System Description
D~9412GID7 412G Control/Communicators provide an
integrated solution to Access Control, Security, and Fire
Alarm System applications.
Control/Communicators are capable of monitoring alarm
points for intruder or fire alarms while operating user
command centers, (access readers, door locks-
D7412G1 D9412G), and other outputs. Includes a built-
in digital communicator, which reports events to
selected destinations via 4 programmable route groups.
Programming and accessory modules offer flexibility
and beneficial features rarely found in other security
control systems.
Area Conftgurations
D9412G1D7412G area programming offers you a wide
selection of different system configurations. Each area
is; assigned an account number to define annunciation,
control, and reporting functions. Multiple areas can be
linked to a shared area which is automatically controlled
(hallway or lobby). Area arming can be conditional on
other areas (master/associate).
User Interface
D9412G1D7412G command centers provide on-
premises point and system status annunciation. A fully
selectable user interface can customize command
center displays and simplify operation by creating menu
items and functions, appropriate only to that command
center.
Function Lists can help a user become familiar with the
clperation of the control panel.
Custom functions allow users to perform complex
functions with a few keystrokes. Each may be
programmed and identified by 16 characters of custom
text and contain up to 32 keystrokes.
D1255 Command Center, D1256 Fire Alarm Command
Genter and D1257 Fire Alarm Annunciator use a 16-
character English language display to show system
status, area status (custom text), and point status
(custom text). D720 8-point LED area command center
provides command functions and annunciation for up to
B points in a single area. Any combination of these
<:ommand centers may be used within the same area.
Easy to remember commands like Command 1,
Command 2, and Command 8 make an easy transition
for seasoned Radionics users.
User Passcodes
D9412G1D7412G can accommodate:
I. D7412G: 99 user passcodes
D9412G: 249 user passcodes.
(Each passcode individually programs with 3 to 6
digits in length and no fixed digits).
lEach user is assigned one of 14 customized authority
Ilevels in each area. You may restrict passcodes to
operate only during certain times.
Each user may have a 16-character customized name
that may be viewed, printed, reported to a central station
in Radionics' Modem IIli Communications format or
retrieved with Remote Account Manager (RAM).
Security and Fire Detection
D9412G/D7412G provide eight .on-board" detection
points, and up to 238 additional off-board points
(depending on Model and expansion interfaces). Points
may be individually programmed and used to monitor all
types of burglar alarm, fire alarm, and supervision
devices.
Communications
D9412G/D7412G have four route groups, sort reports
by priority and are capable of transmitting reports to up
to four locations. Each group has a programmable
primary and backup destination. Compatible with D6600
NetCom Communications System using a D9133TTL-E
Ethemet Interface Module. Radionics' Modem II1a2
Communications Format, available with Radionics'
receiver, adds these reporting capabilities. To name just
a few:
. Individual point numbers and text
. Opening/Closing reports by area number
. Remote programming attempts
. Diagnostic reports
. Access control events with user name
Event Log Storage, Viewing and Printing
D9412GID7412G event log automatically stores up to
1 000 events. All local and transmitted events are stored
(some access events are selectable). Event log includes
time, date and event, with area, point and user number.
Users may view event log from Alpha Command
Centers. Events may be retrieved remotely using RAM.
Events are printed as they are stored in event log.
D9131A Parallel Printer Interfaces can be installed to
record events locally on one, two, or three printers
(depending on model). Each can print opening and
closing, access, alarm, Skeds, or any combination of
events. Each can print information from any combination
of areas. Each can supervise various printer status
conditions.
Event log and local printer are ideally suited for
customers who like to have a record of openings and
closings without having extra communications costs.
Logger and RAM, can suppress reports and then
retrieve events periodically using one phone call, rather
than receiving several calls each day.
When the panel's event log reaches its programmed
threshold of stored events, it can send a report to a
receiver to remind central station to retrieve events from
the panel's event log with RAM.

Scheduled Events (Skeds)
D9412G1D7412G internal clock and calendar help the
panel operate individual scheduled events (Skeds).
Skeds perform a specific function (such as arm/disarm,
relay control. point bypassing, etc.). Each Sked is
programmed for a time and day-of-week schedule or a
date-of-year schedule.
Users may change Sked Time if programmed for local
time editing. Holiday schedules can enable or disable
individual Skeds during holiday periods.
. 64 scheduled events with up to 26 different
functions
. Day-of-week or date-of-year schedules
. Four holiday schedules of 366 days each (leap
year)
Fire Test
D9412G/D7412G Fire Test Mode suppresses reports to
the central station receiver so you can test initiating and
indicating devices without transmitting alarms. Initiating
Fire Test Mode, sends "Fire Walk Start" to central
station indicating start ottest. Test events become "local
only.. Command center shows how many points are to
be tested.
Each time a device initiates an alarm, programmed point
text displays at command center and the fire bell rings
for 2 seconds. Automatic sensor reset feature allows
continued testing of devices without time consuming
trips to manually reset sensors. At the end of test,
command center displays the number of untested
points. You can also view point text for each untested
point.
Ending Fire Test Mode, sends "Fire Walk End" to the
central station receiver indicating end of test.
Combining Access Control with Security and Fire
Detection (D7412G/D9412G)
D9412G1D7412G combined systems can help prevent
false alarms making it easy to use one system that
controls access, security, and fire functions.
Access control features of D7412G/D9412G can deny
access during armed periods, grant access only to
certain authorized users depending whether an area is
master armed, perimeter armed or disarmed. Alarm
system can automatically disarm when designated
authorized users are granted access.
. D7412G: Two (2) access doors; 75 detection
points; 396 T okenlUsers
. D9412G: Eight (8) access doors; 246 detection
points; 996 T okenlUsers

Description
Radionics' D1256 Fire Command Center and D1257 Fire
Alarm Annunciator are four-wire serial devices used with the
Radionics' D9124 Addressable 24 VDC Fire Alarm Control/
Communicator and the D9112, D9412, D7212 and D7412
ControVCommunicators. One D1256 is included with the D9124
panel, which can be accessed through the slide door on the
front of the enclosure.
Both annunciators provide English text displays of system events
with highly visible blue vacuum fluorescent displays. A built-in
sounder alerts building personnel to system alarms and
troubles and guides responding agencies to the annunciator
location.
Both units are molded in durable red plastic and have low
profile enclosures. The wording "Fire Alarm Annunciator" is
clearly printed on the faceplate of the D1257. This allows
inspectors, service technicians and responding fire agencies
to identify the annunciator.
The D1256 Fire Command Center is a full-function system
controller and annunciator. Four special one-touch function
keys provide user-friendly control over the system. The function
keys allow the user to silence the audible alarm output, silence
the trouble sounder, reset the annunciator display and reset
system detectors. Four additional navigational keys allow
access to other programmed system functions.
The D1257 Fire Alarm Annunciator provides remote
annunciation capabilities without system control. Similar in
appearance to a D1256 Fire Command Center, yet the D1257
Fire Alarm Annunciator lacks function keys. This makes system
control functions inaccessible to unauthorized persons. Thus,
the D1257 can be placed in locations where the publiC may
have access to it. Two navigational keys allow the user to step
forward or backward through a list of system events.
Fire Command Center and Fire Annunciator
Application
The D1256 can be mounted in secure areas for use as both a
system controller and annunciator.
The D1257 Remote Fire Annunciator is typically installed in
building entrances and areas with unrestricted access. Near
exterior doors in hotel or business lobbies are ideal locations.
This allows a responding agency, or persons evacuating the
building to quickly identify the type and location of the
emergency from outside the building without being in danger.
Both devices have a built-in sounder that allows them to be
installed in locations not in general view. Audible tones alert
personnel to fire system events and assist fire fighters in locating
the annunciator.
Installation
The D1256 and D1257 system annunciators connect to the
fire control/communicator through standard four-wire cable.
Shielded cable may sometimes be required where excessive
EMI is a problem.
The field wiring connects to a four-wire harness supplied with
the unit. This hamess plugs into a four-pin connector on the
circuit board through the back of the D1256 or D1257. Each
unit has three mounting holes in the base that allow secure,
correct positioning during installation.
Do not install the D1256 or D1257 in direct sunlight. This
damages the module components and makes the display less
visible.
Install, test and maintain these devices according to their
Installation Guides, NFPA 72, Local Codes and the Authority
Having Jurisdiction. Failure to follow these procedures may
result in failure of the devices to operate properly. Radionics is
not responsible for devices that are improperly installed, tested
and maintained.
~ Radonics.
Operational Data
The D1256 and D1257 operate through the Serial Device
Interface buss of the controVcommunicators. The D1256 and
D1257 receive serial data and power through a four-wire cable.
Both devices continually show the status of the fire alarm
system. Changes in the normal panel condition such as alarm
or trouble events are displayed in alphanumeric English text
and the appropriate sounder response tone emitted. Resetting
the display and sounder can only be accomplished at the
D1256 Fire Command Center by authorized persons.

Description
The D8132 Battery Charger Module is an accessory
device for Radionics D6112, D7112, D8112, D8124, and
9000 Series control/communicator panels. The D8132
uses a 16.5 VAC, 40 VA plug-in transformer to supply
1200mA of battery charging current. An on-board,
green LED remains lit to indicate the presence of AC
voltage.
The D8132 can be used to increase the standby battery
time of a panel when instaUed with external batteries in
an adjacent approved enclosure. The D8132 is not to
be used as the sole means of standby power for a
panel. One or two 12 VDC, 7 Amp-hour batteries must
still be provided for the panel.
The D8132 can also be used as a stand-alone power
supply in non-UL applications. You can connect one or
two 12 VDC, 7 Amp-hour batteries or one or two 12
VDC, 18 Amp-hour batteries to the D8132 in either
application.
In addition to providing increased standby time and
auxiliary power, batteries connected to the D8132 also
filter the AC power supply. The amount of ripple that
appears on the panel outputs is dependent on .the
charge state of the batteries. Radionics does not
recommend using the D8132 to power devices that are
sensitive to excessive ripple.
Application
The 08132 Battery Charger Module is suitable for
systems requiring extended battery standby time. The
D8132 is UL listed for use in Central Station. Household

cables connect the D8132 to the D1640 transformer,
one or two batteries, and the control/communicator.
Additional hardware is provided for connecting the
battery cable to 12 VDC 18 Amp-hour batteries. This
$ radlonics
hardware is not required when connecting 12 VDC, 7
Amp-hour batteries.
Installation
The D8132 Battery Charger Module and additional
batteries are typically mounted inside a separate
approved enclosure such as the Radionics D8103,
D8108A, or D8109. The enclosure is instaUed adjacent
to the control/communicator enclosure.
The plug-in AC transformer is installed on the same AC
branch circuit as the control/communicator transformer.
No other devices may be connected to the transformer.
A 4-wire harness is used to connect one or two batteries
to the 08132. An additional 4-wire hamess connects to
the AC transformer (2 wires) and the battery terminals of
the control/communicator.
The D8132 installs in the enclosure using three plated
screws supplied with the unit Radionics enclosures
provide module mounting locations with knockouts. Use
a Radionics D137 Mounting Bracket when installing the
D8132 in a non-Radionics enclosure. The D8132
should be mounted towards the top of the enclosure
away from the batteries to avoid overheating.

Bosch Group
Operational Data
When using the D8132 to increase your
controVcommunicator panel standby battery Amp hours,
refer to the appropriate calculation chart contained in
the 08132 Operation and InstaDation Manual (74-
04777-000). These charts detail the Amp-hour
requirements, controVcommunicator AuxUiary current
load, and the D8132 battery recharge time.
The D8132 can also be used as a stand-alone, 12 VDC
1 Amp power supply. For stand-alone applications the
D8132 does not provide battery supervision or load
shed capability and is not recommended for critical
loads. The D8132 is not UL listed for stand-alone
applications.
A form of battery supervision can be provided to a
D8132 in stand-alone configurations when connected to
the same AC branch circuit as the panel. AC power
l'ailures and restorals, which would also affect the
1)8132 module, can be reported by the panel to a
remote receiver. This supervision relies on the
;:issumption that AC power to both devices has been
affected. The Amp-hour rating of batteries on the
108132 should be greater than batteries connected to
the panel. This ensures that devices connected to the
108132 are powered at least as long as those on the
control/communicator.
The stand-alone D8132 and the panel must share a
common ground.

Description
The D8130 Release Module is an accessory for Radionics
Rre Alarm Control/Communicators. The 08130 is suitable
for release applications commonly found in NFPA 72 Local
Fire Alarm Installations.
Two independent Form C dry contacts, each rated at 5 Amps,
connect low voltage circuits to magnetic door holders, pilot
relays, or contractor units, for release function control. Contact
activation on alarm is jumper selectable to be either instant
or delayed by ten seconds. If the delay option is selected, a
ten second delay also occurs upon restoral.
The control/communicator indicating output activates the
contacts of the D8130. A red" ALARM INPUT' LEO is provided
on the 08130 module to indicate contact activation. The
duration of the contact activation follows the programmed
indicating circuit time. If the user silences the alarm output,
the 08130 contacts are deactivated. Latching features must
be provided for pilot relays or contractor units requiring
release control beyond the programmed indicating device
time or after manual silencing of the indicating circuits.
Disable Switch
To facilitate fire alarm installation testing, the 08130 Module
contains a supervised disable switch that prevents release
operation. An amber "OISABLE" LEO is provided on the
D8130 to indicate when the switch is in the OISABLE position.
The D8130 is connected to any unused protective zone or
point of the control/communicator to supervise module
disabling. A trouble is indicated on the controVcommunicator
when the 08130 switch is in the DISABLE position, and a
restoral is sent when the switch is retumed to the NORMAL
position. When the contacts are activated with the switch in
the NORMAL position, no trouble indications are sent to the
control/communicator.

Notification Appliance Circuit Supervision Module
Specifications
D192C
Features
. Supervises 12 or 24 V DC Notification Appliance
Circuits
. Supervised signal silencing switch
. Notification appliance circuit rated at 1.8 Amps
. Multiple module configurations
. Mounts in panel enclosure
Description
The D192C Circuit Supervision Module is an accessory
module for use with Radionics Fire Alarm Control
Panels (FACPs) and Controll Communicators. The
D192C supervises the wiring to remote Notification
Appliances in compliance with UL 864 and NFPA 72.
The D192C powers Notification Appliances either from
an FACP or from an auxiliary power supply, which
allows the use of 12 or 24 V DC Notification Appliances
with the appropriate power supply.
The D192C supervises the wiring to Notification
Appliances for open circuit, short circuit, or grounded
circuit faults. It responds to these conditions by causing
a shorted trouble condition on the FACP supervisory
zone or point. The panel then provides audible and
visual waming at the command center(s). Panel
programming may provide Notification Appliance
supervision reports to a remote receiver.
In an alarm condition the panel output voltage triggers
the D192C to supply power to the Notification
Appliances.
The D192C module also filters and stabilizes the output
voltage to the Notification Appliances in the event the
battery power is interrupted. Several D192C modules
can be connected to the same supervisory zone or point
of the FACP or control/communicator.
The D192C module has a silence switch to disconnect
power to the Notification Appliances during system
testing. When this toggle switch is in the Silence (OFF)
position, the D192C shorts the supervisory zone or point
of the panel, causing a trouble condition.
Notification Appliances used with the D192C module
must comply with the following:
. Must be polarized (DC) equipment
. Must match the voltage rating of the alarm power
supply
. Must not exceed the current rating of the alarm
power supply
. Combined device current must not exceed 1.8
Amps per D192C module
Application
The D192C Module provides a supervised connection
point between a Notification Appliance circuit and the
FACP. It supervises the Notification Appliance circuit
for open, short, and ground condition, any of which the
F ACP will report as a trouble condition.
In an alarm situation, the FACP signals the D192C to
power the Notification Appliance circuit, either from the
F ACP battery or from an auxiliary power supply.

Installation
The D192C mounts inside the FACP enclosure.
Depending on the configuration of the panel, it
may attach using existing mounting holes or with a
0137 or 0138 mounting bracket.
Using a Class B, Style W, 2-wire circuit, wire the
D192C to the FACP according to the Installation
Instructions supplied with the module. The D192C
requires the following:
. 12 V DC auxiliary power
. Supervisory zone or point input
. Alarm power input of 12 or 24 V DC
. Panel common
For UL applications, a listed (UTRZ) regulated
power supply may be used to power Notification
Appliances through the D192C
To comply with NFPA standards:
. The FACP and the power supply must be
supervised or installed in the same room not
more than 20 feet from the D192C as
specified by NFPA
. Wiring between the FACP and the power
supply must be in conduit
. Power supply fault conditions must be
supervised by a UL-listed relay.
Install according to the Radionics Installation
Instructions. Test and maintain equipment according to
the Instruction manual, NFPA 72, Local Codes, and the
Authority Having Jurisdiction. Failure to follow these
instructions may result in a failure to initiate an alarm
condition. Radionics is not responsible for improperly
installed, tested, or maintained products.

Description
Radionics' D9124, D9412, D9412G, D9112, D7412,
D7412G, D7212 Control/Communicator panels use the
D928 Dual Phone Une Switcher to transmit over an
alternate phone line when the primary phone line is
faulted. The D928 monitors the altemate line and the
panel monitors the primary line.
If a signal is generated and the panel senses that the
primary phone line is bad, then it will attempt to use the
alternate phone line to send the message. If trouble is
detected, the panel keeps the faulty phone line in
memory.
If the primary line is found to be electrically faulty, the
D928 switches to the alternate phone line and reports
the fault The D928 uses the primary or alternate phone
line to dial a primary, backup or duplicate phone
number.
When using Modem 11Ia2, the panel sends a phone line
failure message to the D6500 or D6600 Receiver,
indicating which phone line is in trouble. The panel
sends two distinct messages for trouble on the primary
or altemate phone line.
The D928 also has a circuit that monitors the panel's
CPU for proper operation. If the CPU fails, a buzzer on
the D928 sounds as does a sounder in the panel. This
sounder cannot be reset while the CPU is failed.
Four LEDs mounted on the front edge of the D928 serve
as status LEDs by displaying primary and altemate
phone line failure, failure to communicate and AC power
status.

Manual Fire Alarm Box
Specifications
Features
. Rugged die cast housing
. 14 gauge Plated steel back plate
· Single gang mounting
. Corrosion resistant construction
. 10 Amp 120 V AC contacts
· Key locked reset
· Screw terminal connections
· Optional break glass rod
· Latching pull down lever
Description
The Radionics' D461 Manual Fire Alarm Box is a single action,
UL listed fire alarm initiating device. It has one set of normally
open contacts rated for 10 Amps at 120 V AC. The D461 has
an easily identifiable pull down lever and contains an integral
break glass rod carrier.
The 0461 is compatible with the following accessory devices:
· D463
· D465
· D466
The unit is a high quality manual fire alarm box constructed
entirely of non-toxic materials with a low profile and rounded
edges to fit most design applications. All components are
prepainted or have plated surfaces to inhibit corrosion. Non-
corroding screw terminals are provided for wire connections
to the D461.
The D461 is manufactured in conformance with the standards
set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The D461 has a white pull down lever in its center. Pulling
down the lever latches it into place. The D461's normally open
contact switch is shorted causing an alarm on the fire initiating
loop. The pull down lever can not be reset unless the correct
key is inserted into the manual fire alarm box lock and the
unit is opened. The latching lever can then be restored to its
normal position.
When the D461 is being reset and has a glass break rod
installed, all debris must be removed priorto installing another
rod to ensure the unit will close and lock securely.
0461 Manual Fire Alarm Box
Application
The D461 Manual Fire Alarm Box is an accessory device for
Radionics control/communicators and is typically used in fire
alarm applications. Manual fire alarm boxes are generally
installed near building fire exits such as lobbies or stairways.
Persons evacuating the building during an emergency are
able to initiate an alarm by pulling down a lever. This alerts
others who may still be inside. Schools, factories, offices,
and health care facilities are typical applications.
The snap lock feature of the D461 prevents the unit from
being reset without a key so the origin of the alarm can be
more easily determined. The 10 Amp. 120 V AC contact rating
allows the D461 to handle larger current loads. This makes
the unit an ideal choice for both new installations and retrofits.
Installation
The Radionics' 0461 Manual Fire Alarm Box is a UL listed
fire alarm initiating device. The D461 is installed alone or
with other approved mechanical devices on Radionics
control/communicators. Manual fire alarm boxes must be
installed according to codes set by the authority having
jurisdiction.
The D461 mounts to a standard flush or surface mounted
single gang switch box or plaster ring. Slotted screw holes
allow for correct positioning during installation.
Two corrosion resistant screw terminals are provided for wire
connections. All wiring and installation is subject to the
authority having jurisdiction.
Install, test and maintain this device according to the
Installation Guide, NFPA 72, Local Codes and the Authority
Having Jurisdiction. Failure to follow these procedures may
result in failure of the device to operate properly. Radionics
is not responsible for devices that are improperly installed,
tested and maintained.

initiate an alarm by pulling down the lever. This action alerts
others who may still be inside.
Installation
The 0467 is installed alone or with other approved mechanical
devices on Radionics' control/communicators. Manual fire
alarm pull stations must be installed according to codes set
by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
The 0467 mounts to the supplied back box. Insert two saews
through the slotted holes and tighten down securely. Two
corrosion-resistant screw terminals are provided for wire
connections. All wiring and installation is subject to the AHJ.
Install, test and maintain this device according to its Installation
Guide, NFPA 72, Local Codes and the Authority Having
Jurisdiction. Failure to follow these procedures may result in
failure of the device to operate properly. Radionics is not
responsible for devices that are improperly installed, tested
or maintained.

Description
Radionics' D411 is a 12/24 VDC module that synchronizes
notification appliances on Class B alarm circuits.
Radionics' 0412 is a 12/24 VDC module that synchronizes
notification appliances on a single Class A or two Class B
circuits.
These devices provide an effective means of synchronizing
both audible and strobe circuits.
Audible devices controlled by these modules provide a
synchronized Temporal Code 3 output. This means that the
Code 3 pattern produced by all horns on that circuit is
synchronized and the temporal pattern effect mandated by
NFPA 72 (July, 1996) is clearly recognizable.
Synchronizing strobes can eliminate possible restrictions on
the number of strobes in the field of view. This is an easy way
to comply with ADA recommendations concerning persons
with photosensitive epilepsy.
Both the two-wire and four-wire modules offer the ability to
provide independent operation of audible notification
appliances while maintaining the visual alarm condition, a
required feature in some jurisdictions.
The D412s may be interconnected to provide temporal (Code
3) horn and strobe synchronization with multiple circuits.
By using existing wiring, these modules also provide an
economical method of upgrading existing two- or four-wire
circuits to comply with new regulations.
Front View of Synchronization Module
Application
Radionics' D411 and D412 Synchronization Modules are used
in Notification Appliance Circuits to control synchronization of
audible and visual devices. They bring visual strobes into
synchronization with an output of one flash per second and
audible devices into compliance with NFPA 72, temporal sound
pattern (Code 3).
They provide a cost effective means to upgrade existing circuits
to ADA compliance.
The 0411 and 0412 Synchronization Modules operate on
notification appliance circuits with continuously applied
voltage.
Installation
The D411 flush or surface mounts to a 4 in. x 2 -1/8 in. back
box; the D412 flush or surface mounts to a 4-11/16 in. x 2-1/8
in. back box.
Notification appliance outputs from the control panel connect
to the modules and outputs from the modules connect to the
notification appliance circuit.

These motor bells (D440, D441 , D442, and D443) use a high-
quali1y, micro-motor operating mechanism. This provides
long-term reliability, low starting voltage, and extremely low current
conslJmption. These features enable the use of more bells per
circuiit and greater alarm signal distribution than conventional
bells. The low starting voltage provides a stronger signal on
larginal circuits.
These motor bells eliminate the coils and contacts found in
convl~ntional vibratory bells. They contain a highly-efficient DC
motor drive system to produce high sound pressure levels at
lower current requirements. As a result, they reduce EMI
generation problems.
The operating mechanism is enclosed in a die-cast aluminum
housling, making the bells suitable for both interior and exterior
applications. The steel gong and striker last longer and produce a
10udElr sound output.

Current Rating
The peak current of all Bosch Security Systems' Motor Bells is
approximately four times the rated current. This peak current
surge exists for approximately 6 ms and must be supplied by the
system power supply to ensure start-up of all devices. If the
system power supply does not have sufficient surge capability
(generally provided by large filter capacitors), loading of the
supply should be based on the DC bell peak requirements rather
than their rated current.
Mounting Considerations
Outdoor or Severe Environment Applications
For an outdoor application or a severe environment (N EMA 3R)
application, these motor bells in combination with a WBB-R
Weather-Resistant Back Box must be mounted on a flat wall such
that the wall covers the entire rear surface of the back box. The
back box must have its drain holes pointed toward the ground.
The knockouts in the rear surface of the back box must remain
intact.
The knockout hole on top of the back box is sized for a O.5-in.
conduit and matching connector. A proper watertight conduit
fitting must be used.

System Sensor's i3- sounder and relay smoke detectors apply the guiding principles
of installation ease, intelligence, and Instant Inspection in a series of specialty
conventional devices.
Installation ease. Throughout the i3 series, installation is simple with its installer-
friendly base and plug-in design. The base accommodates a broad range of back box
and direct mounting options, and provides ample space for pre-wiring the installation.
To complete the installation, the i3 detector plugs into its base with a simple Stop Drop
'N Lock action.
Intelligence. To reduce the likelihood of nuisance alarms, all i3 detectors are equipped
with both drift compensation and smoothing algorithms. These capabilities minimize
both short- and long-term causes of nuisance alarms such as RF interference and dust
accumulation. When connected to the 2W-MOD2Ioop test /maintenance module or an
i3 ReadyTM panel, 2-wire i3 detectors can generate a remote maintenance signal when
they are in a maintenance or freeze trouble condition. To measure the sensitivity of any
i3 detector, the SENS-RDR displays the reading, in terms of percent per foot obscura-
tion, within seconds.
Instant inspection. The i3 line's red and green LEDs simplify local status indication dur-
ing power-up, standby, alarm, maintenance and freeze trouble conditions. When in
alarm, i3 sounder models generate an 85dB temporal tone. If connected to the RRS-
MOD reversing relay/synchronization module, all i3 sounders on the loop will activate
when one detector is in alarm. Additionally, the RRS-MOD synchronizes the output of
all i3 sounders, to ensure a clear audible signal.
Should the application call for differentiating between a local and a general alarm, the i3
line offers an isolated thermal model, which initiates a local alarm when smoke is detect-
ed, and a general alarm when the thermal sensor is activated.

System Sensor's RRS-MOD reversing relay/synchronization module enhances the
operation of 2- and 4- wire i3 series detectors equipped with a sounder.
Installation ease. The RRS-MOD includes a Velcro :ittachment for easy installa-
tion into the fire alarm control panel cabinet. A quick-connect harness and
color-coded wires simplify connections.
Intelligence. The RRS-MOD's design is flexible to accommodate virtually any
application. The RRS-MOD is compatible with both 2- and 4-wire i3 series
detectors operating over 12V and 24V systems. The module can be used with
either bell/alarm, alarm relay, or NAC outputs, and its field-selectable switch
accommodates both coded and continuous alarm signals.
Instant inspection. To meet fire alarm requirements, the RRS-MOD activates all
i3 sounders on a loop when one alarms. Additionally, the RRS-MOD synchro-
nizes the output of the i3 sounders, regardless of whether the panel's alarm sig-
nal is continuous or coded, to ensure a clear alarm signal.

Product Overview
@
I4TED
The System Sensor Innovair'" DH100ACDCLP is a 4-wire photoelectric air
duct smoke detector capable of sensing smoke in air velocities from 100 to
4,000 feet per minute (0.5 to 20.32 m/sec). This Innovair features Low-Flow
technology that enables duct smoke detection throughout a broad range of air-
flow environments. Many difficult to solve HVAC applications occur in low air-
flow duct applications where reliable smoke detection is critical. Innovair with
Low-Flow technology can detect smoke at air speed velocities of 100 feet per
minute or greater, while continuing the same reliable performance to 4,000 feet
per minute.
The two available form C relay contacts provide reliable performance for the
management of fans, blowers and air conditioning systems. These HVAC
devices can be configured to prevent the spread of toxic smoke and fire gasses
through a protected area
The Innovair family is designed for simplified installation and easy mainte-
nance. The modular construction allows for easy cleaning and uncomplicated
field replacement of the UL recognized power and sensor boards. The patented
cover missing feature insures the cover is securely tightened following routine
cleaning and maintenance. The patented interconnectability feature allows mul-
tiple Innovairs to communicate with each other. In the event smoke is detected,
the Innovair will signal the remaining interconnected detectors to initiate their
relays for smoke control.
Duct smoke detectors have specific limitations.
NOT a substitute for an open area smoke detector,
NOT a substitute for early warning detection, and
NOT a replacement for a building's regular fire
detection system.
Refer to NFPA 72 and 90A for additional information about the proper
application of duct smoke detectors.

CHARGING
Cycle Applications: Limit initial current to 2.1 A. Charge until battery
voltage (under charge) reaches 14.40 to 14.70 volts at 680F (20oC).
Hold at 14.40 to 14.70 volts until current drops to approximately 70mA.
Battery is fully charged under these conditions, and charger should
either be disconnected or switched to "float" voltage.
"Float" or "Stand-By" Service: Hold battery across constant volt-
age source of 13.50 to 13.80 volts continuously. When held at this
voltage, the battery will seek its own current level and maintain itself
in a fully charged condition.
NOTE: Due to the self-discharge characteristics of this type of bat-
tery, it is imperative that they be charged after 6-9 months of stor-
age, otherwise permanent loss of capacity might occur as a result of
sulfation.
