Please contact me if there are any questions with regards to my comments. • This building is not sprinkled. Therefore, maximum travel distance to an exit is 150' and a building dead end corridor is 20'. • Storage area/utility area shall have a minimum 1 hour fire rating in accordance with the Florida Fire Prevention Code (101) Chapter 36, 36.2.1.1 • Door into utility also shall be a rated door. • Panic hardware required on all secondary exits. • Install smoke detectors, hardwire or plug in style with battery backup in storage/utility room and outside bathrooms. • Install emergency lights in each bathroom. • Pump islands shall have certified fire extinguishers located in extinguisher cabinets. • Pump islands shall be protected with"U" style bumper posts. • Plans and specs required for the fuel tank installation process. • Pump disconnect switch shall be properly located and marked. • A "Knox"access box shall be required and installed on site for use by all tenants. An application has been attached. • Certified fire extinguishers shall be properly located in occupied businesses. • If Retail Unit"C" is being built out it shall require emergency lights. • All firewalls shall be labeled/stenciled in block style lettering, minimum 2" and located in several areas on each side of wall. • If firewalls are penetrated, penetrations shall be UL compliant. The UL application chosen shall be forwarded to the Fire Marshal at time of inspection. Inspections required: 1. Firewalls. Each unit requires a firewall separation. A screw inspection shall be required prior to the tape and mud process. A final firewall inspect shall be required once wall has been sealed at top and bottom, penetrations have been sealed and wall has been labeled. 2. A building final shall be conducted. Separate comments will be made on the fuel tank installations once those plans are submitted. Fees assessed at this time are for plan review and firewall inspections. After inspecting the dumpster pad location today with sanitation staff—the existing site is compliant with specifications, although not in an ideal location, the following items should be included within the file. • There are low overhead cable/power lines in the approach of the dumpster pad. • The location of the dumpster pad requires the sanitation truck to back onto private property(trailer park office) in an effort to empty the container. • The private road at the trailer park(near the dumpster pad) is in poor condition. The engineer and contractor have displayed "due diligence" in their efforts to field locate the dumpster—although due to the site configuration—there are not many options to relocate the dumpster. The shear valves were tight,and the test boots were opened in the dispenser sumps.The dispenser sumps were dry and the dispensing equipment appeared to be in good condition. Documentation-The proof of insurance and the Certification of Financial Responsibility,was available.The 2008-2009 Placard, contractor installation and removal form and the tank delivery manifest were not available.An accurate Release Detection Response Level(RDRL)was not available.The RDRL was discussed with the owner Testing-The tank(both compartments 15k and 8k gallons)was tested and passed by Adams Tank and Lift on August 19,2008. The lines tightness and mechanical line leak detectors were also tested and passed by Adams Tank and Lift on November 05, 2008.The Veeder Root tank monitor was tested and passed on November 05,2008.
