Safety and Loss Prevention <br /> Active participation by all contractors and subcontractors of any tier in East Pasco Medical <br /> Center's safet'y and loss prevention program is mandatory. All bids shall include the cost to <br /> maintain a safety and loss prevention program consistent with East Pasco Memorial Center's <br /> p'rogram. Par'ticipation in the safety program is mandatory regardless of who is providing the on <br /> site insurancel coverage. � <br /> ,i <br /> , ' ; <br /> Each contractlor/subcontractor of any tier will be solely responsible for carrying out their safety I <br /> and loss prevention. Each contractor/subcontraetor shall designate an on-site Site Safety � <br />' Representative who is competent to have the responsibility for safety. The Site Safety ' <br /> Representative is responsible for directly overseeing employees to ensure that the programs and <br /> actions are adhered to and comply with the minimum safety standards as required by federal, <br /> state, and local codes and regulations, and East Pasco Medical Center's safety and loss <br /> prevention pr�gram. � <br /> 1�) Minimum Safety Standards � <br /> The following outlines some of the project's minimum standards that apply to all contractors and <br /> subcontractors regardless of trade or tier and eligibility for the insurance portion of the OCIP: <br /> � ; <br /> , � , <br /> a) Any area which has a fall exposure of six (6) feet or more must be protected by standard <br /> '� �uardrails (stop, mid-rail, and toe boards) or personnel working in that area must w�ar a <br /> i full body harness with shock absorbing lanyard and be appropriately tied off. • <br /> � b) Each'contractor or subcontractor shall require all employees to wear hard hats at all times <br /> as a condition of assignment to the proj i ct and during the total construction of the project. <br />' �� ; � <br /> c) All employees shall be required to wear!OSHA compliant eye protection at all times <br /> while on the project site.
