<br />GENERAL NOTES:
<br />1. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM WITH THE LATEST EDITIONS OF THE
<br />FLORIDA BUILDING CODE 2006 WITH 2O07 SUPPLEMENTS, FLORIDA
<br />PLUMBING CODE 2004, FLORIDA MECHANICAL CODE 2005, THE
<br />NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 2005/FLORIDA ACCESSIBILITY CODE
<br />2004 AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL
<br />CODES AND ORDINANCES AND ALL AUTHORITIES HAVING LOCAL
<br />JURISDICTION.
<br />2. THESE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN PREPARED FROM
<br />THE MOST COMPLETE INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THE ENGINEER.
<br />ALL DATA ON EXISTING CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS ARE
<br />APPROXIMATE AND SHALL BE VERIFIED PRIOR TO COMMENCING
<br />ANY WORK.
<br />3. IT SHALL BE THE GC AND SUBCONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO
<br />PERSONALLY FIELD INSPECT THE JOB SITE PRIOR TO SUBMITTING
<br />HIS BID. THE INSPECTION IS REQUIRED SO THAT THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL BE TOTALLY FAMILIAR WITH THE EXISTING
<br />CONDITIONS AND THEIR INTERFACE WITH THE NEW CONSTRUCTION
<br />AS DEFINED IN THESE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
<br />4. ANY ADJUSTMENT TO THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, ADDITIONS,
<br />DELETIONS OR CHANGE ORDERS, SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE
<br />OWNER, GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ARCHITECT IN WRITING.
<br />5. ALL WORK (EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS AND LABOR) SHALL HAVE A
<br />MINIMUM WRITTEN GUARANTEE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR,
<br />UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE, FROM THE DATE OF SUBSTANTIAL
<br />COMPLETION AGAINST ANY DEFECTS IN SAID WORK WITH
<br />APPROPRIATE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AT NO ADDITIONAL COST
<br />TO THE OWNER.
<br />6. ALL MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A NEAT AND FIRST
<br />CLASS WORKMANLIKE MANNER. THE ARCHITECT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DIRECT
<br />THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF ANY ITEM, IN HIS OPINION, THAT DOES NOT
<br />PRESENT AN ORDERLY AND REASONABLY NEAT OR WORKMANLIKE APPEARANCE.
<br />THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT SHALL BE DONE WHEN DIRECTED BY THE
<br />GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND PROJECT MANAGER AND/OR ARCHITECT/ENGINEER
<br />WITH OUT ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
<br />7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND
<br />RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE EXTENT PRINTED INFORMATION IS MORE DETAILED OR
<br />STRINGENT THAN REQUIREMENTS CONTAINED DIRECTLY IN THE PLANS.
<br />8. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ORDERLY HOUSEKEEPING DURING THE PROCESS OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION AND UPON COMPLETION SHALL THOROUGHLY CLEAN ALL AREAS.
<br />FINAL CLEAN UP SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
<br />A. SWEEPING FLOORING.
<br />B. DUSTING AND REMOVAL OF DIRT, PAINT DRIPPINGS, OIL,
<br />GREASE AND OTHER BLEMISHES FROM ALL SURFACES,
<br />INCLUDING PIPING AND EQUIPMENT.
<br />C. WINDOWS, GLASS, LIGHTS AND MIRRORS SHALL BE WASHED
<br />AND CLEANED.
<br />D. PAINT OVERRUNS AND PUTTY SMEARS SHALL BE REMOVED.
<br />E. HARDWARE SHALL BE CLEANED AND POLISHED WITH FLANNEL
<br />CLOTH.
<br />9. WORK TO BE DONE CONSISTS OF FURNISHING ALL MATERIALS, LABOR, EQUIPMENT,
<br />TOOLS AND ALL ITEMS AND SERVICES REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION IN
<br />CONFORMITY WITH GENERAL NOTES AND PLANS.
<br />10. THE PLANS SHOW THE LOCATION OF ALL FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT AND ARE
<br />INTENDED TO CONVEY THE GENERAL INTENT OF THE WORK IN SCOPE AND
<br />LAYOUT. THEY ARE NOT INTENDED TO SHOW IN MINUTE DETAIL EVERY AND ALL
<br />OF THE ACCESSORIES INTENDED FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXECUTION OF THE
<br />WORK, BUT IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT SUCH DETAILS ARE PART OF THIS WORK.
<br />11. THE SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL REMOVE ALL CONSTRUCTION RUBBISH, SCAFFOLDING,
<br />EQUIPMENT, TEMPORARY PROTECTION, TEMPORARY FIELD STRUCTURES AND OTHER
<br />COMPONENTS WHICH WERE REQUIRED IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION, BUT
<br />NOT A PERMANENT PART THEREOF.
<br />12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
<br />REQUIRED FOR THE WORK AND PAY ALL CHARGES INCIDENTAL THERETO.
<br />13. PROVIDE DOOR HARDWARE IN CONFORMANCE WITH ADA REQUIREMENTS.
<br />14. THE CONTRACTOR/GC SHALL PROVIDE ALL MISCELLANEOUS FACILITIES AS NEEDED,
<br />INCLUDING TEMPORARY STAIRS, TEMPORARY RAMPS, LADDERS, RUNWAYS, STAGING,
<br />SHORING, SCAFFOLDING, BRIDGES, RAILING, BRACING, BARRIERS, CLOSURES,
<br />PLATFORMS, TEMPORARY PARTITIONS, WASTE CHUTES AND SIMILAR ITEMS.
<br />15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL CONSTRUCTION COMPONENTS DURING THE
<br />COURSE OF PAINTING AND SHALL PROMPTLY CLEAN ALL RESIDUE, SPLATTER OR
<br />OVER SPRAY UPON COMPLETION OF HIS WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL USE DROP
<br />CLOTHES, MASKING AND OTHER SHIELDING DEVICES TO THE GREATEST EXTENT
<br />PRACTICAL TO PROTECT ALL ITEMS NOT TO BE PAINTED OR THOSE ITEMS WHICH
<br />HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED FINAL FINISH COATS. PROTECT THE STORE EQUIPMENT FROM
<br />DUST AT ALL TIMES.
<br />16. ALL PAINTING REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE
<br />WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECS FOR PRODUCT HANDLING, SURFACE PREPARATION,
<br />PAINTING APPLICATION, CURING/DRYING TIME BETWEEN COATS, CLEANING AND
<br />PROTECTION OF PAINTED SURFACES UNTIL THE SOURCE OF CONSTRUCTION IS
<br />COMPLETE. PAINT COLORS TO BE SELECTED FOR THESE DOCUMENTS ARE AS
<br />MANUFACTURED BY GLIDDEN DIVISION OF SCM CORP. ALTERNATE ACCEPTABLE MFR.
