ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS

<br />2. PROVIDE CONNECTION OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION OR NOTED ON

<br />3. ALL WIRING DEVICES SHALL BE BROWN WITH SMOOTH BROWN PLASTIC PLATES, UNLESS
<br />OTHERWISE NOTED.
<br />4. ALL WIRING INCLUDING LOW VOLTAGE TO BE IN CONDUIT.

<br />COORDINATE INSTALLATION WITH OTHER EQUIPMENT. SECURE OUTLETS TO STRUCTURE.
<br />8. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS FROM OUTLET TO OUTLET. AVOID UNNECESSARY
<br />SPLICING.

<br />13. ALL CIRCUIT CONDUCTORS TO BE (2) #12, WITH #12 GROUND UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

<br />CAN, BUS BAR, SHEET METAL CABINET SWITCHING AND OVER CURRENT DEVICES, TRIMS
<br />AND DOORS. PANELBOARDS SHALL BE SQUARE "D", G.E. OR SIEMENS WITH COPPER
<br />BUS. CIRCUIT BREAKERS: MOLDED CASE, THERMAL -MAGNETIC QUICK -MAKE, QUICK -BREAK
<br />TYPE WITH TRIP -FREE HANDLE. MULTI -POLE TYPE WITH INTERNAL COMMON TRIP BAR.
<br />CIRCUIT BREAKER SHALL BE SWITCH RATED AND BOLT ON TYPE.
<br />16. PROPERLY IDENTIFY EACH SWITCH WITH A PLASTIC NAMEPLATE.
<br />17. PROVIDE ENGRAVED PLASTIC IDENTIFICATION PLATE FOR EACH PANELBOARD. INSTALL
<br />TYPEWRITTEN DIRECTORY IN DOOR OF EACH PANEL CIRCUITS SHALL BE NUMBERED
<br />ALTERNATELY (i.e. 1,3,5, AND 2,4,6 ETC.).
<br />18. USE ONLY APPROVED LUBRICANT FOR WIRE PULLING PURPOSES.
<br />19. SUPPORT OF ALL LIGHT FIXTURES SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ELECTRICAL
<br />CONTRACTOR. LAY -IN LIGHT FIXTURES SUPPORTED ENTIRELY BY CEILING GRID SYSTEM
<br />SHALL HAVE "HURRICANE" CLIPS FASTENED TO CEILING GRID.
<br />20. SAFETY SWITCHES SHALL BE INSTALLED WHERE INDICATED ON PLANS OR WHERE OTHERWISE
<br />REQUIRED BY CODE ENFORCING AUTHORITIES. THEY SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH ADEQUATE
<br />HAND ACCESS TO AND CLEARANCE FOR OPERATION AND FUSE REPLACEMENT. EACH SWITCH
<br />SHALL HAVE ENGRAVED PLASTIC NAMEPLATES INSTALLED THEREON.
<br />21. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO FURNISH A WRITTEN, SIGNED WARRANTY STATING;
<br />THAT ALL WORK EXECUTED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE FREE OF DEFECTS IN
<br />WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIAL FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM DAY OF FINAL
<br />ACCEPTANCE.
<br />THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR WILL AT THIS OWN EXPENSE REPAIR OR REPLACE
<br />ALL DEFECTIVE WORK AND MATERIALS AND ALL OTHER WORK DAMAGED THEREBY, WHICH
<br />BECOMES DEFECTIVE DURING THE TERM OF THE GUARANTEE -WARRANTY.
<br />22. CONTRACTOR SHALL SECURE ALL PERMITS.
<br />23. ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS ARE CONSIDERED DIAGRAMMATIC AND INDICATE GENERAL
<br />ARRANGEMENT ONLY. REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR DIMENSIONS AND EXACT

<br />24. CONDUCTORS: COPPER, AWG #12 AND LARGER CLASS "B" STRANDED THHN OR THWN
<br />600 VOLT, MINIMUM SIZE #12. ALL CONDUCTORS #6 AND LARGER SHALL BE IDENTIFIED.
<br />25. ALL SINGLE-PHASE BRANCH CIRCUITS, 120 VOLT LIGHTING, RECEPTACLES AND MOTORS
<br />SHALL CONSIST OF PHASE, NEUTRAL AND GROUND CONDUCTORS.
<br />26. FURNISH AND INSTALL COMPLETE GROUNDING SYSTEM, GROUND CONDUCTOR, GROUND
<br />ELECTRODES, GROUND BUS & GROUND ROD TO EFFECTIVELY PROVIDE SERVICE GROUND.
<br />GROUND ALL PANELS, WIREWAYS, CONDUITS, LIGHT FIXTURES, RECEPTACLES IN
<br />ACCORDANCE WITH THE N.E.C. VERIFY GROUNDING MEANS WITH LANDLORD.
<br />27. GROUND CONDUCTORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ALL FEEDERS AND BRANCH CIRCUIT
<br />CONDUITS. ALL EQUIPMENT GROUND WIRES SHALL BE COPPER AND SIZED AS PER
<br />N.E.C. TABLE 250-122.
<br />28. ALL CONDUITS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 1 /2" DIAMETER UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
<br />ALL HOI!,LRUN CONDUITS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 3/4" DIAMETER UNLESS OTHERWISE
<br />NOTED. ALL CONDUITS IN SLAB OR UNDERGROUNDS ALL BE A MINIMUM OF 3/4"
<br />DIAMETER SCHEDULE 40 PVC UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
<br />29. ALL CONDUITS TO BE 90' WHERE PENETRATING FIRE OR SMOKE RATED WALLS SO
<br />THEY CAN BE PROPERLY FIRE TREATED AND CAULKED.
<br />30. ALL EXTERIOR RECEPTACLES, JUNCTION BOXES, AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE WEATHERPROOF.
<br />31. INSTALL COMPLETE LIGHTING SYSTEM. FIXTURES, LAMPS, ACCESSORIES AND SUPPORT
<br />AS SPECIFIED AND SHOWN. CEILING GRID LAYOUTS ON PLANS ARE FOR CONVENIENCE
<br />ONLY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE LIGHT FIXTURE LAYOUT WITH
<br />WITH ARCHITECT, GENERAL CONTRACTOR, MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR AND OWNER.
<br />32. LIGHTING AND RECEPTACLES CIRCUITS OVER 100 FEET FROM PANEL TO LAST OUTLET
<br />OR LIGHT SHALL HAVE ALL CONDUCTORS, INCLUDING GROUND WIRE, ONE SIZE LARGER
<br />THAN REQUIRED FOR AMPACITY FOR VOLTAGE DROP.
<br />33. CIRCUIT NUMBERS ARE FOR IDENTIFICATION ONLY. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE
<br />RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTLY PHASING THE CIRCUITS IN THE PANELS. HOMERUNS OF
<br />SIMILAR SINGLE PHASE CIRCUITS MAY BE COMBINED IN ONE CONDUIT WITH A COMMON
<br />NEUTRAL. ONLY THREE SINGLE PHASE CIRCUITS MAY BE COMBINED IN ANY ONE CONDUIT.
<br />ON COMPLETION OF THE SPACE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BALANCE THE PANEL PHASE
<br />LOADS TO WITHIN 10% AS PER N.E.C.
<br />34. NUMBER OF WIRES MAY NOT BE INDICATED FOR ALL CIRCUITS. ONLY THOSE WHERE
<br />CLARIFICATION IS NECESSARY. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR Si-IALL PROVIDE ALL WIRES
<br />NECESSARY FOR PROPER FUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM WHETHER INDICATED ON PLANS
<br />OR NOT.
<br />35. WIRING DEVICES: ALL DEVICES SHALL BE SPECIFICATION GRADE OF THE SAME
<br />MANUFACTURER. WALL SWITCHES 20 AMP 120 277 VOLT, DUPLEX RECEPTACLES
<br />2 WIRE 3 POLE GROUNDED 20 AMP 120 VOX.
<br />36. RECEPTACLES MOUNTED IN FIRE OR SMOKE RATED WALLS SHALL BE A MINIMUM 25" APART.
<br />37. DISCONNECT SWITCHES: HEAVY DUTY, ENCLOSED SAFETY SWITCHES, QUICK -MAKE,
<br />QUICK -BREAK TYPE WITH INTERLOCKED COVER AND TYPE ENCLOSURE REQUIRED FOR
<br />THE LOCATION. FUSED TYPE SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH REJECTION TYPE FUSES.
<br />MANUFACTURER SHALL BE SQUARE "D", GE, ITE OR CUTLER HAMMER.
<br />38. ALL EXHAUST FANS SHALL HAVE DISCONNECT SWITCHES. FIRESTATS PROVIDED BY THE

<br />39. ALL REMOTE EQUIPMENT ON ROOF OR GROUNDS SHALL HAVE A DISCONNECT SWITCH AT
<br />EACH PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.
<br />40. DEDICATED CIRCUIT, "LOCK OUT " BREAKER FOR NIGHT LIGHTING, EXIT, EMERGENCY LIGHTS,
<br />CASH WRAP OUTLETS, ALL SECURITY OUTLETS, OUTLET AT TELEPHONE BACKBOARD AND
<br />PLUG MOLD STRIP AT TRAINING AREA.
<br />41. LIGHT FIXTURES SHALL BE FURNISHED AS SPECIFIED IN THE LIGHT FIXTURE SCHEDULE ON
<br />THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTING PLANS OR APPROVED EQUAL. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
<br />CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY CEILING TYPES, CLEARANCES, MOUNTING HARDWARE, ETC., AS
