Products such as;Cat Litter,Pharmaceuticals and controlled substances,needles, <br /> ferrous or non-ferrous metal objects,rubber and elastics,Any material made from <br /> non-woven fibers or woven fibers such as"Disposable Wipes","Flushable Wipes", <br /> T "Wet Wipes"or any other material containing cloth or man-made fibers and <br /> polymers such as Nylon and Teflon(i.e.Dental Floss).Products and materials made <br /> —' from Rubber,Latex,and Nitrile.Plastics including feminine hygiene product <br /> applicators and wrappers,as well as floss picks and cotton swabs should also be <br /> included. <br /> F. Storm water,surface water,groundwater,roof runoff,subsurface drainage, <br /> swimming pool drainage,air conditioning system condensate water,and non- <br /> contact cooling water. <br /> G. Any other substances that can cause harm to the collection or treatment systems. <br /> 57.13.2 CHEMICALS <br /> It shall be unlawful to cause or permit to flow into the sewer system any cyanide,phenols,or any <br /> other chemical substance which interferes with,or prevents the functioning of,the wastewater <br /> treatment plant. <br /> 57.13.3 INTERCEPTION(FOG) <br /> Refer to sub-Ordinance 20. <br /> 57.13.4 BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND LIMITS <br /> A. The admission into the public sewers of any waters or wastes having the <br /> following shall be subject to the review and approval of the City. <br /> B. A 5-day BOD greater than 250 parts per million by weight of suspended solids;or <br /> C. Containing more than 1,000 parts per million by weight of suspended solids;or <br /> D. Having an average daily flow greater than 2%of the average daily sewage flow of <br /> the City. <br /> E. Where necessary,the owner shall provide,at the owner's expense,such <br /> preliminary treatment as may be necessary to reduce the BOD to 250 parts per <br /> million and the suspended solids to 1,000 parts per million by weight,or reduce <br /> objectionable characteristics or constituents to within the maximum limits <br /> provided for,or control the quantities and rates of discharge of the waters or <br /> wastes.Plans,specifications,and any other pertinent information relating to <br /> I' :F <br /> e: proposed preliminary treatment facilities shall be submitted for the approval of <br /> the City,and no construction of the facilities shall be commenced until the <br /> approvals are obtained in writing. <br /> 57.13.5 PLUMBING MAINTENANCE <br /> The owner,tenant,or occupant of the property shall be continuously responsible for maintaining <br /> and keeping the sewer pipes leading to and between the plumbing system of the premises to the <br /> City's main,clean and free from obstructions,and shall not cause,suffer,or permit any article or <br /> thing to be introduced into the pipe which causes a stoppage thereof.Installed clean-out caps be <br /> maintained and present to prevent surface water,rainwater,and debris from entering the system. <br /> _9_ <br />
