which may be more restrictive than County regulations. The undersigned assumes responsibility for,compliance with any

UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS AND CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: If the owner has hired d contraictor or
contractors to undertake work, they may be required to be licensed in accordance with state and local regulations. If the
contractor is not licensed as required by law, both the owner and contractor may be cited for a misdemeanor violation

TRANSPORTATION IMPACTIUTILITIES IMPACT AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FEES: The undersigned understands
that Transportation Impact Fees and Recourse Recovery Fees may apply to the construction of new buildings, change of
use in existing buildings, or expansion of existing buildings, as specified in Pasco County Ordinance number 89-07 and
90-07, as amended. The undersigned also understands, that such fees, as may be due, will be identified at the time of
permitting. It is further understood that Transportation Impact Fees and Resource Recovery Fees must be paid prior to
receiving a "certificate of occupancy" or final power release. If the project does not involve a certificate of occupancy or
final power release, the fees must be paid prior to permit issuance. Furthermore, if Pasco County Water/Sewer Impact
fees are due, they must be paid prior to permit issuance in accordance with applicable Pasco County ordinances.
CONSTRUCTION LIEN LAW(Chapter 713, Florida Statutes, as amended): If valuation of work is $2,500.00 or more, I
certify that I, the applicant, have been provided with a copy of the "Florida Construction Lien Law—Homeowner's
Protection Guide" prepared by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. If the applicant is someone
other than the"owner", I certify that I have obtained a copy of the above described document and promise in good faith to

I have reviewed and approved the plans for a construction of new Group III T-hangars
located at the Zephyrhills Airport. I have attached the comments for the plan approval. If
there are any questions please contact my office at 813-780-0041.
1. Building construction shall be in compliance with the 2004 Florida Fire
Prevention Code and all applicable NFPA standards and codes.
2. Fire hydrant shall be located within 350' of each hangar
3. Certified fire extinguishers shall be located within each space in accordance
with NFPA 10.
4. An egress door shall be installed in each space and shall swing outward.
(hangar aircraft door excluded)
5. There shall be 75' clearance around all sides of each hangar
6. No fuel transfer or fueling, welding, torch cutting, doping or spray painting
shall be conducted inside the hangar. If so, the hangar shall be protected with
a fire suppression system.

applying for a permit, is indeed a city project located on airport property. These projects are typically exempt from

T-Hangar Curbing- Performance Test ` 3
PURPOSE:
This test is to be conducted to determine if a sealed 6" metal curb will satisfy the NFPA 409 Criteria for Group III
Hangars, specifically nested T-Hangars.
CONSTRUCTED CONDITION:
Building consists of a Pre-Engineered Metal Building that utilizes an L-shaped metal angle as the 6" curb. The
curb is fastened to the floor with metal fasteners. The recommended installation is to place a continuous bead
of a fuel resistant caulking under the angle so that the floor fastener is between the two beads, but an alternate
method is to seal the angle along the outside edge and seal each floor fastener. All vertical joints are sealed as
well in both installation methods. The building slab is constructed with a slope to the outside of the structure so
that spilled liquids do not pool inside the building. The building slab slope is%2%; falling 1%" over 24'.
INTENDED USE OF STRUCTURE:
The nested T-Hangars are to be used for the storage of private aircraft. The size of the hangar units limits the
aircraft types to certain Group 1 aircraft with minimally-sized fuel tanks.
TEST APPROACH &ASSUMPTIONS:
Test will be conducted to imitate a sudden rupture of a stored aircraft's fuel tank. This is considered the more
severe instance as the sloped floor would account for any slow leaks that may be present, taking any excess fuel
to the outside of the hangar space. Assumptions are:
• Aircraft is parked in its normal position inside the unit
• Fuel Tanks in the aircraft are full (approximately 30 gallons per tank)
• A tank is ruptured in a manner that directs the fuel away from the door, toward the walls
TEST PROCEDURE:
1) Identify the location of the"Leak"
2) Hold a hose above the slab (Approximately 30"—36")
3) Turn on the hose, allowing water to splatter and run on floor.
4) Hold the hose in place for over 2 minutes assuming a flow rate of 15 gallons a minute.
5) Observe for leaks in the curbing. Observations will be made on both sides of the wall.
6) Identify any leak locations and determine if caulk had failed or if it was misapplied.
TEST CERTIFICATION
The Test was conducted in tenter part of the Hangar on November 17th 2008 at Zephyrhills Municipal
Airport and leaks/ no leaks were observed.

The Test was condycted in the front part of the Hangar on November 14th, 2008 at Zephyrhills Municipal Airport
and leaks/ 7 no leaks were observed.

T-Hangar Curbing' Perforrtanee Testz
PURPOSE:
This test is to be conducted to determine if a sealed 6" metal curb will satisfy the NFPA 409 Criteria for Group III
Hangars, specifically nested T-Hangars.
CONSTRUCTED CONDITION:
Building consists of a Pre-Engineered Metal Building that utilizes an L-shaped metal angle as the 6" curb. The
curb is fastened to the floor with metal fasteners. The recommended installation is to place a continuous bead
of a fuel resistant caulking under the angle so that the floor fastener is between the two beads, but an alternate
method is to seal the angle along the outside edge and seal each floor fastener. All vertical joints are sealed as
well in both installation methods. The building slab is constructed with a slope to the outside of the structure so
that spilled liquids do not pool inside the building. The building slab slope is%2%; falling 1%z" over 24'.
INTENDED USE OF STRUCTURE:
The nested T-Hangars are to be used for the storage of private aircraft. The size of the hangar units limits the
aircraft types to certain Group 1 aircraft with minimally-sized fuel tanks.
TEST APPROACH &ASSUMPTIONS:
Test will be conducted to imitate a sudden rupture of a stored aircraft's fuel tank. This is considered the more
severe instance as the sloped floor would account for any slow leaks that may be present,taking any excess fuel
to the outside of the hangar space. Assumptions are:
• Aircraft is parked in its normal position inside the unit
• Fuel Tanks in the aircraft are full (approximately 30 gallons per tank)
• A tank is ruptured in a manner that directs the fuel away from the door, toward the walls
TEST PROCEDURE:
1) Place a 55-Gallon Drum in the back of a Pickup Truck
2) Cut out a portion of the top of the drum
3) Fill the drum with approximately 30 gallons of water
4) Back truck into the unit so that the back of the truck is located near the approximate location of the fuel
