Good Afternoon,
In review of your proposed layouts (educational occupancy)
Layout# 1: Is permissible to have one exterior 36"door for ach classroom. It is my understanding each door would
lead directly outdoors. Due to the fact that each rooms occu ant load would be less than 50, emergency egress windows
would not be required.This does not prevent you from providing one if you so desire.
Layout#2:Would require the exit access corridor to be a 1 h ur minimum rated construction, and any room over 250
square feet (which is all of them)would require a rescue win ow to code unless a door is provided that leads directly to
the exterior.
This is just a brief reply to your question, items such as exit I hts, emergency lights, alarm systems,fire extinguishers,
door size/swing direction,etc.would also need to be addres ed dependent on final plan submittal and review.
Of course Chief Riggall will be in attendance at your inspecti n and will be the final authority when it comes to fire safety
items.
