbestos abatement.
Federal Aviation Authority-Runways.
I understand that the following restrictions apply to the use of fill:
Use of fill is not allowed in Flood Zone "V" unless expressly permitted.
If the fill material is to be used in Flood Zone "A", it is understood that a drainage plan addressing a
"compensating volume" will be submitted at time of permitting which is prepared by a professional engineer
licensed by the State of Florida.
If the fill material is to be used in Flood Zone "A" in connection with a permitted building using stem wall
construction, I certify that fill will be used only to fill the area within the stem wall. .
If fill material is to be used in any area, I certify that use of such fill will not adversely affect adjacent
properties. If use of fill is found to adversely affect adjacent properties, the owner may be cited for violating
the conditions of the building permit issued under the attached permit application, for lots less than one (1)
acre which are elevated by fill, an engineered drainage plan is required. . . . . .

app~ied for a permit under an exemption to that law. The exemption allows
you, as the owner of your property, to act as your own contractor with certain
restrictions even though you do not have a ~icense. You must provide direct
onsite supervision of the construction yourse~f. You may bui~d or improve a
one-fami~y or two-family residence or a farm outbuilding. You may also build
or improve a commercial. building, provided your costs do not exceed $25,000.
The buiJ.ding or residence must be for your own use or occupancy. It may not
be built or substantiaJ.~y improved for sale or lease. If you seJ.J. or ~ease a
building you have buiJ.t or substantially improved yourse~f within 1 year after
the construction is compJ.ete, the law wiJ.I presume that you built or
substantiaJ.J.y improved if for sal.e or ~ease, which is a vio~ation of this
exemption. You may not hire an un~icensed person to act as your contractor or
to supervise people working on your building, It is your responsibi~ity to
make sure that peopJ.e employed by you have ~icenses required by state law and
by county or municipal. ~icensing ordinances. You may not de~egate the
responsibiJ.ity for supervising work to a ~icensed contractor who is not

Installation Instructions
ATFAB 9-5 Rib metal roofing panels are a strong, resilient, economical, have an
eye-catching solution to the increasing interest and requests for metal roofing
opportunities of residential homes, commercial applications, agricultural and
utility buildings in Florida.
9-5 Rib metal panels provide a 36-inch coverage with 3/4-inch ribs on nine-inch
centers, and utilize an anti-siphoning channel to provide protection from severe
weather conditions. Both panels and trim are fabricated using state-of-the-art
computerized equipment at our manufacturing facility Plant City, Florida to
assure uniformity and consistency in manufacturing the product.
Panels are roll-formed to the lengths specified by customers in either galvanized,
Galvalume@ or multiple colors of painted 26 gauge and 29 gauge high-tensile
metal, ready for either customer pickup or on-site delivery.
ATFAB also stocks a complete line of fasteners, sealants, and other accessories
to every need of either the do-it-yourself homeowner or roofing contractor. Both
in-stock and custom-made flashings and trims are available in all colors as well.
Two gauges of material are available-26-gauge and 29-gauge metal panels.

A TFAB 9-5 Rib metal panel is manufactured in a bare, Galvalume@ finish in
compliance with ASTM A-653 Structural Steel Grade 80. The AZ-55 Galvalume@
finish is not only durable and cost effective, but provides the reflectivity which is
especially valuable with Southern weather extremes.
The paint system applicable to our product provides exterior protection plus
superior resistance to corrosion and Tuffviolet radiation. All of ATFAB 9-5 Rib
finishes are of the highest quality in the industry.

Typical Eave Detail
For custom eave drip, specify the amount of the eave that will be covered
(dimension "a"), and, for steeper roofs, specify pitch. If fascia is desired, specify
the dimension you order will be concealed by the eave drip.
Eave drip and fascia provide a complete appearance along the drip eave of the
house, as well as providing protection for the materials they cover. The eave drip
should completely cover the top edge of the fascia. Inside closures, provide for
sealing off the open ribs of the panels, as an alternative option.

Preformed Valley
Pre-formed valleys use a diverter to prevent water from rushing under panels on
the opposite side therefore channeling water off the roof. Expanding foam
closures are generally used to assure a good seal.
Gable flashing or equivalent
Gable flashing is used to trim the edge of the roofing panel at the gable end of
the roof. It should match the eave drip extends along the drip edge of the roof. If
the panel is allowed to hang over the gable end, eave drip can be used as an
alternative. Butyl tape between the trim and panel eliminates potential leaks.

Like the ridge cap, the ENDWALL FLASHING diagramed above can be sealed
using outside closures.
End-wall flashing or equivalent is applied where the upward slope of a roof meets
a wall. The wall s.ide of the flashing can be covered with siding or counter-
flashing, and outside closures are used to seal between the flashing and the
panel. Roof slope should be specified when a roof slope exceeds 5/12 pitch.
Transition Flashing or equivalent--prevents leakage at the point where two
different roof pitches meet. It is sealed on the lower side with outside closures,

The transition flashing provides a continuous drainage where two slopes meet.
The Ridge Cap is used to seal the point at which two upward slopes meet. This
can be both along the ridge of the roof as well as a covering for a hip. Either
wood-grip or setf-drilling lap TEK screws are applied through the ribs of the metal
roofing panels,
Debris, insects, prevailing rain can find easy access under the ridge cap, so
closures are often used to either totally or partially seal the opening. Closures
under ridge caps are available in 3 types: solid, vented, and hip valley type.

Pipe Boots provide a water tight seal around roof vents and
come in a variety of sizes. Boots seal with caulk or butyl tape and conform to the
shape of the metal panel ribs.
Roof Pitch
A TF AS panels require a specified degree of pitch to ensure proper water
drainage. The minimum roof slope recommended for all panels is 3 inches of rise
per foot. If the slope of the roof is below a 3/12 pitch, contact our representative
before using metal roofing less than a 3/12 pitch. Florida Building Code
requires a minimum of a 3/12 pitch.
Roof Application
Panel installation should begin at the gable end of the roof opposite the
prevailing rain-bearing wind (this will provide added assurance against wind-
driven rain being forced under the laps). Measure one panel width in from the
roof edge. At this point, chalk a line form ridge to eave. Place a leading edge of
the first panel along this line. It is extremely important that this panel be laid
square to the eave and ridge so that the remaining panels will line up square on
the roof frame. It is wise to have a person at the eave and at the ridge to ensure
that the proper panel coverage is being maintained across the roof. Make sure
that the metal panels are correctly side-lapped.
In applications where end-lapping is required, the upper panel on the slope
should lap over the panel that is lower on the slope. Lower roof pitch requires a
greater amount of panel overlap. All end-lap applications require two horizontal
rows (across the panel) of butyl sealant tape and proper fastening to ensure a
maximum water seal application,
Providing an overhang of 2 to 3 inches is recommended to provide a drip edge,
although only a 1-inch overhang is required where gutters are used. The open
metal panel ribs at the eave can be sealed with inside closures. For maximum
weather-tightness, a row of butyl tape can be applied above and beneath inside
closures.
have a tendency to leave hot metal particles that can bum paint surfaces or leave
rust marks on panels and trim. Likewise, any particles left on the roof caused by
the application of screws must be removed. Care should be taken to remove all
loose particles from roof surfaces after application.
To cut panels lengthwise: Note carefully where the panel is to be cut, and, using
a straightedge, score deeply down the length of the panel with a sharp-pointed
utility knife. Folding the panel along the score mark, and bending back again if
necessary, should produce a clean break in the panel.
Ordering Roof Panels and Screws
Care should be taken when ordering metal panels that correct length
measurements are stated to avoid having to take corrective measures after
purchase. Panel lengths should fall 2 to 3 inches short of the ridge when a
vented ridge is desired and should extend 2 to 3 inches past eave to allow a
sufficient drip edge (except concerning gutters). The ATFAB sales personnel are
ready to assist customers with information specific to their particular metal
roofing needs.
Specially-washered screws applied through the flat of the metal is the
recommended method used to attach metal roofing panels. 1-inch screws can be
used if penetration of only % inch is either necessary or desired; otherwise, #9 x
1-% inch screws are recommended for metal to wood application. 2- ~ inch
screws are also available, and are often applied by installers who hold to
through-the-rib fastening, and for ridge-cap application.
Ordering and Applying Trim
Common flashing for metal roofing is the ridge cap, which is applied at the peak
of a roof where two opposing roof slopes join. Other flashings include transition
flashing, end wall, sidewall flashings and valleys. Eave flashings include
gable flashing and eave drip, which are commonly applied above fascia trim.
For a roof pitch exceeding 5/12 (a 5 inch rise in 12 inches), the slope of the roof
should be specified upon ordering ridge caps, endwalls and eave drip. Verify
local code requirements. Both slopes should be specified when ordering
transition flashing if a steeper roof slope meets a lesser slope,
At the gable edge, the use of gable trim adds to the appearance of the structure
and protects the fly-rafter, and a sidewall flashing is used where the side of a
panel butts up against an adjacent wall. In both instances, the installer/contractor
should be careful to seal between the gable rake or sidewall and panel with butyl
sp~cified separately from that used on the drip edge when ordering.
To'prevent penetration of water, insects, and debris at the ridge, outside closures
may be inserted between the ridge cap and the top end of the panel. Screws are
applied through the ridge cap, closure, and rib in at least every other rib of the
panels. At least a #9 x 1 %" {and up to a 2 %" screw should be used for attaching
ridge caps. Self-drilling lap screws can be used to attach ridge caps.
Keep Metal Roofing Product Materials Dry
Paint and finishes of A TF AS panels and trim are designed to endure severe rain
and wet weather conditions, CAUTION: Neither paint, galvanized, nor
GalvalumeGD finishes, are designed to be in continuous contact with water or
condensation for long periods of time.
Damage will result if uninstalled panels or trim are allowed to remain wet in
storage. Be sure to store material that will not be installed immediately in a dry
location. Wet material should be air-dried and re-stacked if installation
immediate.
NOTE: Plastic should not be used to cover metal panels.
How to Figure Screws:
On low-pitched roofs, butyl tape or caulk should be applied at the
panel lap to keep water from overflowing the lap.
For 2-foot spacing between rows of screws, multiply the total linear feet of metal
times 2.7.
Example: If your order is 1500 feet of 9-5 Rib roofing.
1500 x 2,7 = 4050 screws would be applicable for fastening.

Metal roofing application can be aided by pre-ctrilling panels, allowing screws to
go quickly and accurately into the desired spacing. Pre-drilling will work provided
that pilot holes are placed accurately in the proper locations on panels. Purlin
spacing must be uniform and carefully measured.
High Velocity Wind Zones
For solid decking, at least 112-inch structural plywood or aSB (5/8" for any High
velocity wind zone of 120 and above) supported on rafters at a maximum of
24" on center. Battens: 9-5 Rib Metal Roofing can be separated from the
moisture barrier by minimum, nominal 1 "x3" yellow pine battens spaced on
maximum 24" centers or according to ASCE 7-98 calculations where applicable.
CAUTION: Direct contact between pressure treated lumber, green, damp,
and metal roofing must be avoided in order to prevent potential corrosion
and moisture build-up. The battens must be fastened to the roof deck with
minimum #6 screws at 12" on-center or two minimum 8d common or pneumatic
nails spaced 8" on-center or one every 4" on-center (or by applicable calculations
according to ASCE 7-98.)
Battens must be installed to support the entire width and length of ridge,
eave, hip, valley, and gable end trims. Battens are optional if re-roofing over
shingles.
NOTE: Re-roofing over shingles without a batten is allowed providing the roof
has been checked by a licensed roofing contractor to insure levelness and
pullout integrity.
Purlin spacing can be up to 30 inches for 29-gauge (2 feet is most common) and
up to 4 1/2 feet for 26-gauge roofing.
Screws should be placed on both sides of the ribs on the eave.

required for the project, but it is the customers responsibility to review and verify the
material required to complete the project. Metal Systems will not be held accountable for
incorrect lengths and quantities.

Metal Systems Inc. sells "Secondary" material, (this implies that although much of the
material sold may have imperfections it is usually not noticable when placed beside
"Prime" material, but there will be occasions that a coil will have blemished areas). It is
extremely important that the customer makes sure that all material for the project is
ordered at said time. Metal Systems will make every effort to match colors, however
in purchasing "Secondary" material the color choice can not be controlled. What Metal
Systems has is what Metal Systems sells.

METAL SYSTEMS INC./MMSC extends the following limited warranty to the customers of
METAL SYSTEMS INC./MMSC concerning sales of Millennium Series SMP for use in coating
coils or metal which will be sold by customers of MMSC into components for pre-painted metal
buildings.
This limited warranty applies only to goods identified on MMSC product data sheet as
Millennium Series SMP, which is applied to metal after this document is received and within
one year after delivery in accordance with parameters specified on the product data sheet. It
applies only to goods used on metal buildings installed in tbe continental United States and
Hawaii.
Although it is recognized by METAL SYSTEMS INC./MMSC that most coatings, including
Millennium Series SMP will fade and cbange in appearance to some degree over a period of
time in outdoor installations, and that sucb change may ~ot be uniform between surfaces not
equally exposed, METAL SYSTEMS INC./MMSC warrants that tbe goods covered on tbis
warranty will resist natural weathering to the extent that they will conform to the performance
standards listed below during a twenty-five year period foUowing field installation (five years in
Hawaii), provided that all conditions of this warranty are first met.
1. Millennium Series SMP will not peel, crack, check or blister on flat surface to an extent
that is apparent to 'ordinary outdoor visual observations. ,
2. Vertical installations above 45 degrees from vertical of Millennium Series SMP will not
change more than SEVEN and non-vertical within 45 degrees from vertical installations
will not change more than NINE (Cie Lab) units. Color measurements are to be made
per ASTM D-2244-85 and only on clean surfaces after removing deposits and chalk per :
ASTM D-3964-80 (1985).
3. Vertical installations of Millennium Series Sl\'IP will not chalk more than a number SIX
.rating and non-vertical installations will no chalk more than" a number FOUR rating
when measured per ASTM D-4214-82, method D; and tbis is an anti-weathering limited
warranty and does not apply to otber causes of degradation including:
· Millennium Series SMP which is applied to other than first quality ( not defective or
substrate failure or second grade substrate) Aluminum, Galvalume, Galfan, Galvanized
Steel or Aluminized Type n Steel.
· Millennium Series SMP which is not applied in accordance with the Product Data Sheet
(including galvanized and pretreatment manufacturer) and in accordance with good
practice in the coil coating industry.
· Millennium Series SMP which has suffered scratching, abrasion or impact by hard
objects. .
· Is stored at any time prior to field instaUation contrary to storage instructions issued by
METAL SYSTEMS INC./MMSC or the coil coater.

· Is stored or installed in a way which allows standing in water on the coating or which
occurs in any chemically aggressive environment containing salts or other chemicals or
near any body of salt water, whether naturally occurring or caused by man.
· Is stored or installed in an environment that includes high humidity, sand, dirt, or
grease, whether occurring or produced by man.
· Has suffered any damage caused by acts of God, radiation, falling objects, explosions,
fabrication or other external forces, including conditions which develop between the
coating and the metal which cause the coating to degrade.
This limited warranty is exclusive and is in lieu of any warranty of merchantability, fitness for
a particular purpose, or other warranty or quality, whether expressed or implied, and' whether
written or oral.
Correction of non-conformities in the manner and for the period of the time provided here in
shall constitute fulfillment of all liabilities of METAL SYSTEMS INC.IMMSC with respect to
or arising out of the goods whether based on contract, negligence, strict liability in tort, or
otherwise.
The following are additional conditions precedent to the application of this limited warranty:
1. Each batch of Millennium Series SMP must be checked by the coil coater prior to use to
assure conformance to its own fabrication requirements. METAL SYSTEMS INC.
must also main~~in records for thirty years that will identify the master coil number for
each building erected in the field, whidh shall be available to MMSC on request.
2. The customer of MMSC shall advise, in writing, of any claimed violation of this
warranty within thirty days of receiving notice thereof, and MMSC must promptly be
afforded an opportunity to inspect the installation.
METAL SYSTEMS INC.IMMSC'S liability for breech of this warranty shall be limited
exclusively to the cost of either repairing the defective panels or at METAL SYSTEMS
INC.fMMSC'S sole option, of furnishing sufficient sheet products to the original shipping point
to enable the Buyer to fabricate replacement panels for the defective panels. Replacing or
repairing of the affected panels shall be done in accordance with the standard industry pratice
to provide a uniform appearance with the remainder of the application.
After replacing or repairing the defective panels, the repaired area shall be deemed to have
been installed as of the original installation date for purposes of the application of this
warranty to the repaired area.
METAL SYSTEMS INC.IMMSC shall not in any event be liable for the cost of labor expended
by others on any defective sheet, for any loss of property or equipment, loss of profits or
revenue, cost of capital, cost of purchase or replacement of other goods, claims of customers of
purchaser for buiness or service interruptions not for any special, indirect or consequential
damages to anyone by reason of the fact such panels shall have been defective.

METAL SYSTEMS INC./MMSC may cancel this warranty in thirty days written notice except
with respect to metal already coated Millennium Series SMP under this warranty. This
warranty does not apply to any goods sold prior to the date this document is given. The
customer of MMSC agrees that its use of Millennium Series SMP is made in reliance upon this
warraDty and not upon any other written or oral representation-'of MMSC. This limited
warranty cancels and superseded any other warranty or statement of performance made in the
past or in the future by MMSC unless such statement is made in writing as an express
amendment of this document. In any instance, the determination of MMSC not to exercise any
option hereunder or not to require compliance with any term of condition hereof shall not
constitute a waiver of MMSC's rights to exercise all options and to require compliance with all
terms and conditions hereof on all occasions prior and subsequent to such instance or instances,
and no such determination or series of determinations by MMSC shall constitute an alteration
of the rights and liabilities of MMSC and the customers of MMSC as otherwise set forth herein.
This limited warranty is issued only to the customers of MMSC. It is not transferable or
assignable to any other party. As an inducement for MMSC to make this limited warranty, the
customers of MMSC also agree that it will not itself warrant the performance of products
coated with Millennium Series SMP to any party more cemmercially remote that the original
owners of metal buildings constructed with the products.
It is likewise agreed that this limited warranty does not apply to any Millennium Series SMP or
defect ~hat occurs after the sale or transfer of a metal building constructed of Millennium
Series SMP coated product by its original owner.
