5 t i5- o3 I ORDINANCE NO. 471 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS , FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE III , SECTION B (1) , (2) . ALL AS CONTAINED IN FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS AND INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE IN ORDINANCE 420. ARTICLE III. SECTION B (1) and (2) of the Flood Damage 11 Prevention Regulations of the City of Zephyrhills , as originally adopted on May 26 , 1987 and incorporated by reference in Ordinance ##420, known as the City of Zephyrhills Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance are amended to read as follows : SECTION B. SPECIFIC STANDARDS : In all areas of special flood hazard where base flood elevation data has been provided, the following provisions are required: (1) Residential Construction. New construction or sub- stantial improvement of any residential structure shall have the lowest floor, including basement, elevated no lower than the base flood elevation. Should solid foundation perimeter walls` be used to elevate a, structure, openings sufficient to facilitate the unimpeded movements of flood waters shall be provided. (2) Non-Residential Construction. New construction or substantial improvement of any commercial , industrial , or non-residential structure shall have the lowest floor, including basement , elevated no lower than the level of the base flood elevation. -- Structures located located in A-zones may be flood-proofed in lieu of elevation provided that all areas of the I:1 structure below the required elevation are water tight with wall substantially impermeable to the 1 1 -11 passage of water, using structural components having r �ic the capability of resisting hydrostatic and r r hydrodynamic loads and the effect of buoyancy.
