March 26, 2019
287.667 Ft Self Support Tower Structural Analysis CC/BU No 816298
Project Number.9800.816298,Phase 4, Order 485277,Revision 1 Page 5
3.1) Analysis Method
tnxTower(version 8.0.5,0), a commercially available analysis software package, was used to create a'
three-dimensional model of the tower and calculate member stresses for various loading cases.
Selected output from the analysis is included in Appendix A.
3.2) Assumptions
1) Tower and structures were built and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's
specifications.
2) The configuration of antennas, transmission cables, mounts and other appurtenances are as
specified in Tables 1 and 2 and the referenced drawings.
3) Tectonic did not analyze the antenna supporting mounts as a part of this:analysis report and.
assumed they are structurally sufficient. It is the carrier's responsibility to- ensure structural
compliance of their existing and/or proposed antenna Supporting Mounts.
4) Dowel capacity governs reinforced foundation. Proposed reinforcement dowel capacity based
on the previous analysis report by Tower Engineering Professionals, Inc. The dowel capacity for
the previous reinforcement by IETS Engineering Services, P.C. is assumed to be governed by
the steel capacity.
5) The existing tower geometry is based on the previous analysis report by Tower Engineering
Professionals, Inc. referenced above.
6) This analysis is based on the tower mapping reports referenced above. Therefore, the material'
grades are assumed as follows:
Tower: Legs: A572-50
Bracing:A36
Anchor Rods: A36
Foundation: Concrete: 3000 psi
Steel Reinforcement: Grade 40 ksi
These assumptions are consistent with the previous analysis report by Tower Engineering
Professionals, Inc., referenced above.
This analysis may be affected if any assumptions are not valid or have been made in error. Tectonic
should be notified to determine the effect on the structural integrity of the tower.
4)ANALYSIS RESULTS
Table 4-Section Capacity(Summary)
Section Component Critical SF*P_allow %
Elevation(ft) Size P(K) Pass/Fail
No. Type Element Capacity
..
T1 ^22 06084 Leg I L5x5x5/16 I 3 - -0.918 I 92178 I 1.0 I Pass
T2 2 0.085 Leg L5x5x5/16 . 25 2.356 92.178 4 2.6b).] Pass
T3 272.5 Leg L5x5xl/2 F46 -13.362 184.6361 7.2 Pass
247.333 8.0(b)
T4 247.333- Leg L8x8x5/8 114 -31.544 434.867 7.3 Pass
232.583
T5 232. - Leg L8x8x5/8 152 -39.611 469.785 8'4
222.166 8.9(b)
Pass
16
T6 2 2.166-583 Leg L8x8x5/8 189 -51.729 453.830 11.4 Pass
T7 209.583-197 Leg L8x8x5/8 226 -70.444 453.830 15.5 Pass
15.8(b)
T8 197-181.3 Leg L8x8xl 1/8 265 -93.730 736.067 12.7 T Pass
T9 181.3- Leg L8x8x1 1/8 302 -126.871 814.224 15.6 Pass .
170.833 27.9(b)
tnxTower Report-version 8.0.5.0
