Bergeron Engineers, lnc. (NEB) has analyzed the 2011420 CURB ADAPTER with the Carrier 507CA07 roof top unit, for wind and seismic capacity. Full structural drawings are not included in this repart. HEB assumes no responsibility for the wind and/or seismic rating of the existing curb or its attachment method to the building structure. Methodoloqv: All unit dimensions are based on data provided by Cambridgeporf. As requested by Cambridgepa�t, wind and seismic design were based on the Florida Building Code(FBC 2010). Wind calculations were based on a basic wind speed of 180 mph in Pasco Caunty, FL with Exposure Category C. All ca[culafions assume that the building is a one-story structure, with an ordinary steel frame, 18-ft high, on stiff sail. Cambridgeporf reports that this curb adapter will be used at the Autozone Store 2498 project, located in Zephyrhills, FL. Wind Analvsis Results: Cambridgeport requires this curb adapter to be fastened to the existing 16 gauge curb with#1Q Tek Screws. Calculations show that 8 equally spaced fasteners are required per short rail to prevent shear faifure and acF�ieve a safety factor of 1.27 based on AISC Manual of Steel Construction allowable shear values in table 1-D. Calcu]ations show that 30 equally spaced fasteners are required per [ong rail to prevent overturning failure and achieve a safety factor of 1.27 based on AISC Manual of Steel Construction allowable tension values in table i-A. Calculatians show tha# 1 tie-down bracket is required per short rail, and 2 equally spaced tie-dawn brackets are required per long rail to prevent overtuming failure at the uni#ta curb adapter connection. Rail stiffeners are not required to prevent the rails from buckling during a design base wind event.
