TSC38-D
TSC MODEL 38-D
DUPLEX PUMP CONTROL PANEL
Panel meets or exceeds Florida Department of Environmental Protection—FDEP (FAC 17-604)
The control panel shall be UL-508-A Listed and operate (2) electric submersible pumps on a low
voltage (5 V DC) intrinsically safe control system (per FDEP/ 10 STATES STANDARDS)
A. Fiberglass Enclosure-NEMA 4 X—exterior, rain &watertight with Lockable Hasp
The enclosure shall have an aluminum interior"dead front"panel door and a factory supplied back plate that
allows components to be securely mounted. The dead front door shall have a 115 volt GFI duplex
receptacle. Run lights and control switches shall be mounted on the DUPLEXOR control device.
(The use of 120-volt controls is not allowed).
B. High Water Alarm System-Light and Horn-A flashing red light in a weatherproof fixture shall be
mounted to the side of the enclosure. An audible weatherproof alarm bell/horn with an exterior alarm-
silencing button shall de-activate the audible but maintain the visual alarm until the fault is corrected.
C. DUPLEXOR(ALTERNATOR) Level Control System -Intrinsically Safe Low Voltage-
s volt DC operation
The level control system shall be a 12 pin,plug-in, field replaceable solid-state device. The DUPLEXOR
shall ALTERNATE PUMPS and include (2)H-O-A(Hand-Off-Automatic) switches,LED indicating lights
for each pump and all 4 float switches. The DUPLEXOR shall have a lead-lag alternator selector switch and
alternator test switch.
The DUPLEXOR control system will start, stop and alternate pump motors in response to the wet well level.
On a falling level, lowest float switch(FSI- PUMP OFF) shall close, locking the pumps into a common
"pumps off'. As the level rises, second float switch(FS2-PUMP ON) shall close at the "lead pump on"
level and automatically alternate and select the lead pump. Should the liquid level continue to rise faster
than one pump can handle, the third float switch(FS3-LAG/BOTH PUMP ON) shall close at the"lag
pump on" level starting the lag pump. As the pumps run, lowering the liquid level, the switches shall open in
reverse order. The fourth float switch(FS4-HIGH WATER ALARM) shall activate only if the liquid
level continues to rise, causing both the audible alarm and the light(visual) alarms to activate.
The DUPLEXOR shall provide for time delay starting of the lag pump-preventing both pumps from starting
at the exact same time. This feature prevents an amp rush that could cause a nuisance trip.
In the event of a float switch failure-the DUPLEXOR shall provide operation to keep the pump station from
overflowing by operating on any (2) switches.
D. PANEL FEATURES-REQUIRED BY F.D.E.P. OR NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE (N.E.C.)
Weatherproof schematic wiring diagram shall be permanently affixed to enclosure door. Terminal blocks
shall be located far enough away from the enclosure side(s)to permit convenient connection of incoming
wires per N.E.C. code.
F/FS/TSCV/ST/38DSSPane1
Rev 10/04 pgI
