7 -OR BK 3638 PG 362 2of 3 DEFINITION OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS, WILD AND EXOTIC ANIMALS DELETING ALL REFERENCES TO THE TERM "POT BELLIED PIG" FROM SECTIONS 4, 6, 10 AND 16 OF THE PASCO COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE HEREIN INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE COUNTY ORDINANCE 87-25; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills has determined that it is in the best interest of its citizens to adopt Ordinance No.: 87-25, of the Pasco County Ordinances by references, and any amendments thereto, and provide for certain definition changes and delete the term "pot bellied pig" from Sections 4, 6, 10 and 16 of the aforementioned ordinance herein adopted and to amend Sections 3 and 20 of said county ordinance. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, sitting in regular session, that: The Pasco County Ordinance No.: 87-25 and any and all amendments thereto, known as the Pasco County Animal Control Ordinance be and the same is hereby adopted by reference and made a part as fully as though set forth verbatim, subject to the following amendments and deletions: SECTION 1. Section 3-J Definitions. shall be amended as follows: j. "Domestic" shall mean those animals trained to live with and be of use to.,than; tame 7. and shall include domesticated dogs, cats, birds, fish, rodents, rabbits and alike; but shall not include cattle, horses, swine, pot bellied pigs, sheep, goats or other grazing animals, turkeys, poultry, foul, ostriches and lamas or other animals normally raised for food. v. "Wild\Exotic Animals" shall be held to include every living dumb creature belonging to a species which would normally be found in the wild state, meaning found primarily in a natural state or a wild environment including dangerous or poisonous animals, and constrictor snake in excess of six(6) feet in length. y. "Pot Bellied Pigs". This definition shall be deleted. SECTION 2. Section 20 Ownership of Domestic&Wild/Exotic Animals. Shall be deleted and shall henceforth read as follows: 1. Domestic Animals. It shall be lawful for any person to own or harbor a domestic animal as well as horses, cattle and poultry, provided, said person abides by the rules and restrictions contained herein and further subject to local ordinances pertaining to number and location of said animals. 2. Wild/Exotic Animals. It shall be unlawful for any person to own or harbor any wild animal within the city limits of the City of Zephyrhills. Zoological parks performing animals exhibitions and circuses, which utilize wild animals in their performances or exhibitions shall be exempt from the provisions of this section. 3. Violation. Violation of this section shall constitute a Class IV infraction. A
