<br />1.0 GENERAL
<br />1.1 THE SIZE AND LOCATION OF PENETRATIONS THROUGH THE STRUCTURE FOR MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING WORK SHALL
<br />BE COORDINATED WITH THE APPROPRIATE CONTRACTOR(S). PENETRATIONS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE
<br />ARCHITECT/ENGINEER. PENETRATIONS SHALL BE THROUGH FOUNDATION STEMWALL OR 6" CLEAR BELOW FOOTING. STEP FOOTING AS

<br />1.2 THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ADEQUATE TEMPORARY SUPPORT AND STABILITY OF EXISTING STRUCTURE
<br />DURING ALL PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />1.3 VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS IN THE FIELD PRIOR TO FABRICATION OF STRUCTURAL ITEMS. IF ANY DISCREPANCIES ARE FOUND BETWEEN
<br />WHAT IS SHOWN ON THE PLANS AND WHAT EXISTS IN THE FIELD, CONTACT THE WAL-MART CONSTRUCTION MANAGER TO DETERMINE
<br />WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO MATCH EXISTING CONDITIONS AS REQUIRED. BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION MEANS ACCEPTANCE OF
<br />EXISTING CONDITIONS.
<br />2.0 FOUNDATIONS AND SUBGRADE
<br />2.1 FOOTING DESIGNS ARE BASED ON AN ASSUMED, NON -EXPANSIVE SOIL WITH A MAXIMUM NET ALLOWABLE SOIL BEARING PRESSURE OF
<br />1,500 PSF WITH A MAXIMUM DIFFERENTIAL SETTLEMENT OF 1/2". CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING WHETHER
<br />OR NOT SOILS MEETS THIS MINIMUM CRITERIA AND IF IT DOES NOT, SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF RECORD.
<br />2.2 EXTERIOR FOOTINGS SHALL BEAR AT OR BELOW MINIMUM BEARING DEPTH. MINIMUM BEARING DEPTH IS 12" BELOW ADJACENT
<br />FINISHED GRADE. THICKENED SLAB EDGES FOR STOOPS, CANOPIES, ETC. SHALL BE 16" (UNO).
<br />2.3 BELLING AT THE TOP OF PIERS SHALL BE AVOIDED. SHOULD BELLING OCCUR, SONOTUBES SHALL BE USED TO EXTEND THE PIER TO
<br />THE PROPER ELEVATION.
<br />2.4 CONCRETE SHALL BE POURED IN ALL PIER HOLES WITHIN 8 HOURS OF EXCAVATION. ANY ACCUMULATED WATER SHALL BE PUMPED
<br />FROM THE PIER HOLES PRIOR TO CONRETE PLACEMENT.
<br />2.5 DO NOT ALLOW STORED EXCAVATION MATERIAL TO DISRUPT PROPER DRAINAGE OF AREA.
<br />2.6 DISPOSE OF EXCAVATED MATERIAL AS REQUIRED BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
<br />2.7 BEFORE OR CONCURRENT WITH THE EXCAVATION FOR THE FOUNDATIONS ADJACENT TO THE EXISTING BUILDING, PROVIDE ADEQUATE

<br />4.0 PRE -MANUFACTURED CANOPY
<br />4.1 CANOPY ERECTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY BRACING FOR THE ENTIRE CANOPY STRUCTURE UNTIL ALL STRUCTURE AND
<br />CONNECTIONS ARE INSTALLED AND FUNCTIONING AS THE DESIGNED UNIT.
<br />4.2 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES AND PROCEDURES OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION SELECTED.
<br />4.3 THE CANOPY ERECTOR SHALL BE SOLELY AND COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDITIONS OF THE JOB SITE IN AND AROUND
<br />THE CANOPY INCLUDING THE SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS AND PROPERTY.
<br />4.4 ALL DETAILING, FABRICATION AND ERECTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE AISC "CODE OF STANDARD PRACTICE
<br />FOR STEEL BUILDINGS AND BRIDGES" OR AISI "COLD FORMED STEEL DESIGN MANUAL."
<br />4.5 FIELD CONNECTIONS SHALL BE BOLTED EXCEPT WHERE WELDED CONNECTIONS ARE INDICATED ON THE MANUFACTURER'S
<br />DRAWINGS.
<br />4.6 ANCHOR BOLTS SHALL BE SET IN STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS.

<br />4.8 BOLTS FOR CANOPY CONNECTIONS SHALL BE ASTM A 325-N HIGH STRENGTH BOLTS INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURERS INSTALLATION
<br />REQUIREMENTS.
<br />4.9 MANUFACTURER SHALL DESIGN ALL CANOPY FRAMING, BASE PLATES, ANCHORAGE TO FOUNDATIONS, AND SUBSEQUENT
<br />CONNECTIONS TO MEET THE DESIGN LOAD CRITERIA SHOWN.
<br />4.10 STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THE CANOPY SHALL BE PERFORMED BY AN ENGINEER LICENSED IN THE PROJECT STATE.
<br />4.11 MANUFACTURER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING AND SUPPLYING ALL CONNECTIONS.
<br />4.12 MANUFACTURER SHALL PROVIDE ALL CALCULATIONS AND DRAWINGS TO THE FOUNDATION ENGINEER FOR REVIEW. PRIOR TO THE
