October 1st of each year . The penalty for renewals of <br /> Certificates of Competency on or after October 1st , but <br /> prior to November 1st , shall be $25 . 00 . For renewals on <br /> or after October 1st , but prior to November 1st of the <br /> following year , the penalty shall be $200 . 00. The holder <br /> of a Certificate of Competency who fails to renew his <br /> certificate within the thirteen month period , as set out <br /> above , shall successfully pass a re-examination before <br /> said certificate may be renewed . <br /> Inactive Status - Any person , firm or corporation <br /> who engages in any construction work , may request the <br /> building division to place the Certificate of Competency <br /> on an inactive status . In no event shall the inactive <br /> status exceed a three year period . A person or firm so <br /> seeking to place a Certificate of Competency on an <br /> inactive status must pay a Fifteen ( $15 .00 ) Dollar fee <br /> per year , while said Certificate is on an inactive <br /> status . Such person or firm must surrender its <br /> Certificate of Competency to the building division until <br /> such time as they desire to activate it . The building <br /> division , by registered mail , shall send out a notice to <br /> all persons or firms presently on an inactive status , <br /> stating that they have ninety ( 90) days within which to <br /> comply with the provisions of this subsection . All <br /> those , except those who are actively engaged in their <br /> trade under the supervision of a certificate holder , who <br /> are or have been on an inactive status for three ( 3 ) <br /> years or more, must reactivate their certificate of <br /> competency within the above-prescribed ninety ( 90) day <br /> period . Failure to reactivate will result in a <br /> forfeiture of their Certificate of Competency. <br /> 6 .31 BOND REQUIREMENTS . <br /> _O. R. 1372 PG0767_ , <br />
