If a flag being displayed is determined to be offensive, the <br /> city may ask that the flag be removed. <br /> Flags that are damaged or discolored must be removed and replaced. Country, state and <br /> service flags must be disposed of in their proper way. <br /> Poles: Poles must be installed in such a way that they flag is easily removed. <br /> Poles may be mounted on the side of the building or ground-mounted. <br /> If mounted to the building, the hardware may be white, black, silver, gold, brass, natural <br /> wood color, or painted the color of the surface it is mounted on. <br /> Ground-mounted flag poles must be at least ten (10) feet tall and no more than twenty <br /> (20) feet tall.Ground-mounted flag poles shall be vertical. No guy wires or attachments of <br /> any type shall be used as additional support for the pole. <br /> Flag poles may be white, black, silver or natural wood color. The color of the flag pole <br /> shall be the same the entire length of the flag pole. All flag poles on the same property, <br /> whether mounted to the building or ground-mounted, shall be of the same style and <br /> color. <br /> Flag poles and flags shall be contained within the property. No flag pole or flag shall <br /> extend within public spaces. No flag pole or flag shall obstruct sightlines at intersections. <br /> Maintenance: Routine maintenance such as but not limited to cleaning, repainting and replacing flags is <br /> required. <br /> Flag poles must be removed if no flag is being displayed on the pole. <br /> Signage <br /> Signage is key to informing the general public as to the location, business name and services that are <br /> offered by the business.These are guidelines to the minimum standards regarding signage for businesses. <br /> General: Live/work signage shall be limited to a maximum of two (2)total Sign Types. <br /> Except for logos, trademarks, or similar; signage may only include two (2) colors. Signage <br /> design must be clean and easy to read from the street. <br /> Signage lighting shall be provided by indirect lighting, meaning a source of illumination <br /> located a distance away from the sign, which lights the sign, but which is itself not visible <br /> to the persons viewing the sign from any normal position of view, shall be permitted. <br /> Neon lighted signs, or similar, are not permitted. <br /> Gateway PUD Architectural Standards 116 <br />
