At penetrations in j ackets for thermometers and pressure <br /> gages, fill and seal voids with vapor bamer coating. <br /> 6. Repair damaged insulation jackets, except metal jackets,by <br /> applying jacket material around damaged jacket. Adhere, <br /> staple, and seal. Extend patch at least 2 inches in both <br /> ' directions beyond damaged insulation jacket and around the <br /> entire circumference of the pipe. <br /> F. Flanges, Fittings, and Valves -Interior Exposed and Concealed: <br /> ; Coat pipe insulation ends with vapor barrier coating. Apply <br /> � premolded,precut, or field-fabricated segments of insulation <br /> � around flanges,unions,valves, and fittings. Make joints tight. <br /> I Bond with adhesive. <br /> • ' 1. Use same material and thickness as adjacent pipe <br /> insulation. <br /> � 2. Overlap nesting insulation by 2 inches or 1-pipe diameter, <br /> � which ever is greater. <br /> � <br /> � 3. Apply materials with adhesive, fill'voids with mineral fiber <br /> insulating cement. Secure with wire or tape. <br /> 4. Insulate elbows and tees smaller than 3 inches pipe size <br /> with premolded insulation. <br /> 5. Insulate elbows and tees 3 inches and larger with <br /> premolded insulation or insulation material segments. Use <br /> at least 3 segments for each elbow. <br /> 6. Cover insulation, except for metal jacketed insulation, with <br /> PVC fitting covers and seal circumferential joints with butt <br /> strips. <br /> • G. Hangers and Anchors: Apply insulation continuously through <br /> hangers and around anchor attachments. Install saddles, shields, <br /> ICT 99184 <br /> 15250 - 7 <br />
