<br />09902 PREPARATION OF PAINTED SURFACES
<br />All surfaces shall be dean, dry, free *am dirt, smudge
<br />prints, frost or dew, prior to commencing paint work as
<br />follows: ����,,

<br />remove all dirt and grease. Touch up any chood
<br />or abraded places on material shop coat with primer
<br />of some material and color as original shop coat.

<br />treating volution (Uthoform, Stbiey, Solfo
<br />Metallic Coating) or solution of 8 oz. copper
<br />sulphate in one gallon of water. Permit copper
<br />sulphate solution to dry on surfaces not less than
<br />12 hours, then dust off with stiff brush prior to
<br />painting.. Follow manufacturers direction for
<br />pre -treating solutions.
<br />c. Wood: Treat knots, pitch streaks, and spy spots
<br />with orange shellac where finish calls for interior
<br />paint; for exterior surfaces use weatherproof
<br />seder.
<br />d. Caulking: Unless otherwise required by
<br />manufacturers specifications, allow caulking to
<br />dry a minimum of 48 hours prior to applying paint.
<br />e. Existing Mason Surfaces: Clean as needed (including
<br />power washing to remove all dirt and loose paint.
<br />Patched areas shall be given a coating of masonry
<br />primer in addition to all other specified coats.

<br />Workmanship shall be the very best. Spread materials
<br />evenly, flow on smoothly without runs, sags, skips,
<br />defective brushing. Employ skilled mechanics. Make
<br />ad— of paint adjoining other materials or colors sharp
<br />and dean without overlapping. Cover surfaces
<br />completely. When color, stain, dirt or undercoats show
<br />through, cover find specified coat with sufficient
<br />additional coats to produce uniform color and oppserance.
<br />Specific items of workmanship are as follows:
<br />a. Protection: Lay drop cloths where necessary to
<br />protect floors and other work from damage. Remove
<br />aprotect hardware, accessories, fixtures, and
<br />similar items placed prior to painting; replace or
<br />uncover on completion of painting.
<br />b. Thinningg.•. Do any required thinning in conformance
<br />with prirhted Instructions of paint manufacturer.
<br />c. Back Priming: Before installation, back prime wood

<br />Do not apply paint when humidity is above 851E
<br />Surface Acceptance: Application of material to surface
<br />indicates acceptance of surface as satisfactory by his
<br />contractor.
<br />Upon completion of work, remove all paint and varnish
<br />spots from floors, glass, and other surfaces. Leave
<br />promises in dean, orderly, and acceptable condition
<br />including removal of all rubbish caused by painters.

<br />All vinyi wall covering shall be supplied by AMERICAN BLUE RIBBON HOLDINGS, LLC. Installation
<br />and adhesive shall be by the General Contractor. V.W.C. shall have
<br />a minimum Flame Spread of 15 and a Smoke Development
