TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION
General: The test specim.en wa.s an eight (8) over eight (8) single hung aluminwnpri1ll.e l.l.lindow
measuring 53-1/8" wide by 76-3/4" high overall. The active sash measure 51-1/8" wide by 38-
1 /2" high. 1he active sash was removable via a single spiral balance system qt each interior jamb
track which hooked onto the metal keepers fastened to the bottom of each sash stile~ Frame and
sash members were not thermally broken. One (1) metal cam-type sweep lock was located at 13"
from each end of the active meeting rail. The fixed meeting rail was of single screwed into each
jamb. An aluminum sash stop was employed at the top of each interior jam track. One (1) plastic
sash guide block was employed 2" from the bottom of each active stile. A plastic stile cap was used
at the top of each active stile. The {u:ed lite and active sash each employed an eight (8) lite
allLminu.m l1/.lul,tin system. The frame was of double screw (#8 x 3/4" pan head) butt.-tJ'pe corner
constru.ction. The sash was of single screws (#8 x 1-3/4" pan headJ- (
Glazing: The fixed lite and active sash were exterior glazed [/'sing sixteen (16) 11.3/8" x 17" lites
ol (0.185") thick annealed glass with an adhesive bedding and an aluminum glazing bead.
Weatherseals: A double strip of center fill, weatherstrip (0.170" high)- was located at each active
stfle. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.170" high) was located at the active meeting rail. A
single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.320" high) was located at the sill. A single strip of single
vunyl wea,therstrip was located at the active bottom mil.

TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION
General: The test specimen was a three panel type "XOO" aluminum sliding glass door
measuring 12'1-114" wide by 6'8" high overall. The left active panel measured 4'0"" wide by 6'6-
, .518" high. the center fixed panel measure 4'0-1/10' wide by 6'6-1/5f5' high, the right fixed panel
:measured 4'1-131l6~ wide by 6'6-518'" high. Frame and panel Jllembers were not thermally broken.
One aluminum retaining angle measuring r xl-1I2"x2"xW thickness was loCated at 4" from
, each end fixed bottom panel using two (2) screws~ One claw-type door lock. a'ssemblywas located at
39-112" from the bottom of each active jamb stile and the center active meeting stile with the
keeper fastened and secured to the exterior jamb track and the left active panel with two (2)
screws at lock position. One (1) adjustable metal single roller assembly' was used at each end of the
active bottom rails. Two 'plastic guide buttons were used at each end of the panel top rail. The
frame was of double screw (#6 x 3/4" pan head) coped corner construction. Panel corners were
single screw (#8 x3/4" pan head) coped corner construction. The interior vertical sill employed a 2"
high sill extension.
, Installation Fasteners: The frame was mounted to the test buck using forty-four (44)
(# 8 x3/4" screws). .
Glazing: All panels were channel glazed using 3116" thick tempered glass with flexible vinyl
glazing bead.
WSTP: A double strip of centerfin weatherstrip (0.290" high) was located at each jamb. A double
strip of centerfin weatherstrip (0.310" high) was located at each interlock stile. A douhle strip of
centerfin weatherstrip (0.430" high) was located at the top rail of each paneL A double strip of
single-leaf vinyllweatherstrip was located at the bottom rail of each panel. A double strip of bulb-
vinyl weatherstrip' was located at the enter panel meeting stile. A single strip ofbulb-vinyl /'

Weeps: One (1) weep hole measuring 7/8" leg height was located at each end of~he interior
vertical sill track, exterior vertical sill track and the exterior vertical sill screen roller leg.
][nterior & Exterior Surface Finish: Mill finish aluminum.

Sealant: frame corners were sealed with a small-joint sealant.
Screen: Two insect screens measuring 4'<r wide by 6'T high and one measuring 3'9-112'" wide by
6'T high. Both were of mitered type corner oonstruction with aluminum corner keys. The screen
employed fiberglass mash cloth with hollow vinyl spline. An adjustable spring loaded single roller
was loacated at each end of the top and bottom rails. .

TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION
General: The test specimen was a three panel type "XOO" aluminum sliding glass door measuring
15'1" wide by 8'0" high overalL The left,active panel measured.5'O-I/4"wide by 1'10-5/8" high, the
center fixed panel measure 5'0-114" wide by 1'10-518" high, the right fixed panel measured 5'1-7/8"
wide by 1'10-5/8" high. Frame and panel members were not thermally broken. One aluminum
retaining angle measuringT' xl-lIT:x2"xl/8" thickness was located at 4" ~m each end fixed bottom
panel using two (2) screws. One (1) claw-type door lock assembly was located at 39-1/2" from the
bottom of each active jamb stile and the center active meeting stile with the keeper fastened and
secured to the exterior jamb track and the left active panel with two (2) screws at lock position. One
(I) adjustable metal single roller assembly was used at each end of the' active bottom rails. Two (2)
plastic guide buttons were used at each end of the panel top rail. The frame was of double screw (#6
x 3/4" pan head) coped corner construction. Panel corners were single screw (#8 x 3/4" pan head)
coped corner construction. The interior vertical sill employed a 2" high sill extension.
Installation Fasteners: The frame was mounted to the test buck using forty-eight (48)
(# 8 x3/4" scre:ws). .
Glazing: All panels were channel glazed using 3/16" thick teinpered glass with flexible vinyl
glazing bead. '
WSTP: A double strip of centerfin weatherstrip (0.290" high) was located at eachJamb. A double
strip of centerfin weatherstrip (O.310" high) was located at each interlock stile. A double strip of
centerfin weatherstrip (0.430" high) was located at the top rail of each paneL A double strip of
single-leaf vinyllweatherstrip was located at the bottom rail of each paneL A double strip of bull?-
yinyl weatherstrip was located at the enter panel meeting stile. A single strip of bulb-vinyl .
weatherstrip was located a,t each interlock stile.

Sealant: frame corners we're sealed with a small-joint sealant.
Screen: Two (2) insect screens measuring 4'9-112" wide by 1'6-112" high and one (1) measuririg 4'8-
1127> wide by 1'6-112" high. Both were of mitered type corner construction with, aluminum comer
keys. The screen employeQ. fiberglass mash cloth with hollow vinyl spline. An ad)ut:table spring
loaded single roller was lc:>cated at each end of the top and bottom rails.

TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION
General.: The lest specimen was an one (1) over one (1) single hung oiruninu.1l1. prime window
mea,';l,m:ng 53-1/8" wide by 76-1/16" high overalL The active sash measu.red 51-3/8" wide by 38-
1 / 4" high. The fixed lite had an ouerall viewing area of 48-5/8" wide by 35" high. The active sash
was rem.ovable vi.a a single spiral balance system at each interior jamb track which hoo/:zed onto
the metal keepers fastened to the bottom of each sa.sh stile. Frame and sash members were not
thermally broken. One (1) metal cam-type sweep lock was located at 13" from each end of the
G.{:tive meeting rail. The fixed meeting rail was of single .screwed into each jamb. An. aluminum
sash stop was employed at the top of each int.erior jam track One (1) plastic sash guide block was
employed 2" from the bottom of eachactiue stile. A plastic stile cap was used at the top of each
a.<.:tiue stile. The frame was or double screw (#8 x 3/4" pan head) butt-type corner constructwn.
The sash wa.s of single screws (#8 x 1-3/4" pan head) screws.
Glazing: The fixed lit.e and active sash were exterwr glazed using 3/16" annealed gia.ss with an
adhesive bedding and an alwninu.m glazing bead.
W.eatherseals: A douqle strip of centerfin weathersirip (0.170" high) was located at each active
stile. A single strip of centerfin weatherstrip (0.170" high) was located at the actiue meeting rail. A
single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.320" high) was located at the $ill. A single strip of single
vnnyl weatherstrip WO.s located at the active bottom rail.
