. 1
G3IGROUP

STRUCTURE MONITORING PROGRAM
It is recommended that the ewsting structure be closely monitored for future potentially adverse
settlement. Should future subsurface settlement result in adverse structure distortion (such as
cracking), additional structure stabilization is expected to be warranted. In this regard, it is
recommended that the walls be monitored by installing a series of crack monitors and/or vertical ! '
survey points along the walls. Areas in which the movement of the walls is considered excessive may ; ',
be further supported with the use of a deep foundation system, as previously described. '
FLOOR SLAB ,
The floor slab is not considered to be a structural member. In this regard, repair of the floor slab is ' I
typically not considered as critical as overhead members. 'However, the displacement of the floor '
slab due to settlement may be aesthetically disruptive and create tripping hazards. Movement of floor
' slabs within the building interiors tends to be marginal due to low moisture variations.

Polyurethane foam may be applied to fill voids which have developed below the esting structure
floor slab and re-level the floor slab. Polyurethane consists of specialized foam having well-defined
expansion characteristics that may also be injected below the concrete slab using small-diameter '
, holes. The expansion of the polyurethane allows the unrestrained concrete to be lifted to the
preferred floor level. Following injection, the polyurethane solidifies as a rigid form and will not
l change shape.
The floor stabilization is not considered a one-time solution to voids underlying the concrete slab, but
should be anticipated to require multiple applications. This process tends to require re-application as
the subsurface soils intrinsically settle. ,
Pier Parameters
Calculations of pierdepth, pressures were obtained from input of the results of the soil boring into
HelixPro foundation software. A rint out of this anal sis can be seen in the attachment.
P Y
'

I
I,
Florida Office: Phone: 727.376.7833 Tennessee Office:
2410 Success Drive, Suite 7 Fac: 727-376-2758 45 Oak Valley Drive ;
 Odessa, FL 33556 Email:info(eo3roup.com Spring Hill,TN 37174 i
, Web: www.eo3roup.com I
