We also
reconfirmed construction costs for two(2) levels of work to Fire Station #2. We also took the liberly of doing a cost
estimate for building a new Fire Station #3 on a site undetermined,therefore the cost of the land is not included in
the estimated cost of the 3rd station option. The Executive Summary of the various optiuns is broken down as
fol lows:
Fire Station#2 Oution-1 fReference Exhibit A):
Base Building including new exterior stucco, J y'f -
Mezzanine in apparatus Bay for storage and
carbon dioxide ventilation:............................................................$ 1,143,249.00
Add Sitework/Landscape/Demolition:.............................................$ 85,884.00
AddAppliances: ...........................................................................$ 16,250.00 ,
Add 75 KW Generator................................................................... 95,000.00
Total Fire Station#2 Option-1:....:.............................$ 1,340,383.00
(Compares to November 4, 2008 estimate prepared by LPA at$1,368,741.00-Reference Exhibit F)
Fire Station#2 Option-2(Reference Exhibit B):
Base Building excluding new exterior stucco,
Mezzanine in apparatus bay for storage and
Carbon dioxide ventilation:............................................................$ 1,070,665.00
Add Sitework/Landscape/Demolition:.............................................$ 85,884.00
AddAppliances: ...........................................................................$ 16,250.00
Add 75 KVII Generator:..................................................................$ 95.000.00
Total Fire Station #2 Option-2:..................................$ 1,267,799.00
(Compares to November 4, 2008 estimate prepared by LPA at$1,146,091.00-Reference Exhibit G)
LPA was asked to provide a further estimate that did not address any of the hardening of the existing building;
demolition work would be primarily done by the city employees; it eliminated the interior millwork and reroofing a
portion of the existing building, and many other miscellaneous items were deleted thus reducing the cost by
$398,520.60 for a total estimated cost of$747,570.00. We don't recommend this approach primarily due the lack of
hardening a building that is in some areas 50 years old. This type of structure without hardening is not conducive to
a fire station occupancy(Reference Exhibit H).
4301 Anchor Plaza Parkway Sutte 100 Tampa,FL 33634-7525
Voice:813.884.200D Fax:813.864.070 ..
archlteetcollman-karsky.com
www.col l m a o-ka rsky.com
