<br />3. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND REQUIREMENTS OF ALL
<br />MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT WITH ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS PRIOR TO ORDERING EQUIPMENT OR
<br />SUBMITTING SHOP DRAWINGS, AND SHALL FURNISH EQUIPMENT WIRED FOR THE VOLTAGES

<br />4. ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ELECTRICAL POWER SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH
<br />DISCONNECT SWITCHES AT EACH PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. COORDINATE SWITCH TYPE (FUSED OR
<br />NON -FUSED) WITH EQUIPMENT CHARACTERISTICS, MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS AND
<br />ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS.
<br />5. ALL REQUIRED CONTROL WIRING NOT SHOWN ON THE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS SHALL BE
<br />INCLUDED AS PART OF THE MECHANICAL WORK.
<br />6. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, STARTERS, SMOKE DETECTORS, TRANSFORMERS, CONTROLS AND
<br />CONTROL WIRING REQUIRED FOR ALL MECHANICAL SYSTEMS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND
<br />INSTALLED BY THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR.
<br />7. ALL FANS SUPPLYING MORE THAN 2000 CFM OF AIR TO ANY SPACE AND ALL RECIRCULATING
<br />FAN SYSTEMS SERVING AREAS OF EGRESS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH A SMOKE DETECTOR IN
<br />THE SUPPLY DUCTWORK. THE SMOKE DETECTOR SHALL BE WIRED TO STOP THE FAN UPON
<br />DETECTION OF SMOKE, AND SIGNAL THE BUILDING FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL (IF BUILDING
<br />IS SO EQUIPPED). IF THE BUILDING IS NOT PROVIDED WITH A FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, THE
<br />SMOKE DETECTOR SHALL CAUSE A VISIBLE AND AUDIBLE ALARM SIGNAL IN A NORMALLY
<br />OCCUPIED AREA. SMOKE DETECTOR TROUBLE CONDITIONS SHALL BE INDICATED VISUALLY OR
<br />AUDIBLY IN A NORMALLY OCCUPIED AREA AND SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AS AIR DUCT DETECTOR
<br />TROUBLE. IF A BUILDING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS INSTALLED, THE SMOKE DETECTOR SHALL BE
<br />FURNISHED BY THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM CONTRACTOR, MOUNTED IN THE DUCT BY THE
<br />MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR, AND WIRED BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR. IF A BUILDING FIRE
<br />ALARM SYSTEM IS NOT INSTALLED, THE SMOKE DETECTOR AND AUDIBLE/VISIBLE ALARM
<br />SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR.
<br />8. INSTALL FIRE DAMPERS IN ALL RATED THROUGH WALLS, FLOOR AND CEILING PENETRATIONS.
<br />REFER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR LOCATIONS OR RATED AREAS. PROVIDE
<br />ACCESS DOORS IN DUCTWORK AT EACH FIRE DAMPER LOCATION. INSTALL SMOKE DAMPERS IN
<br />ALL DUCT PENETRATIONS THROUGH SMOKE RATED WALLS. WHERE DUCTS PENETRATE WALLS
<br />THAT CARRY BOTH FIRE AND SMOKE RATINGS, THE DAMPERS INSTALLED SHALL BE
<br />COMBINATION FIRE AND SMOKE DAMPERS. ALL DAMPERS SHALL BE U.L. LABELED.
<br />9. ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S
<br />RECOMMENDATIONS.
<br />10. ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR A PERIOD OF ONE
<br />YEAR AFTER CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY.
<br />11. EXHAUST DUCTWORK SHALL BE SHEET METAL AND SHALL NOT BE INSULATED UNLESS NOTED
<br />OTHERWISE.
<br />12. ALL DUCTWORK SHALL BE SUPPORTED BY THE BUILDING STRUCTURE AND SHALL NOT REST
<br />ON CEILING TILES OR CEILING STRUCTURE. DUCT SUPPORTS AND ATTACHMENT TO STRUCTURE
<br />SHALL BE AS PER SMACNA STANDARDS.
<br />13. FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK SHALL BE SIZED TO MATCH DEVICE NECK, PROVIDE ROUND GALVANIZED
<br />STEEL DUCT RUNOUTS TO MAINTAIN MAXIMUM FLEXIBLE DUCT OF 5'-0" LONG. FLEXIBLE
<br />DUCTWORK SHALL BE INSTALLED AS STRAIGHT AS POSSIBLE, AND SHALL BE ROUTED AND
<br />SUPPORTED WITHOUT FORMING CRIMPS OR OTHER AIR FLOW RESTRICTIONS. PROVIDE SQUARE
<br />TO ROUND ADAPTERS OR BOOTS TO CONNECT TO AIR DEVICE NECK WHEN REQUIRED.
<br />14. ROUND AND FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK SHALL BE CONNECTED TO MAIN DUCTS WITH SPIN -IN
<br />FITTINGS WITH AIR EXTRACTORS AND BALANCING DAMPERS.
<br />15. PORTIONS OF DUCTWORK VISIBLE THROUGH AIR DISTRIBUTION DEVICES IN FINISHED AREAS
<br />SHALL BE PAINTED FLAT BLACK.
<br />16. DUCTWORK DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE INSIDE CLEAR DIMENSIONS.
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST DUCT DIMENSIONS WHERE DUCT LINER IS USED M MAINTAIN
<br />INSIDE CLEAR DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS.
<br />17. THE CONDENSATE SHALL DRAIN TO A SANITARY SEWER DRAIN TROUGH AN INDIRECT WASTE,
<br />STORM SEWER DRAIN OR AN APPROVED FRENCH DRAIN. THE APPROVED
<br />CORROSION -RESISTANT DISCHARGE PIPING SHALL NOT BE SMALLER THAN THE DRAIN PAN
<br />CONNECTION ON THE APPROVED EQUIPMENT AND SHALL MAINTAIN A MINIMUM HORIZONTAL
<br />SLOPE IN THE DIRECTION OF DISCHARGE OF NOT LESS THAN 1/8 UNIT VERTICAL IN 12 UNITS

<br />18. AFTER CONSTRUCTION, THE ENTIRE HVAC SYSTEM SHALL BE TESTED, ADJUSTED, AND
<br />BALANCED TO DELIVER THE AIR QUANTITIES SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. SUBMIT CERTIFIED
<br />TEST AND BALANCE REPORT TO ARCHITECT FOR APPROVAL.
<br />19. MANUAL OVER -RIDE CONTROL (EMERGENCY SHUT -DOWN) SWITCHES FOR ALL HVAC UNITS
<br />SHALL BE LOCATED IN LOCKING COVER ADJACENT TO FIRE ALARM ANNUNCIATOR PANEL OR
<br />OTHER LOCATION APPROVED BY LOCAL AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
<br />20. ALL WORK SHALL BE COORDINATED AND PERFORMED WITH PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE
<br />OWNER TO SUIT HIS OPERATING CONDITIONS.
<br />21. ANY WALL, FLOOR, OR CEILING SURFACE THAT IS DISTURBED DURING THE COURSE OF THE
<br />HVAC WORK SHALL BE REPAIRED TO MATCH NEW AND/OR EXISTING.
<br />22. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT,
<br />DUCTWORK, ETC. TO FIT WITHIN THE SPACE ALLOWED BY THE ARCHITECTURAL AND
<br />STRUCTURAL CONDITIONS. CUTTING OR OTHERWISE ALTERING ANY STRUCTURAL MEMBERS
