Chapter 633, Florida Statutes, authorizes the City to charge and collect user fees to pay for the costs of fire
prevention and protection related activities such as inspections, plan review, adminis�trative fees, and other
costs related to the aforementioned.
Complete Plans, Specifications and Fee Must Accompany Application. Commencement of work without written approval of
the Fire Department's Fire Marshal or required permits or opening up for commercial activity without an approved final
inspection shall be charged double permit fee per day of operation or a minimum of $100.00, whichever is greater. All
work shall be pertormed in accordance with City Codes and Ordinances.

I have received and reviewed the plans for the LPG tank installation located on Airport Road
and will allow tlie project to move forward. By paying for permit, the contractor
acknowledges to comply with the comments stated below. Should anyone have any
questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Fire Marshal's office
1. Plans submitted have been approved by the State for the installation. An inspection
still needs to be conducted by the State once the project is completed. That inspection
report shall be supplied by the contractor to this offce at the time of the tinal or no
a�proval be given for the installation.
2. Bollards shall be positioned down the fence line to prevent damage from vehicular
coll�sion per NFPA 58. Minimum 6" pipe filled with concrete and painted yellow.
3. Ensure placarding of tank occurs on all 4 sides.
4 A certified fire extinguisher shall be located on site per NFPA 10.
5. I'ence that is installed around perimeter shall be minimum 6' high and have the
preventative climbing measure installed on top No smoking signs shall be placed on
the fence on all 4 sides.

Kerry: Amerigas is now leasing enough property on the SW side as to give them the clearance needed required by NFPA
58.
It now meets the necessary state requirements for approval and has been stamped as Approved.
Construction may continue now and a final inspection will be conducted and approved before this plant is put into
operation.

Fire Department Comments
1. Survey or equal showing the description of the property laying out property line and
tank(s). location relative to the site, includes required setbacks in accordance to NFPA
58 (railroad, trees, roadways, adjacent property lines, buildings, overhead).
2. Documentation that tanks have been evacuated and cleaned by contractor.
3. Documentation on tanks that they are still compliant and meet current certification.
4. Any cut or spec sheets on tanks.
S. Schematic or layout of all piping associated with the tanks.
6. Life safety page showing shunts or cutoff switches for the operation, fire extinguishers
required per NFPA 10/NFPA 58, fencing (min 6' high with additional security top to
prevent climbing over) and bollards around 3 sides of the fencing to protect against
vehicular damage.
7. Ground shall be scraped and cleared with a rock base under and around tanks to
prevent any grass.
8. Proper signage/placards shall be provided on fence designating propane on site. This
shall also be on tank.
9. Any electrical on site to be completed shall be compliant to NFPA 70 for such
application.
10. Lines shall be color coded at site.
11. Saddles shall be engineered to ensure they can carry the load capacity of the tanks,
documents shall support this.
12. Any venting shall also be shown in the piping or tank schematics/plans.
13. Provide contact information for individual at State level who gave preliminary approval.
Additional Items may or may not present themselves once plans and documentation
is submit for the review/permitting process.
This item is tabled until a complete application has been submitted per the
above comments.

Just got off the phone with Fred Hoover (Regional State Inspector) with regards to the Amerigas site. He was just out
there and took some initial measurements and agrees the setback is not met. Further he will be citing them for improper
security of the tanks. He did say that they may be able to meet the setbacks if they remove one tank and relocate the
other. He will be talking with Amerigas today and will be requiring a copy of the survey completed to have an exact
location with all survey stake in place. It is in their hands right now and I will keep everyone up to date on this.

I have received and reviewed the site plan for the tank installation on Airport Road and have
rejected it at this time. I have listed the following reasons for rejection below. There have been
no fees assessed at this time. Should anyone have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact
the Fire Marshal's office.
1. The 50' setback has not been met to the west and the south. For the southern setback if a
letter has been provided by the City Airport Authority stating there will be no building
constructed there at this time or the future and then a variance is granted, that information
needs to be supplied with the site plan. With the western setback it is not confirmed that
the railroad right-of-way can used to meet the 50' setback. CSX may have to allow that to
happen and if so documentation should be submitted with the site plan.
2. In speaking with the State (DOT) it was confirmed that the site location has not been
officially approved for the 2 tanks. The State still has to approve the plan now that
property lines are staked out. One of the things that has to be approved by them is the 50'
setbacks. The State inspector advised that Tallahassee may have to approve tanks to be
within railroad right-of-way, therefore not being approved from the regional office.
3. Site plan that get submitted shall be stamped approved by the State.
4. Bollards shall be positioned along the fence line to protect the tanks against vehicular
collision per NFPA 58.
5. Fence being installed around perimeter has no details. Fence shall be minimum 6' high
with the preventive climbing measure installed on top. Provide details. No smoking signs
shall be placed on fence on a114 sides.
6. Ensure placarding of tank occurs on a114 sides.
7. A certified fire ' guisher in accordance to NFPA 10 shall be located at the site.

1. Site Plan Review (03-10-SPR) for Amerigas Propane request to replace old tanks with two
30,000 gallon tanks at 5055 Airport Road.
This item was tabled with the following conditions:
� Chain-link fence shall not be "slated" as proposed

Property owner shall coordinate with the airport to obtain additional
property on the southwest property line (in order to meet setback
