<br />TERMITE PROTECTION SHALL BE PROVIDED BY REGISTERED TERMITICIDES,
<br />INCLUDING SOIL APPLIED PESTICIDES, BAITING SYSTEMS, AND PESTICIDES
<br />APPLIED TO WOOD, OR OTHER APPROVED METHODS OF TERMITE
<br />PROTECTION LABELED FOR USE AS A PREVENTATIVE TREATMENT TO NEW
<br />CONSTRUCTION (SEE SECTION 202, REGISTERED TERMITICIDE). UPON
<br />COMPLETION OF THE APPLICATION OF THE TERMITE PROTECTIVE
<br />TREATMENT, A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE SHALL BE ISSUED TO THE
<br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT BY THE LICENSED PEST CONTROL COMPANY THAT

<br />IF SOIL TREATMENT IS USED FOR SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE PREVENTION,
<br />CHEMICALLY TREATED SOIL SHALL BE PROTECTED WITH A MINIMUM 6 MIL
<br />VAPOR RETARDER TO PROTECT AGAINST RAINFALL DILUTION. IF RAINFALL
<br />OCCURS BEFORE VAPOR RETARDER PLACEMENT, RETREATMENT IS
<br />REQUIRED. ANY WORK, INCLUDING PLACEMENT OF REINFORCING STEEL,
<br />CHEMICAL TREATMENT UNTIL THE CONCRETE FLOOR IS

<br />IF SOIL TREATMENT IS USED FOR SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE PREVENTION,
<br />CHEMICAL SOIL TREATMENTS SHALL ALSO BE APPLIED UNDER ALL
<br />EXTERIOR CONCRETE OR GRADE WITHIN 1 FOOT (305 MM) OF THE
<br />PRIMARY STRUCTURE SIDEWALLS. ALSO, A VERTICAL CHEMICAL BARRIER
<br />SHALL BE APPLIED PROMPTLY AFTER CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED,

<br />ONTRACT ASSURING THE INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND MONITORING
<br />OF THE BAITING SYSTEM FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE YEARS FROM THE
<br />ISSUE OF THE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE
<br />BUILDING OFFICIAL PRIOR TO THE POURING OF THE SLAB, AND THE

<br />R320.4 CONCRETE BEARING LEDGE.
<br />BRICK, STONE OR OTHER VENEER SHALL BE SUPPORTED BY A
<br />CONCRETE BEARING LEDGE AT LEAST EQUAL TO THE TOTAL THICKNESS
<br />OF THE BRICK, STONE OR OTHER VENEER, WHICH IS POURED INTEGRALLY
<br />WITH THE CONCRETE FOUNDATION. NO SUPPLEMENTAL CONCRETE
<br />FOUNDATION POURS WHICH WILL CREATE A HIDDEN COLD JOINT SHALL

<br />AS A PHYSICAL BARRIER UNLESS A BARRIER CAN BE INSPECTED FOR
<br />ANY TERMITE SHELTER TUBES AROUND THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE EDGES
<br />AND JOINTS OF A BARRIER.
<br />R320.5.1 FIELD TREATMENT.
<br />FIELD CUT ENDS, NOTCHES AND DRILLED HOLES OF PRESSURE
<br />PRESERVATIVELY TREATED WOOD SHALL BE RETREATED IN THE FIELD IN
<br />ACCORDANCE WITH AWPA M4.
<br />R320.6 FOAM PLASTIC PROTECTION.
<br />EXTRUDED AND EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE, POLYISOCYANU RATE AND
<br />OTHER FOAM PLASTICS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED ON THE EXTERIOR
<br />FACE OR UNDER INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR FOUNDATION WALLS OR SLAB
<br />FOUNDATIONS LOCATED BELOW GRADE. THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN FOAM
<br />PLASTICS INSTALLED ABOVE GRADE AND EXPOSED EARTH SHALL BE AT
<br />LEAST 6 INCHES (152 MM).
<br />EXCEPTIONS:
<br />1. BUILDINGS WHERE THE STRU U AL F WALLS, FLOORS,
<br />CEILINGS AND ROOFS ARE ENTIRELY OF NONCOMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS OR
<br />PRESSURE PRESERVATIVELY TREATED WOOD.
<br />2. WHEN IN ADDITION TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION R320.1, AN
<br />APPROVED METHOD OF PROTECTING THE FOAM PLASTIC AND STRUCTURE
<br />FROM SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE DAMAGE IS PROVIDED.
<br />3. ON THE INTERIOR SIDE OF BASEMENT WALLS.
<br />GENERAL NOTES
<br />Bathroom #2 - Hall
<br />- Demo existing door and frame.
<br />- Re-frome opening for a 36" wide door.
<br />- Install new 3'0" x 6'8" pre -hung, hollow core door unit with lever
<br />lock.
<br />- Mortise trim on inside of door to fit against wall and vanity.
<br />- Point door and frame completely.
<br />- Install horizontal grab bar in front of toilet at height suitable to
<br />owner.
<br />- Remove and replace regular toilet with new handicap toilet and
<br />seat.
<br />Kitchen
<br />Cut the west countertop, south end, back approximately 20"
<br />removing the south door of that base cabinet. Using the west
<br />side and the south end, make two side legs to hold top, Lower
<br />countertop height down to 31" high, 29" clear height. Install
<br />splash between 36" countertop height and new 31" height.
<br />Reinstall end panel 20" north. Patch as necessary wood floor in
<br />20" x 25" area where base cabinet was removed for a roll -under
<br />area.
<br />Utility Room
<br />- Demo southwest corner of existing utility room.
<br />- Demo from edge of door in room, northwest at an angle
<br />approximately 7 LF from southwest existing corner. By removing
<br />90 degree corner and installing an angle wall approximately 7 LF
<br />long, you will create a walkway approximately 42" wide so that a
<br />wheelchair con travel from back patio to carport and be under
<br />roof and out of weather.
<br />- Relocate one wall light, one light switch, and one wall outlet.
<br />- Re -frame new angle wall and reinstall existing vinyl lap siding.
<br />- Provide all necessary vinyl lop components to tie new design into
<br />existing design.
<br />Interior will remain as is with exposed studs.
<br />Remove existing block skirting on west side of sidewalk for
<br />approximately 12 LF and install vinyl in place of block to gain 4"
<br />of width.
<br />Master Bathroom
<br />- Demo toilet.
<br />- Demo bathroom door and frame.
<br />- Demo two toilet room walls (west and south),
<br />- Demo vanity top, sinks, faucets, and base cabinets.
<br />- Demo mirror above vanity.
<br />- Save sinks, faucets, and mirror to reinstall.
<br />- Demo shower walls, shower valve, shower floor and floor drain.
<br />- Demo wall cabinet - reinstall in bedroom closet.
<br />- Demo floor covering in bathroom.
<br />- Demo north wall, east end, for a new 36" door.
<br />- Frame in new door opening. Frame to close up old door opening.
<br />- Rough in plumbing: Install toilet water line, east wall, south end,
<br />(corner of room) and its 4" drain line in floor.

<br />sleepers (2x4's) at on angle to create a 1 to 12 slope for a

<br />height approximately 20" up from existing floor; frame for
<br />A/C relocation.
<br />- Reinstall the five existing windows - three on west wall and

<br />- Reinstall existing door and frame in north wall, east end.
<br />- Reinstall A/C unit north wall.
<br />- Relocate three wall outlets to new floor height and add one
<br />outlet for a total of

<br />- Install R-19 insulation in west and north walls.
<br />- Install moisture barrier on exterior of both walls.
<br />- Reinstall vinyl lop siding on both walls. Trim around windows
<br />and door as necessary for a water tight installation.
<br />- Install 112" drywoll floor to ceiling on all four interior walls;
<br />tape and finish drywall.
<br />- Install wood baseboard.
<br />- Point walls and trim completely.
<br />- Reinstall carpet on top of tongue and groove plywood.
<br />Exterior Door Sun Room
<br />Form, pour, and finish a 4x4 landing flush with floor of sun
<br />room. Stem wall on four sides of landing to be poured
<br />solid and have two #5 steel re -bars in each wall. Floor of
<br />landing to have wire mesh.
<br />From 4x4 landing on east side, form, pour, and finish a 4
<br />LF wide set of steps down to sidewalk.
<br />Install handroils on landing and both sides of steps.
<br />Roils are to match existing rails as closely as possible.
<br />Front Door
<br />- Demo existing rails on porch steps and sidewalk; save to
<br />reinstall.
<br />- Form, pour, and finish a cop on porch level with floor of
<br />home.
<br />- Form, pour, and finish a 4x19 LF romp from east side of
<br />landing toward the driveway. Finish ramp flush with new cop
<br />height and existing sidewalk.
<br />- Remove lost 4 LF of sidewalk at base of romp so that
<br />concrete pour will be 4" in thickness.
<br />- Reinstall hand roil on porch and romp that was removed.
<br />Carport
<br />- On east side of carport, remove plant bed.
<br />- From copping around plant bed west, back to carport, pour
<br />area solid and level with carport area approximately 3x27.
