GENERAL NOTES AND SPECIFICATIONS

<br />1. Unless otherwise noted on the p ns, all constru i

<br />ACI 318-02, ASTM C90-01 a, ASTM C-442, FPA101 LATEST
<br />EDITIONS, and any applicable county, city, or any other
<br />agency's rules and regulations.
<br />2. Locations, elevations and dimensions of existing
<br />structures, and other features are shown
<br />according to the best information available at the time
<br />of preparation of these plans. The contractor shall
<br />verify the locations, elevations and dimensions of
<br />existing, structures and other features affecting
<br />this work prior to construction.
<br />3. The contractor shall use extreme caution in areas of
<br />buried utilities and shall provide at least 48 hours
<br />notice to the utility companies prior to construction
<br />to obtain field locations of existing underground
<br />utilities. The contractor shall protect and maintain
<br />operation of existing utilities during construction.
<br />4. The contractor shall check plans for conflicts and
<br />discrepancies prior to construction. The contractor
<br />shall notify the engineer of any conflicts before
<br />performing any work in the affected area.
<br />5. The Engineer shall be notified as to where existing
<br />utility services interfere with the proposed construction.
<br />6. The Contractor is responsible for repairing any damage
<br />to existing facilities, above or below ground, that may
<br />occur as a result of the work performed by the contractor.
<br />7. It is the contractor's responsibility to become familiar
<br />with the permit and inspection requirements specified
<br />by the various governmental agencies and the engineer
<br />The contractor shall obtain all necessary permits prior
<br />to construction and schedule inspections according to
<br />agency instructions. All work performed shall comply with
<br />the regulations and ordinances of the various governmental
<br />agencies having jurisdiction over the work.
<br />8. The contractor shall submit shop drawings on all precast
<br />and manufactured items to the engineer for approval.
<br />Failure to obtain approval before installation may result in
<br />removal and replacement at the contractor's expense.
<br />9. At least three (3) working days prior to construction,
<br />the contractor shall notify the engineer and appropriate
<br />agencies and supply them with the contractor's name,
<br />starting date, projected construction schedule, all required
<br />shop drawings and other information as required. Any work
<br />performed prior to proper notifications may be subject to
<br />removal and replacement at the contractor's expense.
<br />10. During construction and/or maintenance of this project,
<br />all safety regulations are to be enforced. The contractor
<br />or his representative shall be responsible for the control
<br />and safety of the traveling public and the safety of his
<br />personnel.
<br />11. The contractor shall comply with all Federal/State
<br />Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Standards and any
<br />other rules and regulations applicable to construction
<br />and/or maintenance activities in the State of Florida. The
<br />Contractor shall also comply with Chapter 442, Florida
<br />Statutes (Toxic Substances in the Workplace), and any
<br />County, City, or any other applicable agency's rules and
<br />regulations regarding safety.
<br />12. Contractor operations shall comply with 29CFR
<br />1910.252 and NFPA 51 B for cutting and welding procedures.
<br />13. All persons on public property and in area where the
<br />noise level exceeds 85db, must wear hearing protection that
<br />complies with ANSI S3.19-74 (ear muffs and/or approved ear
<br />plugs). This includes areas where noisy equipment is in use
<br />(i.e. jack hammers, electric or air drills, heavy equipment
<br />with open cabs, pipe cutting saws, etc.) and in the building
<br />where posted.
<br />14. All work conducted in an elevated position shall comply
<br />with 29CFR 1910.269.
<br />15. All design application, installation, maintenance, removal
<br />of all traffic control devices, warning devices and barriers
<br />necessary to protect the public and workmen from hazards
<br />within the project shall be in accordance with the minimum
<br />standards as set forth in the current edition of the State
<br />of Florida and Traffic Design Standards.
<br />16. Area designated by the Owner shall be utilized for
<br />equipment storage and cover material staging. Materials and
<br />supplies shall be stored only in those areas approved by the
<br />Owner.
<br />17. The County Engineering inspector shall be notified, and
<br />the Engineer's approval shall be obtained, on all proposed
<br />field changes, alterations or additions to the approved
<br />plans by the Contractor or the Engineer of Record prior to
<br />the implementation of such changes, alterations or additions.
<br />18. Dimensions are to face of masonry or to
<br />face of stud unless otherwise noted.
<br />19. Fill all masonry voids where anchors occupy.
<br />20. Coordinate locations and/or elevations of floor drains,
<br />registers, grills, louvers, connectors, panels, etc.. with mechanical
<br />and electrical contractors.
<br />21. Size and location of all floor openings to be verified with
<br />trade affected before proceeding with work.
<br />22. Refer to structural drawings for all CMU sheer wall locations.
<br />23. Provide a metal stud plumbing wall adjacent to CMU wall
<br />when wall occurs behind fixtures.
<br />24. Provide lintles/headers over all openings including those
<br />required for ductwork, pipes, louvers, grills, dampers etc..
<br />25. Coordinate location, construction, and details of load bearing
<br />walls before proceeding with work.
<br />26. Signs, locations, number and size are not approved under this
<br />building permit. A separate permit is required for each sign.
<br />2.7. Provide licensed fire sprinkler contractor's shop drawings
<br />and hydraulic calculations for the automatic sprinkler system for
<br />review and approval prior to starting the installation.

<br />prior to the installation, including running of any conduit wiring.
