Many people enjoy relaxing by a pool or a relaxing <br /> evening in a spa as part of their daily ritual on their private property. These are minimum guidelines to <br /> help encourage this enjoyment. <br /> General: Pools and spas are to be located behind the main building. <br /> Equipment should be located away from view of streets and neighboring property. Site <br /> plans locating the pool or spa on the property mush show the location of the pool <br /> equipment. Screening, such as landscaping and fencing, must be utilized to reduce <br /> visibility and the potential of noise pollution. Landscaping must be sufficient within twelve <br /> months of planting to obscure view of equipment. Any dead or dying vegetation will need <br /> to be replaced. <br /> Pools and spas are strongly encouraged to be secured when not in used to prevent water <br /> related accidents. <br /> Impervious area of the property shall not exceed what is allowed under the zoning <br /> standards of the Gateway PUD. Pools, spas and hot tubs are considered impervious areas. <br /> Pools: A temporary, hose-filled children's pool which does not exceed eight (8) feet in <br /> diameter and/or eighteen (18) inches in height, and is used in the space behind the <br /> main building, is permitted if not in place continuously for more than 90 days and is <br /> removed from view when not in use. <br /> Aboveground pools, with or without decks are not permitted. <br /> Spas: Spas, or hot tubs, may be installed as part of a patio or deck. Appropriateness of site and <br /> location will be considered so as to not adversely affect a neighbors' views. Screening <br /> may be required. Covers and locks are strongly suggested. <br /> Self-contained spa units or hot tubs may be permitted provided appropriate screening is <br /> incorporated. Site plans should show the location of the units and screening. <br /> Screening: Only charcoal-colored mesh screen is permitted. Florida Glass Screening is not permitted. <br /> Pool enclosures should not be overtly visible from public areas. <br /> Maximum height of a vertical surface of a pool screen enclosure shall not exceed twelve <br /> (12)foot in height for a one (1) story building.
