CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL ACCESS PANELS IN WALLS, <br />NON -ACCESSIBLE CEILINGS, DUCTWORK AS REQUIRED AND ELSEWHERE AS <br />INDICATED ON CONTRACT DOCUMENTS WHERE SERVICE ADJUSTMENT TO <br />MECHANICAL, PLUMBING OR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED. <br />3. COORDINATE INSTALLATION OF PLUMBING, VENT STACKS AND CONDUIT TO <br />PERMIT INSTALLATION OF RECESSED TOILET ACCESSORIES, FIRE <br />EXTINGUISHER CABINETS AND OTHER RECESSED EQUIPMENT. WHERE SUCH <br />ITEMS ARE RECESSED IN CORRIDOR, SMOKE OR FIRE/SMOKE WALLS THEY <br />SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A FIVE -SIDE ENCLOSURE. <br />4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSEMBLE A LOG OF CERTIFICATES AND <br />INSPECTIONS ORGANIZED IN C.S.I. FORMAT PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION <br />INCLUDING MANUFACTURER'S CERTIFICATION OF FLAME SPREAD, SMOKE AND <br />RADIANT PANEL TEST, AND CERTIFICATE OF TESTS FOR MEDICAL GAS, <br />RADIATION SHIELDING, HVAC TEST AND BALANCE, FIRE ALARM, FIRE PUMP, <br />EMERGENCY GENERATOR, ETC. AS APPLICABLE TO THE PROJECT AND MAKE <br />AVAILABLE AT FINAL INSPECTION. <br />5. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE AND IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO FINAL <br />INSPECTION. NOTIFY THE DESIGNER PRIOR TO INSPECTION OF ANY <br />DEFICIENCIES OBSERVED. <br />6. CONTRACTOR SHALL SEAL ALL METAL JOINTS WITH GLASSFAB AND MASTIC <br />PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF INSULATION AND PRESSURE TEST DUCTWORK <br />FOR LEAKAGE. <br />7. MANUAL VOLUME DAMPERS SHALL BE PROVIDED AT ALL RUNOUTS TO <br />SUPPLY AIR DIFFUSERS, RETURN AIR REGISTERS, EXHAUST AIR REGISTERS, <br />DIVISIONS IN DUCTWORK (SUPPLY, RETURN AND EXHAUST), AND ELSEWHERE <br />NOTED ON PLANS AND IN SPECIFICATIONS FOR BALANCING SYSTEM. <br />DAMPERS IN REGISTERS GRILLES AND DIFFUSERS ARE PROVIDED FOR FINAL <br />ADJUSTMENTS DURING TEST AND BALANCING. DO NOT RELY ON <br />DISTRIBUTION DEVICE DAMPERS FOR SYSTEM BALANCING. <br />8. COORDINATION OF ALL TRADES IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE. CEILING <br />SPACE TO ROUTE WORK IN IS MINIMAL AT BEST. CONTRACTOR SHALL LAY <br />OUT SYSTEMS IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL TRADES TO AVOID CONFLICTS <br />PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF WORK. <br />9. PLUMBING VENT STACKS AND HVAC EXHAUST SHALL BE KEPT A MINIMUM OF <br />25' FROM ANY OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE. OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE MAY BE AS CLOSE <br />AS 10' AWAY FROM EXHAUST FOR NON -HEALTHCARE FACILITIES. <br />10. CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW PLACEMENT OF ALL HVAC EQUIPMENT ON <br />ROOF WITH STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. <br />11. PROVIDE SEALED ROOF CURB AROUND ALL DUCTWORK AND PIPING <br />PENETRATIONS THRU ROOF. <br />12. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A MINIMUM OF 6" CLEARANCE BETWEEN <br />DUCTWORK, PIPING, AND ANY PRIORITY WALLS (TWO HOUR FIRE, TWO HOUR <br />FIREISMOKE, ONE HOUR SMOKE). <br />13. PROVIDE ACCESS DOORS IN DUCTWORK FOR FIRE DAMPERS, REHEAT <br />COILS, DUCT MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTORS, AND ELSEWHERE WHERE <br />SERVICE OR ADJUSTMENT TO MECHANICAL, PLUMBING OR ELECTRICAL <br />EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED. <br />14. PROVIDE "YOUNG" REMOTE VOLUME REGULATOR FOR ALL DAMPERS <br />LOCATED ABOVE INACCESSIBLE CEILINGS. REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL <br />DRAWINGS FINISH SCHEDULE FOR CEILING TYPES. <br />15. ALL OUTSIDE AIR INTAKES ON ROOF SHALL BE KEPT A MINIMUM OF 36" <br />ABOVE ROOF FOR HEALTHCARE FACILITIES, 12" FOR NON -HEALTHCARE. <br />PROVIDE DUCTWORK OR CURB EXTENSIONS AS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE <br />CLEARANCE. <br />16. INSTALL SMOKE DETECTORS IN RETURN AIR DUCTWORK (PRIOR TO <br />DILUTION OF OUTSIDE AIR) AND SUPPLY AIR DUCTWORK WITH SAMPLING <br />TUBES IN AIRSTREAM ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION <br />REQUIREMENTS. FOR ALL DUCT MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTORS PROVIDE AN <br />AIR DIFFERENTIAL TEST ACROSS DETECTOR SAMPLING TUBES, RELOCATE OR <br />ADJUST THE SAMPLING TUBES WHERE NECESSARY TO PROVIDE AN AIR <br />DIFFERENTIAL WITHIN THE ACCEPTABLE RANGE ESTABLISHED BY THE <br />MANUFACTURER. RESULTANT TEST DATA SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THE <br />FINAL SURVEY AND WILL BE INCLUDED IN LOG OF CERTIFICATES. DUCT <br />MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTORS TO BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY <br />MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR AND WIRED BY ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR. <br />17. MAINTAIN THE CLEAR SPACES AROUND, OVER AND UNDER EQUIPMENT, <br />ELECTRICAL PANELS, SYSTEMS AND SYSTEM COMPONENTS IN CEILING <br />CAVITIES NECESSARY FOR CONVENIENT OBSERVATION, OPERATION AND <br />MAINTENANCE. PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO ACCESS TO FIRE DAMPERS, FIRE <br />AND SMOKE DAMPERS, DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS, ELECTRIC DUCT HEATER <br />CONTROLS, FILTER ACCESS DOORS, MEDICAL GAS VALVES, FIRE <br />PROTECTION SYSTEM VALVES, ETC. ALL CONTRACTORS FOR ALL DIVISIONS OF THE WORK SHALL <br />GUARANTEE THAT THEIR WORK IS IN ACCORD WITH THE PHASING PLANS <br />SHOWN IN THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. SHOULD IT BE <br />NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH WORK IN AREAS WHICH ARE NOT INCLUDED <br />IN THE PHASING PLANS, SUCH WORK SHALL BE DONE WITH THE MINIMUM <br />OF DISTURBANCES THAT IS POSSIBLE AND WITHOUT CAUSING THE <br />INTERRUPTION OF EXISTING SERVICES. ALL SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS THAT <br />ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE WORK SHALL BE SCHEDULED WITH THE ARCHITECT <br />AND, THEREBY, WITH THE OWNER. ALL CONTRACTORS FOR ALL TRADES <br />SHALL COOPERATE AND COORDINATE THEIR WORK TO ALLOW THE <br />COMPLETION OF ALL WORK WITH THE LEAST POSSIBLE NUMBER ON <br />INTERFERENCE'S WITH THE SERVICES OF THE EXISTING BUILDING. <br />THE DESIGN DRAWINGS OF ALL CATEGORIES AND TRADES <br />(ARCHITECTURAL, STRUCTURAL, PLUMBING, FIRE PROTECTION, MEDICAL <br />GAS, MECHANICAL, HEATING, VENTILATING AND AIR CONDITIONING AND <br />ELECTRICAL) AND ALL SPECIFICATIONS AND SHOP DRAWINGS MUST BE <br />COORDINATED AND BE VIEWED IN CONNECTION AND CONJUNCTION WITH <br />EACH OTHER TO INSURE THE PROPER LOCATION OF ALL DEVICES AND <br />EQUIPMENT.
