Description: Provide complete and continuous system of conductors as specified herein. All <br /> conductors shall be in accordance with the latest edition of the NEC. All conductors shall be copper <br /> for power applications. System and communication cables are specified in other sections. <br /> 1'3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Qualifications: Manufacturers shall be regularly engaged in the manufacture of conductor systems <br /> and fittings of types and sizes requined, and vxhoaa products have been in satisfactory use in o|nni|ar <br /> oen/iva for not |een than 5 years in the USA. All conductors and cables shall be a product <br /> manufactured in the USA. . <br /> B. Compliance: Materials shall comply with the following standards and codes as they apply to the <br /> different wire types specified herein. <br /> 1. UL <br /> o. 44-Rubber insulated wire and cables. <br /> b. 83-Thermoplastic insulated wires. <br /> C. 48O-A-8O-Wire connectors and soldering lugs for use with copper. <br /> d. 4O8B-Splicing wire connectors <br /> e. 493 -Thermoplastic insulated underground feeder and branch circuit cables. <br /> 2. NFP&: <br /> a. 70NEC <br /> PART2-PRODUCTS <br /> ^ 2.1 GENERAL <br /> A. Power Conductors: Branch circuit and feeder conductors for electric power shall be copper <br /> Utilize THHN/THVVN insulation for branch circuits and THVVN/KHHVV insulation for feeders, unless <br /> specificallynoted otherwise. Conductors #10 AWG and smaller shall <br /> shall be stranded. No aluminum wiring shall be permitted. All wire shall be sized as shown on the <br /> drawings. If no branch circuit size is shown, wire shall be#12 AWG or as required by code, except <br /> that branch "homeruns" over 50 ft. in length shall be #10 AWG for 120/208V circuits. Conductorsl in <br /> the vicinity of heat-producing equipment shall be type XHHW insulation.
