INSTALLATION � <br /> 1. Gauges are to be installed in accordance with the latest published standards of the National Fire Protection Association or other <br /> similar organizations, and also with the provisions of governmental codes, ordinances, and standards whenever applicable. <br /> � 2. Gauges must be handled with care. They must be stored in a cool, dry place in their original shipping container Never install <br /> gauges that have been dropped or damaged in any way Such gauges should be destroyed immediately j <br /> 3. Adequate heat must.be provided where gauges are installed. � <br /> �4. The gauges must be protected from mechanical damage. Install the gauges according to the following steps: <br /> a. Apply a small amount of pipe joint compound or tape to the external threads of the gauge only. Take care that no joint com- <br /> pound is allowed into the orifice of the gauge. <br /> b. Turn the unit clockwise to thread the gauge into the 1/4" (6.4 mm) NPT connection of the fitting. DO NOT over-tighten tlie <br /> gauge. <br /> 5.
