' installation Instructions for Elixir 7Q0 Series Windows
1. Check that the rough opening is square and 1/2" larger than the window in
width and height.
2. Apply a continuous 1/4" bead of silicone around the perimeter of the opening
on the exterior sheathing where the windaw na's1 fin will cantact the wail.
3. Place temporary shims in both bottom corners and the cer�ter of the opening.
4. Insert the window into the opening and set the unit on the temporary shims.
5. Place temporary shims on all sides of the window until the unit is square.
� 6, Place one nail or fastener in each corner of the nai! fin and eheck wir�dow
operation. Adjust shims if necessary.
7. When �he window operates correctly and all interior site lines look correct,
place a fastener in at least every other hole in the r�ail fin. Fasteners should have
large heads, like raafing nails, for better performance.
8. Remove all shims and recheck window site lines and operation. Replace shims
and adjust€asteners if necessary, Do not leave shims in the rough opening,
9. Due to vinyl's�expansion and contraction praperties, the window frame
should not tauch the rough opening frame when properfy instal{ed. Vinyl
windows shauld "flaat" in the openir►g to promote better operatior� after
structure settling ar leveling.

tape.
