TEVENS Residence <br /> I37'120 Foxrvn Place <br /> ,Zephyrhills, FL 33542 <br /> �July '15, 201 fi <br /> ENCINEERING REPAIR DIREGTIt�N <br /> his Engineering Repair D►irection provides for the repair of the damaged structures 'tr� . <br /> ull campliance with the requirements of the FLORIDA BUILDING CODE 5T" EDITION <br /> {2014}, including the FLaR1DA BUI�DING CODE, BUILDING, the F�ORIDA BUILDING <br /> CODE, RESIDENTIAL and the FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, EXISTING BUILDINGS. <br /> The following specific directians are provided for the repair and restoration of the <br /> damage identified in the exteriar bearing wall structure of the �tevens Residence <br /> located at 37120 Foxrun P1ace, Zephyrhills, FL. (34542}. The specific d'srections are <br /> provided relative to fihe wall section shown in Attachment"A". <br /> • Shorinq -- Prior to demolition and removal of fihe damaged structures,shoring <br /> mus�be provided to insure that the roof and roof structures are adequate#y <br /> supported during the repair and restoration. <br /> • Demolitian — Upon removal of the interior and exterior wall covering materials <br /> from the damaged areas of the e�erior wall, the full extent af the damaged wood <br /> structures will be identified. All of the structurally damaged wood material is to be <br /> removed and replaced. Based on the preliminary evalua#ion, �his will involve the <br /> removal and�replacement of a number of#he 2"X6" wall studs, king and jaek <br /> studs supporting the window header, the windaw header, sections ofi the t#ouble <br /> 2"X6"top plate and possibly damaged sections of the '/�" OSB or%2" CDX <br /> Plywood sheeting. The part'rons of the double 2"X8»top plates, which are found <br /> to have been damaged must be removed in such a manner that the repiacement <br /> seetion of double top pla�e will be provided with a minimum 1 fi" of overlap splice. <br /> The pressure treated 2"X6" bottom plate is undamaged, however some additional <br /> attachment to the existing concre#e foundation structure may be required. <br /> • Load Bearing Frame Wall —The schematic load bearing wall structure is shawn <br /> in Attachment "B". This attachment should be employed as applicable in the <br /> repair and restoration of the damaged eacterior laad bearing wa11 s#ructure. The <br /> required strapping and connectors for the rebuilt and restored bearing walls are <br /> identifed in the attachment with capitai letters.
