ELECTRICAL NOTES <br />1.: ALL CIRCUITS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE GROUNDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROPRIATE <br />::ARTICLES OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODES (NEC). <br />2. WHEN LIGHT FIXTURES ARE INSTALLED IN CLOSETS THEY SHALL BE SURFACE MOUNTED OR RECESSED. <br />,.,JNCANDESCENT FIXTURES SHALL HAVE COMPLETELY ENCLOSED LAMPS. SURFACE MOUNTED <br />INCANDESCENT FIXTURES SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 12 INCHES AND ALL OTHER FIXTURES <br />SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 6 INCHES FROM " STORAGE AREA" AS DEFINED BY NEC 410-8 (a) <br />3. WHEN WATER HEATERS ARE INSTALLED THEY SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH READILY ACCESSIBLE <br />DISCONNECTS ADJACENT TO THE WATER HEATERS SERVED. THE BRANCH CIRCUIT SWITCH OR CIRCUIT <br />BREAKER SHALL BE PERMITTED TO SERVE AS THE DISCONNECTING MEANS ONLY WHERE THE SWITCH <br />OR CIRCUIT BREAKER IS WITHIN SIGHT FROM THE WATER HEATER OR IS CAPABLE OF BEING LOCKED <br />IN THE OPEN POISON, <br />4. HVAC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH READILY ACCESSIBLE DISCONNECTS ADJACENT TO THE <br />EQUIPMENT SERVED. A UNIT SWITCH WITH A MARKED " OFF " POSITION THAT IS A PART OF THE HVAC <br />EQUIPMENT AND DISCONNECTS ALL UNGROUNDED CONDUCTORS SHALL BE PERMITTED.AS THE <br />DISCONNECTING MEANS WHERE OTHER DISCONNECTING MEANS ARE ALSO PROVIDED BY A READILY <br />ACCESSIBLE CIRCUIT BREAKER. <br />5. PRIOR TO ENERGIZING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THE INTERRUPTING RATING OF THE MAIN BREAKER <br />MUST BE DESIGNED AND VERIFIED AS BEING IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 110-9 OF THE NEC BY <br />LOCAL ELECTRICAL CONSULTANT. <br />6. EXTERIOR LIGHTS NOT INTENDED FOR 24 HOUR USE AND SHALL BE CONNECTED TO A PHOTOCELL OR <br />TIMER. <br />7. ALL RECEPTACLES INSTALLED IN WET LOCATIONS (EXTERIOR) SHALL BE IN WEATHER PROOF (W.P.) <br />ENCLOSURES. THE INTEGRITY OF WHICH IS NOT AFFECTED WHEN AN ATTACHMENT PLUG CAP IS <br />INSERTED OR REMOVED. <br />8. WHEN NOT SHOWN ON THE PLANS PROVISIONS FOR EXIT DISCHARGE LIGHTING (INCLUDING EXIT <br />DISCHARGE EMERGENCY LIGHTING) ARE DESIGNED BY OTHERS AND THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE <br />BUILDINGS OWNER AND SUBJECT TO LOCAL JURISDICTION APPROVAL. <br />SMOKE ALARM NOTES <br />NOTE: SMOKE ALARMS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS UNLESS THIS WOULD PREVENT <br />PLACEMENT OF A SMOKE ALARM IN A LOCATION REQUIRED BY SECTION 907.2.11.1 OR 907.2.11.2: <br />1. IONIZATION SMOKE ALARMS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED LESS THAN 20 FEET HORIZONTALLY FROM A <br />PERMANENTLY INSTALLED COOKING APPLIANCES. <br />2. IONIZATION SMOKE ALARMS WITH AN ALARM -SILENCING SWITCH SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED LESS THAN 10 <br />FEET HORIZONTALLY FROM A PERMANENTLY INSTALLED COOKING APPLIANCE. <br />3. PHOTOELECTRIC SMOKE ALARMS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED LESS THAN 6 FEET HORIZONTALLY FROM A <br />PERMANENTLY INSTALLED COOKING APPLIANCE. <br />NOTE: ALL SMOKE ALARMS WITHIN THE SLEEPING UNIT OR DWELLING UNIT IN GROUP R OR 1-1 OCCUPANCIES SHALL <br />BE INTERCONNECTED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT THE ACTIVATION OF ONE ALARM WILL ACTIVATE ALL OF THE OTHER <br />ALARMS IN THE INDIVIDUAL UNIT. PHYSICAL CONNECTION OF SMOKE ALARMS SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED WHERE <br />LISTED WIRELESS ALARMS ARE INSTALLED AND ALL ALARMS SOUND UPON ACTIVATION OF ONE ALARM. THE ALARM <br />SHALL BE CLEARLY AUDIBLE IN ALL BEDROOMS OVER BACKGROUND NOISE LEVELS WITH ALL INTERVENING DOORS <br />CLOSED. (FBC 907.2.11.5) <br />NOTE: SINGLE OR MULTI -STATION SMOKE ALARMS SHALL BE INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED AT ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />LOCATIONS: <br />1.ON THE CEILING OR WALL OUTSIDE OF EACH SEPARATE SLEEPING AREA IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OF <br />BEDROOMS. <br />2.IN EACH ROOM USED FOR SLEEPING PURPOSES. <br />3.IN EACH STORY WITHIN A DWELLING UNIT, INCLUDING BASEMENTS BUT NOT INCLUDING CRAWL SPACES AND <br />UNINHABITABLE ATTICS. IN DWELLINGS OR DWELLING UNITS WITH SPLIT LEVELS AND WITHOUT AN INTERVENING <br />DOOR BETWEEN THE ADJACENT LEVELS, A SMOKE ALARM INSTALLED ON THE UPPER LEVEL SHALL SUFFICE FOR <br />THE ADJACENT LOWER LEVEL PROVIDED THAT THE LOWER LEVEL IS LESS THAN ONE FULL STORY BELOW THE <br />UPPER LEVEL.
