TRANSPORTATION IMPACTIUTILITIES IMPACT AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FEES: The undersigned understands
that Transportation Impact Fees and Recourse Recovery Fees may apply to the construction of new buildings, change of
�•use in;existing buildings;=,or expansion of existing buiidings, as specified ir� Pasco County Ordinance number 89-07 and
90-07, as amended. The undersigned also understands,�that such fees, as may be due, will be identified at the time of
permitting. It is further understood that Transportation impact Fees and Resource Recovery Fees must be paid prior to
receiving a "certificate of occupancy" or final power release. If the project does not involve a certificate of occupancy or
final power release, the fees must be paid prior to permit issuance. Furthermore, if Pasco County Water/Sewer Impact'
fees are due, they must be paid prior to permit issuance in accordance with applicabie Pasco County ordinances. � .
CON�TRUCTION LIEN LAW(Chapter 713, Florida Statutes, as amended): If valuation of work is$2,500.00 or more, i
certify that I, the applicant, have been provided -with a copy of the °Florida Construction Lien Law—Homeowner's
Protection Guide" prepared by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. If the applicant is_someone

CONTRACTOR'SIOWNER'S AFFIDAVIT: I certify that all the information in this application is accurate and that all work
will�be done in compliance with all applicable laws regulating construction, zoning and land development. Application is
hereby made to obtain a permit to do .work and installation as indicated. I certify that no work or installation' has
commenced prior to issuance of a permit and that all work will be perFormed to meet standards of all laws regulating
construction, County and City codes, zoning regulations, and land development regulations in the jurisdiction. I also
certify that I understand that the regulations of other government agencies may apply to the intended work, and that it is
my responsibility to identify what actions I must take to be in compliance. Such agencies include but are not limited to:
- Department`of Environmental Protection-Cypress Bayheads, Wetland Areas and Environmentally Sensitive
Lands, Water/Wastewater Treatment.
- Southwest Florida Water Management District-Wells, Cypress Bayheads, Wetland�'Areas, Altering

- Use of fill is not allowed in Flood Zone"V"unless expressly permitted.

"compensating volume" will be submitted at time of permitting which is prepared by a professional engineer �
licensed by the State of Florida. �
- If the fill material is to be used in Flood Zone "A° in connection with a permitted building using stem wall
construction, I certify that fill will be used only to fill the area within the stem wall.
- If fill material is to be used in any area, I certify that use 'of such fill will not adversely affect adjacent
properties. If use of fill is found to adversely affect adjacent properties, the owner may be cited for violating
the conditions of the building.permit issued under the attached permit application, for lots less than one (1)
acre which are elevated by fill, an engineered drainage plan is required.
If I am the AGENT FOR THE OWNER, I promise in good faith to inform the owner of the permitting conditions set forth in
this affidavit prior to commencing construction. I understand that a separate permit may be reguired for electrical work,
plumbing, signs, wells, pools, air conditioning, -gas, or other installations not specifically included in the application. A
permit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work and not as authority to_violate, cancel, alter, or
set aside any pr visions of the technical codes, nor shall issuance of a permit prevent the Building Official from thereafter
requiring a correction of errors in plans, construction or violations of any codes. Every permit issued shall become invalid
unless the work authorized by such permit is commenced within six months of permit issuance, or if work authorized by
the permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of six(6) months after the�time the work is commenced. An extension
may be requested, in writing, from the Building Official for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days and will demonstrate
justifiable cause for the extension. If work ceases for ninety(90)consecutive days, the job is considered abandoned.

Gulf Coast roofing panels require a ce in degree of pitch to ensure proper wa�er drainage,
Florida Building Code allows a minimurm pit h of 2/12 far T'iuff-rib�panels as Ic►ng as Iap screws
and sealant are applied to the laps to prevent water from siphoning over the ribs (see Fig. S on p, 4}.
Lap screws and sealant are aptional when the p��tch is 4/12 or greater(4/12 pitch means that there is 4
in.ches of rise for every 12 inches running horiz�ntally). As a generai principle,the less steep the roof,
and the mare necessary also that sealant be used at all side-laps. Consult our representative for
recommendations for your particular roof pitch�and about roofmg options if you have less than a 2/12
pitch.
�oof Freparat�on
Oil-ccznning is a wave-Iike,rippled app �arance extending up the length of the ganel after it has
been installed on the roof Any irregularities i�the roof, including uneven piywacrd jaints,warped
plywaod,uneven trusses,poor application of underlayment,the use af button caps with felt paper,etc.,
can promate oil-canning. Care sha�zld be taken to provide a flat,uniform su�'ace on which to attach
the ganels. See page 6 for mare details.
Roo Application
Panel installation shauld begin at the g ble end of the raof opposite the prevailing rain-bearing
� wind(this will provide added assurance against wind-driven rain being forced under the laps). Measure i
one panel width in fram the roof edge. At this�point chalk a Iine from ridge to eave. Place t.he Ieading �
'� edge of the first panel along this line. It is extr�meiy important that this panel be laid square to filie eave
and ridge so that the remaining panels will Iina�up square on the roof frame.It is wise to have a person
at the eave and at t,he ridge to ensure that the proper panel coverage is being maintained acrass the roof.
Also be sure that the panels are properly side-l�apped(see fig. 7 on page 7}.
In applications where end-Iapping is n�cessary,the upper panel on fihe slope should lap over the
panel that is lower on�he slope by about 12 inches. Lesser roof pitches require a greater amaur�t of
panel ovexlap. AIl end-lap apptications shoulc�use twa horizontal rows of butyl sealant tape across the
i panel and praper fastening to provide a maxi�um water seal.
An overhang of 2 to 3 inches on the eavIe is recommended to provide a drip edge,white anly ]
inch overhang is necessary where gutters are tised. The open panel ribs at tlie eave can be sealed with
inside closures. For maximum weatl�er-tightness, a raw of butyl tape can be applied above and beneatiz
closure material.
Trimming a d Cutting Steei Fanels
The best device for cutting steel panel across the profile is either hand snips or a nibbier.
� Nibblers,and especially Carborundum blades on electric saws,however, da have a tendency to either
' leave hot metal particles that can burn paint s�rfaces or to teave rust marks on ganels and trim. The
same is true of any filings teft on the roof cau ed t�y the application of screws. Care should be taken to
brush aIl such particles from raof surfaces aft�r applicatian.
To cut panels lengthwise: Note carei-iilty where the panel is to be cut, and,using a straightedge, .
� score deeply dawn the Iength of the panel with a shaip-painted utility knife. Folding the panel along the
score mark, and bending back again if necessary, should produce a clean break in the panel.
CAUTION! clean all metal shavings aid particles off of roof to avoid unsightly rust stains

Ordering R�of Panels and Screws
Care shauld be taken to arder panels f the correct length to avoid having to make
carrective measures after purchase. Pane1 le�gths shouid fall 2 to 3 i�ches short of the ridge when
� a vented ridge is desired, and should extend 2 to 3 inches past the eave to allow a suffici�nt drip
edge (except as noted an pg. 3 concerning g;-�tters). When a raof transitian is involved,panels of
the upper portion shauld be ardered short to �Ilow piacement of the transition flashing(see
diagram an p. 10). The Gulf Coast sales perspnnel are ready to assist customers with informatian
specific to their partzcular roof. I
Specially-washered screws applied�augh the flat af the metal is the most recommended
method used to attach roofing panels. 1-incH screws can be used if penetration of only�l4 inch is
either necessary ar desired; otherwise, 1'h i ch screws are usually recammended. 2'/2 inch screws
� are also available, and are often used by tho e who adhere to through-the-rib fastening, and for
,' ridge-cap application. See pages 6 and 7 fa more information an screw spacing and ardering.
� Ordering and Applying Trim
The mast canunon flashing for metal�roofing is the rzdge cap, which is used at the peak af a
raaf where two oppasing raof slapes join. Q�ther flashings include t�ansition fi'ashing,end waCt
and sidewall flasliings, and valleys(see diagram an right for application}. Eave trims include
gable f!'ashirtg and eave drip, either af which are aften applied above.f'ascia trim. When roof pitch
; exceeds 5/12 {a 5 inch rise in 12 inches), the slope of the roof should be rnentioned when ordering
ridge caps, endwalls, and eave drip. When steeper roof slope meets a lesser slope,both slopes

At the gab�e edge#he use of gable tnm adds tg the appearance Qf the sfizcture and protects ;
' the fly-rafter, and sidewall flashing is used here the side of a panel butts up against an adjacent �
wa�l. In eikher case, the installer should be areful to seal between the gable rake or sidewall and
panel with butyl seaiant tape, and ta fasten t e rake every 6" to 12" up the slape af the roof with
the appropriate screws. If eave+drip is used n the gable, the number of 90 degree eave drip
should be specif ed separately from that used on the drip edge when ordering.
' Ta prevent penetration of water, ins cts, and debris at the ridge, autside closures shouid be
' inserted between the ridge cap and the top e d ofthe panei. Screws are applied thraugh the ridge
cap, closure, and rib in at least every other b of the panels. At least a 1 Il2" (or preferably 2%z"}
screw shauld be used for attaching ridge ca �s. Self-drilling lap screws can also be used to attach. �

Paint and finishes of Gulf Coast panels and trim are designed to withstand severe rain and
wet weather conditions. Neither paint, galva.�ized, or Galvalume fmishes,however, are designed to
be in continuous contact with water for Iong �eriods of time. Damage will result if uninstalled
panels ar t�im are allowed to remain wet in�torage. Be sure ta store material that wi11 nat be
installed imrnediately in a dry location. Wet material should be air-dried and re-stacked if
installation is not planned right away.
