DONNELLY ENGINEERING ELECTRICAL <br /> C. Prohibited material: Die cast or pressure cast zinc-alloy fittings and fittings made of "pot metal' are <br /> prohibited. Indent type connectors or couplings are prohibited. <br /> 2.2 BUSHINGS <br /> A. Bushings: Bushings shall be provided on all terminations, all essential system conduits, mounted on the <br /> ends of all EMT connectors 1-1/4 inches and larger and within all equipment. <br /> B. Construction: Bushings shall have a flared bottom and ribbed sides, with smooth insides to prevent <br /> damage to cable insulation. <br /> C. Insulating Ring: Mold a phenolic insulating ring into sizes 1-1/4 inches and larger. <br /> D. Grounding: Provide a screw type grounding terminal on all sizes. <br /> E. Grounding Bushings: Grounding bushings shall be provided on all essential electrical system feeder <br /> conduits. <br /> 2.3 RIGID METAL CONDUIT <br /> A. Conduit: Conduit ends shall have precision cut hi-torque threads. One end of the conduit shall have a <br /> coupling and the other shall be covered with a color-coded plastic thread protector. Conduit shall be <br /> manufactured in 10 foot lengths. <br /> B. Fittings: Fittings shall be cut groove steel. Cast fittings are not acceptable. <br /> 2.4 FLEXIBLE STEEL CONDUIT <br /> A. Conduit and Standards: A continuous length, spirally wound steel strip, zinc-coated, each convolution <br /> interlocked with following convolution into a helix form. Product shall meet Federal Specification WW-C-566 <br /> and UL 1242. All conduit shall be"hospital grade". Installation where specifically noted on the drawings only. <br /> B. Fittings: Provide conduit fittings for use with flexible steel conduit of the threadless hinged clamp type, and <br /> a male threaded end, insulated throat, provided with a locknut. <br /> 1. Straight terminal connectors shall be one piece body, female end with clamp and deep slotted <br /> machine screw for securing conduit. <br /> 2. 45 and 90 degree terminal angle connectors shall be 2 piece body, with removable upper section, <br /> female end with clamp and deep slotted machine screw for securing conduit. <br /> 2.6 LIQUID-TIGHT FLEXIBLE STEEL CONDUIT <br /> A. Conduit: Plastic jacketed (PVC) liquid-tight flexible steel conduit with copper bonding conductor, and steel <br /> material galvanized inside and outside. Installation where specifically noted on the drawings only. <br /> B. Fittings: Provide cadmium plated, malleable iron fittings with compression type steel ferrule and neoprene <br /> gasket sealing rings with insulated throat. <br /> 2.6 INTERMEDIATE METAL CONDUIT <br /> A.
