<br />6. WOOD:
<br />6.1 Wood framing structural members: #2 southern yellow pine (unless noted otherwise) with
<br />allowable bending stress (Fb) = 1250 PSI and a modulus of elasticity = 1,600,000 PSI
<br />(does not include interior non load bearing stud walls).
<br />6.2 Design, fabricate and erect wood trusses in accordance with the "design specification
<br />light metal plate connected wood trusses" by the truss plate institute (TPI-02), and
<br />HIS 91 (if applicable).
<br />6.3 All exposed wood or wood in contact with earth or concrete to be pressure treated.
<br />6.4 Roof sheathing: 5/8" C.D. grade plywood (or 19/32" OSB), when using fiberglass/asphalt
<br />shingles over felt.
<br />6.5 Untreated wood shall not be in direct contact with concrete. SEAT plates shall be provided
<br />at bearing locations without wooden top plates.
<br />7. GANG- LAM LVL:
<br />7.1 Gang -Lam. stress grades shall provide the following minimum properties:
<br />E = 2,000,000 PSI
<br />Fb = 3,100 PSI
<br />Ft = 2,300 PSI
<br />Fc1 = 1020 PSI (perpendicular)

<br />8. STEEL:
