Wherever there is inconsistency between these regulations and the building <br /> or electrical code,the more stringent requirement shall apply. <br /> 11140. riermit Required <br /> All signs, except signs exempt under section 11200 of this Code, shall require a sign permit. <br /> 11150. Maintenance <br /> All signs for which a permit is required by this Code, including their supports, braces, guys <br /> and anchqrs, electrical parts and lighting fixtures, and all painted and display areas, shall be <br /> maintained in accordance with the building and electrical codes. The vegetation around,in <br /> front of,behind, and underneath the base of ground signs for a distance of ten feet shall be <br /> neatly trimmed and free of unsightly weeds. No rubbish or debris that would constitute a fire <br /> or health hazard shall be permitted under or near the sign. <br /> 11200. XEMPT SIGNS <br /> The following signs are exempt from permit requirements: <br /> 1. Signs not exceeding four square feet on a show window or door of a store or <br /> business establishment announcing only the name of the proprietor, nature of the business and <br /> hours of operation. <br /> 2. A sign not exceeding one and a half square foot in area and bearing numbers, <br /> post office box number,name of occupants of premises or other identification not having <br /> commercial connotations. Post office box and/or post shall be restricted to owner or <br /> occupants name and address. <br /> 3. Any flag, emblem or insignia of any nation, state, or political subdivision <br /> except when displayed in connection with commercial promotion or advertising. <br /> 4. Legal notices and identification,informational or directional signs erected or <br /> required by governmental bodies, including signs erected or placed by the City of Zephyrhills, <br /> County of Pasco or State of Florida. <br /> 5. Paper signs inside of shop windows of retail establishments. <br /> 6. Signs, not to exceed six square feet in area per organization mounted at the <br /> City entrances and meeting locations for religious, civic, fraternal and nonprofit <br /> organizations. <br /> 7. Memorial signs pr tablets,name of buildings and date of erection when cut into <br /> masonry surface or when constructed of bronze or other noncombustible materials as may be <br /> approved by the Building Official. <br /> 8. Changeable copy signs and identification signs for public, nonprofit and <br /> religious facilities, located on the premises and not exceeding thirty square feet in area. <br /> 9. - Signs that are wholly within a group of buildings or complex and that are not <br />
