INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES: <br />N <br />N <br />P <br />ti <br />CO <br />N <br />0 <br />a- <br />N <br />00 <br />N <br />9 <br />C <br />1. The Contractor shall obtain from the owner a copy of the Infection control risk assessment (ICRA) prepared for <br />this project. The contractor shall review the requirements in this report and preform all work In <br />accordance with those requirements. The contractor shall strictly adhere to the limits of the construction area, <br />and where ghost applies shall adhere to the phasing plan. A - work outside the construction are shall be <br />coordinates with he facility and preformed In accordance wl h the IRCA report, under the supervision <br />of the facilities representative or other designated ICRA commltee officer. <br />2. To the extent that It is required by the ICRA the contractor shall endeavor to maintain existing levels of <br />Indoor air Quality In areas surrounding and adjacent to the construction work zone and elesewhere In the <br />facility. It should be anticipated that the ICRA report will require measures to this et`fect Including erection <br />of construction zone barriers and provisions for negative air pressure in the construction zone relative <br />to other areas of the facility. Failure to comply with construction and malntolnonce of constuction barriers <br />will result in the cesatlon of work until the barriers ore brought Into compliance. <br />3.Contractor to monitor room to assure room has negative pressure monitoring <br />4. Any requirement for lnteruptlon or shut down of utilities made necessary by this construction shall be <br />coordinated with the facility at least one week prior to interuptlon. <br />5. Contractor shall endevor to minimize any disruption of surrounding areas of the facility <br />6. All debris will be removed In covered carts. Wheels will be cleaned <br />prior to entering the building from outside or from the construction area. <br />7. If fire alarm and / or sprinkler systems are shut down for four (4) hours or more, <br />contractor to provide 'Fire Watch'. <br />8. Traffic between barricaded areas and open areas shall be kept a minimum. Keep door <br />to such areas closed at a11times. Transport materials and refuse Into area from on external <br />site without violating other areas. <br />9. Provide negative pressure In construction area by blocking supply ventilations In dust <br />fight manner and HEPA-filter exist Ing return ducts. or with use of negative air machine <br />Do not re -circulate air from construction area to remainder of the facility. <br />ICRA Precautions During Construction <br />Provide active means to prevent airborne dust from dispensing Into atmosphere <br />Execute work by methods to minimize raising dust <br />Immediately replace any ceiling the If displaced <br />Water mist work surfaces to control dust while cutting <br />Seal unused doors with low tack <br />Block off and seal air vents <br />Place dust mat at entrance and exit of work area <br />Remove or Isolate HVAC system In areas where work Is being performed <br />ICRA Precautions upon Construction Completion <br />Wipe work surfaces with disinfectant <br />Contain construction waste before transport In tightly covered containers <br />Wet mop and/or vacuum with HEPA filtered vacuum before leaving work area <br />Remove Isolation of HVAC system In areas where work was preformed. <br />General Suspended Celling Olrective <br />Contractor shall notify the owner's representative of areas to be accessed prio to start of work <br />Spray top of ceiling panels to be removed, and surrounding offected panels with fine water mist to <br />settle dust prior to removal. <br />Clean top of adjacent ceiling panels after work Is complete <br />Clean floor below work area when work Is complete <br />Reroute traffic with barriers as required so that no patients or staff travel immediately below <br />the work area. <br />Owner should be contacted for all ceiling problems <br />Typical above Celiing Work <br />Contractor to provide a pre- manufactured portable collapsible and temporary dust barrier system. <br />Portable airborne particulate containment units. <br />Environmental Containment Unit (ECU) as manufactured by Mlntle Technologies or equal, and all <br />necessary accessories Including, but not limited to, 350-425 cfm <br />Negative Air Machine and 120 cfm Hepo Vacuum.
