RESOLUTION NO. 780-21 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS TO PARTICIPATE IN A JOINT MEETING <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION OF PASCO TO DISCUSS <br />MATTERS OF MUTUAL INTEREST; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, and the Municipal <br />Association of Pasco, which includes officials from Dade City, New Port Richey, Port Richey San <br />Antonio and the Town of St. Leo, desire to participate in a joint workshop to discuss matters of <br />mutual interest; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 166.0213, Florida Statues, authorizes the governing body of a <br />municipality to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest with the governing body of the county <br />within which the municipality is located or the governing body of another municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, further states that such meetings may be <br />held at any appropriate public place within the jurisdiction of any participating county or <br />municipality, and requires that due public notice be provided within the jurisdiction of all <br />participating municipalities and counties; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 166.0213, Florida Statutes, further requires that the governing body <br />of a municipality must first adopt a Resolution or Ordinance authorizing participation in the joint <br />workshop. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, <br />Florida, as follows: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to Section 166.0213, Florida Statutes, the City Council of the City of <br />Zephyrhills, Florida, is hereby authorized to participate in a joint meeting with the Municipal <br />Association of Pasco on August 5, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at Spartan Manor — 6121 Massachusetts <br />Avenue — New Port Richey, FL 34653. <br />Section 2. Notice of this meeting shall be duly advertised and official Association minutes <br />shall be taken. <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective upon adoption by City Council. <br />The.
