° 4900 PG 1701 <br /> Airport Enhancement Program 29 of 48 2/27/02 <br /> the low intensity beam is within(100)feet of an Aircraft fueling operation,Aircraft <br /> fueling truck or flammable liquid storage facility,unless an approved shielding <br /> device is used during the radar operation. <br /> 4.11 ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND LIGHTING SYSTEM: <br /> a. Vapor or explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting systems shall be used <br /> exclusively within hangars or maintenance shelters when required under NFPA <br /> Standards. No portable lamp assembly shall be used without a proper protective <br /> guard or shield over such lamp assemblies to prevent breakage. <br /> b. All power operated equipment or electrical devices shall be shut off when not in <br /> actual use. <br /> c. The Aircraft electrical system shall be de-energized on any Aircraft upon which <br /> work is being done within any hangar or structure by disconnecting the battery or <br /> power source. <br /> 4.12 HEATING HANGARS: <br /> Heating systems or devices in any hangar shall only be approved systems or devices as <br /> listed by the Underwriters Laboratories,Inc.,as suitable for use in Aircraft hangars and <br /> shall be installed in the manner prescribed by the Underwriters Laboratories,Inc. <br /> 4.13 USE OF CLEANING FLUIDS: <br /> Cleaning of Aircraft parts and other equipment shall preferably be done with non- <br /> flammable cleaning agents or solvents. When the use of flammable solvents cannot be <br /> avoided,only liquids having flash points in excess of 100 F shall be used and special <br /> precautions shall be taken to eliminate ignition sources in compliance with good practice <br /> recommendations of the NFPA. <br /> 4.14 APRONS,BUILDING,AND EQUIPMENT: <br /> a. All persons on the Airport shall keep all areas of the premises leased or used by <br /> them clean and free of oil, grease and other flammable material. The floors of <br /> hangars and other buildings shall be kept clean and continuously kept free of rags, <br /> waste materials or other trash or rubbish. Approved metal receptacles with a self- <br /> extinguishing cover shall be used for the storage of oily waste rags and similar <br /> materials. The contents of these receptacles shall be removed daily by persons <br /> occupying space and kept clean at all times. Only approved boxes, crates,paint,or <br /> varnish cans,bottles or containers shall be stored in or about a hangar or other <br /> Airporb4$ buildings on the Airport. <br /> A, Inc.
